Philippians 2
1 Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
ει τισ ουν παρακλησισ εν χριστω ει τι παραμυθιον αγαπησ ει τισ κοινωνια πνευματοσ ει τισ σπλαγχνα και οικτιρμοι
2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose.
πληρωσατε μου την χαραν ινα το αυτο φρονητε την αυτην αγαπην εχοντεσ συμψυχοι το εν φρονουντεσ
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
μηδεν κατα εριθειαν η κενοδοξιαν αλλα τη ταπεινοφροσυνη αλληλουσ ηγουμενοι υπερεχοντασ εαυτων
4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
μη τα εαυτων εκαστοσ σκοπειτε αλλα και τα ετερων εκαστοσ
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:
τουτο γαρ φρονεισθω εν υμιν ο και εν χριστω ιησου
6 Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
οσ εν μορφη θεου υπαρχων ουχ αρπαγμον ηγησατο το ειναι ισα θεω
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.
αλλ εαυτον εκενωσεν μορφην δουλου λαβων εν ομοιωματι ανθρωπων γενομενοσ
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross.
και σχηματι ευρεθεισ ωσ ανθρωποσ εταπεινωσεν εαυτον γενομενοσ υπηκοοσ μεχρι θανατου θανατου δε σταυρου
9 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names,
διο και ο θεοσ αυτον υπερυψωσεν και εχαρισατο αυτω ονομα το υπερ παν ονομα
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
ινα εν τω ονοματι ιησου παν γονυ καμψη επουρανιων και επιγειων και καταχθονιων
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
και πασα γλωσσα εξομολογησηται οτι κυριοσ ιησουσ χριστοσ εισ δοξαν θεου πατροσ
12 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
ωστε αγαπητοι μου καθωσ παντοτε υπηκουσατε μη ωσ εν τη παρουσια μου μονον αλλα νυν πολλω μαλλον εν τη απουσια μου μετα φοβου και τρομου την εαυτων σωτηριαν κατεργαζεσθε
13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose.
ο θεοσ γαρ εστιν ο ενεργων εν υμιν και το θελειν και το ενεργειν υπερ τησ ευδοκιασ
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing,
παντα ποιειτε χωρισ γογγυσμων και διαλογισμων
15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world
ινα γενησθε αμεμπτοι και ακεραιοι τεκνα θεου αμωμητα εν μεσω γενεασ σκολιασ και διεστραμμενησ εν οισ φαινεσθε ωσ φωστηρεσ εν κοσμω
16 as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
λογον ζωησ επεχοντεσ εισ καυχημα εμοι εισ ημεραν χριστου οτι ουκ εισ κενον εδραμον ουδε εισ κενον εκοπιασα
17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
αλλ ει και σπενδομαι επι τη θυσια και λειτουργια τησ πιστεωσ υμων χαιρω και συγχαιρω πασιν υμιν
18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
το δ αυτο και υμεισ χαιρετε και συγχαιρετε μοι
19 Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I learn how you are doing.
ελπιζω δε εν κυριω ιησου τιμοθεον ταχεωσ πεμψαι υμιν ινα καγω ευψυχω γνουσ τα περι υμων
20 I have nobody else like him who will genuinely care for your needs.
ουδενα γαρ εχω ισοψυχον οστισ γνησιωσ τα περι υμων μεριμνησει
21 For all the others look after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
οι παντεσ γαρ τα εαυτων ζητουσιν ου τα χριστου ιησου
22 But you know Timothy’s proven worth, that as a child with his father he has served with me to advance the gospel.
την δε δοκιμην αυτου γινωσκετε οτι ωσ πατρι τεκνον συν εμοι εδουλευσεν εισ το ευαγγελιον
23 So I hope to send him as soon as I see what happens with me.
τουτον μεν ουν ελπιζω πεμψαι ωσ αν απιδω τα περι εμε εξαυτησ
24 And I trust in the Lord that I myself will come soon.
πεποιθα δε εν κυριω οτι και αυτοσ ταχεωσ ελευσομαι
25 But I thought it necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my needs.
αναγκαιον δε ηγησαμην επαφροδιτον τον αδελφον και συνεργον και συστρατιωτην μου υμων δε αποστολον και λειτουργον τησ χρειασ μου πεμψαι προσ υμασ
26 For he has been longing for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill.
επειδη επιποθων ην παντασ υμασ και αδημονων διοτι ηκουσατε οτι ησθενησεν
27 He was sick indeed, nearly unto death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.
και γαρ ησθενησεν παραπλησιον θανατω αλλα ο θεοσ αυτον ηλεησεν ουκ αυτον δε μονον αλλα και εμε ινα μη λυπην επι λυπην σχω
28 Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less anxious.
σπουδαιοτερωσ ουν επεμψα αυτον ινα ιδοντεσ αυτον παλιν χαρητε καγω αλυποτεροσ ω
29 Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor men like him,
προσδεχεσθε ουν αυτον εν κυριω μετα πασησ χαρασ και τουσ τοιουτουσ εντιμουσ εχετε
30 because he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for your deficit of service to me.
οτι δια το εργον του χριστου μεχρι θανατου ηγγισεν παραβουλευσαμενοσ τη ψυχη ινα αναπληρωση το υμων υστερημα τησ προσ με λειτουργιασ
