Proverbs 11
1 Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but an accurate weight is His delight.
१यथार्थ नसलेल्या तराजूचा परमेश्वरास वीट आहे, पण तंतोतंत वजनात त्यास आनंद आहे.
2 When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.
२जेव्हा गर्व येतो नंतर अप्रतिष्ठा येते, पण विनम्रते बरोबर ज्ञान येते.
3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the faithless destroys them.
३सरळांचा सात्विकपणा त्यांना मार्गदर्शन करतो, पण विश्वासघातक्यांचा वाकडा मार्ग त्यांचा नाश करतो.
4 Riches are worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness brings deliverance from death.
४क्रोधाच्या दिवशी संपत्ती निरुपयोगी आहे, परंतु नीतिमत्ता तुम्हास मरणापासून वाचवते.
5 The righteousness of the blameless directs their path, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.
५निर्दोष व्यक्तीची सात्विक वागणूक त्याचे मार्ग सरळ करते, परंतु दुर्जन आपल्या दुष्टतेने पतन पावतो.
6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the faithless are trapped by their own desires.
६जे देवाला प्रसन्न करतात त्यांचा सात्विकपणा त्यांना सुरक्षित ठेविल, पण फसवणारा आपल्या दुष्कृतीनेच सापळ्यात अडकतो.
7 When the wicked man dies, his hope perishes, and the hope of his strength vanishes.
७जेव्हा दुष्ट मनुष्य मरतो, त्याची आशा नष्ट होते; आणि त्याचा भरवसा त्याच्या शक्तीत होता तो निष्फळ होतो.
8 The righteous man is delivered from trouble; in his place the wicked man goes in.
८नीतिमान संकटापासून दूर राहतो; आणि त्याच्याऐवजी ती दुष्टांवर येतात.
9 With his mouth the ungodly man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.
९अधर्मी आपल्या तोंडाने शेजाऱ्याचा नाश करतो, पण नीतिमान आपल्या ज्ञानाने सुरक्षित राहतो.
10 When the righteous thrive, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.
१०जेव्हा नीतिमानाची उन्नती होते तेव्हा नगर आनंदित होते; जेव्हा दुष्टांचा नाश होतो तेव्हा तेथे आनंदाचा जयघोष होतो.
11 By the blessing of the upright a city is built up, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.
११जो कोणी आपल्या चांगल्या दानांनी देवाला संतोषवितो, तेव्हा नगर मोठे होते; दुष्टांच्या तोंडामुळे नगर उद्ध्वस्त होते.
12 Whoever shows contempt for his neighbor lacks judgment, but a man of understanding remains silent.
१२जो मनुष्य आपल्या मित्राला तुच्छ लेखतो तो बुद्धिहीन आहे, परंतु समजदार मनुष्य शांत राहतो.
13 A gossip reveals a secret, but a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.
१३जो कोणी निंदा करीत फिरतो तो गुप्त गोष्टी उघड करतो, परंतु जो विश्वासू व्यक्ती असतो तो त्यावर झाकण घालतो.
14 For lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with many counselors comes deliverance.
१४जेथे कोठे शहाण्याचे मार्गदर्शन नसते, राष्ट्र पडते, पण पुष्कळ सल्लागार असल्याने विजय मिळतो.
15 He who puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but the one who hates indebtedness is secure.
१५जो कोणी अपरिचिताला जामीन राहील, त्याची खात्रीने हानी होईल, परंतु जो कोणी त्याप्रकारची शपथ देण्याचे वचन देतो, तो त्याचा द्वेष करतो, तो सुरक्षित राहतो.
16 A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth.
१६कृपाळू स्त्रीस आदर मिळतो, परंतु निर्दयी लोक संपत्ती घट्ट पकडतात.
17 A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.
१७दयाळू मनुष्य आपले हित करतो, पण जो क्रूर असतो तो स्वत: ला इजा करून घेतो.
18 The wicked man earns an empty wage, but he who sows righteousness reaps a true reward.
१८दुष्ट मनुष्य त्याचे वेतन मिळविण्यासाठी लबाड बोलतो, परंतु जो नीतीने पेरतो त्याचे वेतन सत्याची कापणी असते.
19 Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuit of evil brings death.
१९जो प्रामाणिक व्यक्ती नीतीने राहतो त्यास जीवन मिळेल, पण जो दुष्कर्मामागे लागतो तो आपणावर मृत्त्यू आणतो.
20 The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but the blameless in their walk are His delight.
२०जे मनाचे कुटिल असतात त्यांचा परमेश्वरास वीट आहे, पण ज्यांचे मार्ग निर्दोष आहेत त्यांच्याविषयी त्यास आनंद वाटतो.
21 Be assured that the wicked will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will escape.
२१दुष्टांना शासन झाल्यावाचून राहणार नाही याची खात्री बाळगा, परंतु नीतिमानांच्या वंशजांना सुरक्षित ठेवले जाईल.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
२२डुकराच्या नाकात जशी सोन्याची नथ, तशी तारतम्य नसलेली सुंदर स्त्री समजावी.
23 The desire of the righteous leads only to good, but the hope of the wicked brings wrath.
२३जे चांगले करतात त्यांच्या इच्छेचे परिणाम चांगलेच असतात; पण दुष्टांची आशा फक्त क्रोधच असते.
24 One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.
२४तेथे कोणी एकजन बी पेरतो तो अधिक गोळा करतो; दुसरा पेरीत नाही तो दरिद्री होईल.
25 A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
२५उदार मनाचा इसम समृद्ध होतो, आणि जो दुसऱ्याला पाणी पाजतो त्यास स्वतःला ते पाजण्यात येईल.
26 The people will curse the hoarder of grain, but blessing will crown the one who sells it.
२६जो मनुष्य त्याचे धान्य विकायला नकार देतो त्यास लोक शाप देतात, पण जो ते विकतो त्याच्या मस्तकी चांगल्या दानाचा मुकुट प्राप्त होईल.
27 He who searches out good finds favor, but evil will come to him who seeks it.
२७जो कोणी परिश्रमाने चांगल्याचा शोध घेतो तो अनुग्रहाचा शोध करतो, पण जो कोणी वाईटाचा शोध घेतो त्यास तेच प्राप्त होईल.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like foliage.
२८जो कोणी आपल्या श्रीमंतीवर विश्वास ठेवतो तो पडेल, परंतु नीतिमान पानाप्रमाणे झपाट्याने वाढेल.
29 He who brings trouble on his house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
२९जो कोणी आपल्या स्वतःच्या घरावर संकटे आणतो त्याचे वतन वारा होईल, आणि मूर्ख मनुष्य शहाण्याच्या हृदयाचा सेवक होईल.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
३०नीतिमानाचे जीवन वृक्षासारखे आहे, पण हिंसाचार जीवन दूर नेतो.
31 If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!
३१जर नीतिमानाला त्याच्या लायकीप्रमाणे फळ मिळते; तर दुर्जनाला व पाप्याला किती अधिक मिळेल!
