Proverbs 15
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
ಮೃದುವಾದ ಉತ್ತರವು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬಿರುಸಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹರಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆಡವುತ್ತದೆ.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ. ಕೆಟ್ಟವರನ್ನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವರು.
4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
ಹಿತವಾದ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಜೀವವೃಕ್ಷ. ಆದರೆ ವಕ್ರ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಆತ್ಮಚೈತನ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದು.
5 A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.
ಮೂರ್ಖನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜಾಣನು ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು.
6 The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.
ನೀತಿವಂತನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಸಂಪತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನ ಆದಾಯವು ವಿನಾಶ ತರುವುದು.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹರಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಹೃದಯವು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
ದುಷ್ಟರ ಯಜ್ಞವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ. ಆದರೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ.
9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ. ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನನ್ನು ಅವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
10 Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.
ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟವನಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವನು ಸಾಯುವನು.
ಮರಣವೂ ಪಾತಾಳವೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಹೃದಯಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮುಚ್ಚುಮರೆಯೇ? (Sheol h7585)
12 A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.
ಕುಚೋದ್ಯಗಾರನು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದವನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.
ಸಂತೋಷದ ಹೃದಯವು ಹರ್ಷವುಳ್ಳ ಮುಖಭಾವ ತೋರುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ನೊಂದ ಹೃದಯವು ಆತ್ಮಚೈತನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕುಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
14 A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
ವಿವೇಕವುಳ್ಳವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನೇ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತದೆ.
15 All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
ಬಾಧಿತರ ದಿನಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ದುಃಖಭರಿತ. ಆದರೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳವನಿಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಔತಣ.
16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.
ತೊಂದರೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿಗಿಂತ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಅಲ್ಪವೇ ಮೇಲು.
17 Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.
ದ್ವೇಷವಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಮಾಂಸಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಸ್ಯಾಹಾರ ಊಟವೇ ಉತ್ತಮ.
18 A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.
ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಟನು ವಿವಾದವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು. ಆದರೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಇರುವವನು ಜಗಳವನ್ನು ಶಾಂತಗೊಳಿಸುವನು.
19 The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಬೇಲಿಯಂತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗ.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾದರೋ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
21 Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಮೂರ್ಖತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಿಸುವನು. ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನು ನೇರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
ಸಲಹೆಯ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ವಿಫಲಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವು ಸಫಲಗೊಳ್ಳುವುವು.
23 A man takes joy in a fitting reply— and how good is a timely word!
ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ತಕ್ಕ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು.
ಜೀವದ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಜಾಣನನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತುವುದು. ಅದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿಯುವದರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದು. (Sheol h7585)
25 The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಠರ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವರು, ಆದರೆ ವಿಧವೆಯರ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ನೆಲೆಗೊಳಿಸುವರು.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.
ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಸೌಜನ್ಯಶೀಲ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
27 He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.
ದುರಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಲಂಚವನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವನು ಬದುಕುವನು.
28 The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.
ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಹೃದಯವು ಹೇಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆಡವುತ್ತದೆ.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ದೂರ; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
30 The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.
ಹರ್ಷಚಿತ್ತದ ನೋಟವು ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಪುಷ್ಟಿಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
31 He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.
ಜೀವದ ಗದರಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ವಾಸಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
32 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುವವನು, ತನಗೆ ತಾನೆ ಹಾನಿ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಗದರಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವವನು ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯವೇ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ರತೆ ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
