< Proverbs 15 >

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Okuddamu n’eggonjebwa kumalawo ekiruyi, naye ekigambo eky’obukambwe kisaanuula obusungu.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.
Olulimi lw’omugezi lwogera by’amagezi, naye akamwa k’abasirusiru kafukumula busirusiru bwereere.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.
Amaaso ga Mukama galaba buli wantu, alaba abatuukirivu n’abakozi b’ebibi.
4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
Olulimi oluzimba muti gwa bulamu, naye olulimi olulimba lubetenta omutima.
5 A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.
Omusirusiru anyooma okubuulirirwa kwa kitaawe, naye omutegeevu assaayo omwoyo eri okunenyezebwa.
6 The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.
Mu nnyumba y’omutuukirivu mubaamu obugagga bungi, naye omukozi w’ebibi by’afuna, bimuleetera emitawaana.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.
Akamwa k’amagezi kabunyisa okumanya, naye omutima gw’abasirusiru si bwe gukola.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
Ssaddaaka y’aboonoonyi ya muzizo eri Mukama, naye okusaba kw’abalongoofu lye ssanyu lye.
9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
Ekkubo ly’omwonoonyi lya muzizo eri Mukama, naye Mukama ayagala oyo anoonya obutuukirivu.
10 Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.
Oyo aleka ekkubo ettuufu alikangavvulwa n’amaanyi, n’oyo akyawa okunenyezebwa alifa.
11 Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD— how much more the hearts of men! (Sheol h7585)
Okufa n’okuzikirira biri mu maaso ga Mukama, n’okulaba alaba nnyo emitima gy’abaana b’abantu! (Sheol h7585)
12 A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.
Omunyoomi tayagala kunenyezebwa, era teeyeebuuza ku b’amagezi.
13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.
Omutima omusanyufu guleeta essanyu ku maaso, naye omutima omunyiikaavu gunafuya emmeeme.
14 A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
Omutima omutegeevu gunoonya okumanya, naye akamwa k’abasirusiru kalya busirusiru.
15 All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
Omuntu bw’aba omunyiikaavu, buli kimu kimwononekera, naye omutima omusanyufu gujaguza buli kaseera.
16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.
Okuba n’akatono ng’otya Mukama, kusinga okuba n’ebingi naye ng’oli mu mitawaana.
17 Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.
Okulya emmere ng’eriko enva endiirwa awali okwagalana, kisinga okuliirako ebyassava awali obukyayi.
18 A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.
Omuntu asunguwala amangu asaanuula oluyombo, naye omugumiikiriza akakkanya embeera.
19 The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
Ekkubo ly’omugayaavu lijjula amaggwa, naye ekkubo ly’omutuukirivu golokofu.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
Omwana omugezi asanyusa kitaawe, naye omuntu omusirusiru anyooma nnyina.
21 Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.
Obusirusiru ssanyu eri oyo atalina magezi, naye omuntu ategeera atambulira mu kkubo eggolokofu.
22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
Awatali kuluŋŋamizibwa entegeka zifa, naye awali abawi b’amagezi abangi ziyitamu.
23 A man takes joy in a fitting reply— and how good is a timely word!
Okuddamu obulungi kisanyusa, era kirungi ekigambo ekirungi okujjira mu kiseera ekituufu.
24 The path of life leads upward for the wise, that he may avoid going down to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Ekkubo ery’obulamu liyimusa omugezi, ne limuziyiza okukka emagombe. (Sheol h7585)
25 The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.
Mukama azikiriza ennyumba y’ab’amalala, kyokka akuuma ensalo za nnamwandu.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.
Enkwe za muzizo eri Mukama, naye ebigambo ebisaanidde, bimusanyusa.
27 He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.
Oyo anoonya okugaggawalira mu bukyamu aleetera ennyumba ye emitawaana, naye oyo akyawa enguzi aliba mulamu.
28 The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.
Omutima gw’omutuukirivu gufumiitiriza bye gunaayanukula, naye akamwa k’omwonoonyi kafubutula ebitasaana.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
Mukama ali wala n’aboonoonyi, naye awulira okusaba kw’abatuukirivu.
30 The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.
Amaaso agajjudde essanyu gasanyusa omutima, n’amawulire amalungi galeetera amagumba obulamu.
31 He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.
Oyo assaayo omwoyo eri okunenyezebwa okuleeta obulamu, alituula wamu n’abagezi.
32 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
Agayaalirira okubuulirirwa yeerumya yekka, naye oyo assaayo omwoyo eri okunenyezebwa afuna okutegeera.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Okutya Mukama kuyigiriza omuntu amagezi, n’obwetoowaze kye kitiibwa ky’omuntu oyo.
