Numbers 32
1 Now the Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, surveyed the lands of Jazer and Gilead, and they saw that the region was suitable for livestock.
Y los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían mucho ganado: mucho en gran multitud: los cuales viendo la tierra de Jazer y de Galaad, parecióles el lugar, lugar de ganado.
2 So the Gadites and Reubenites came to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the congregation, and said,
Y vinieron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, y hablaron a Moisés, y a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a los príncipes de la congregación, diciendo:
3 “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
Atarot, y Dibón, y Jazer, y Nemra, y Jesebón, y Eleale, y Sabán, y Nebo, y Beón,
4 which the LORD conquered before the congregation of Israel, are suitable for livestock—and your servants have livestock.”
La tierra que Jehová hirió delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado.
5 “If we have found favor in your sight,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
Y dijeron: Si hallamos gracia en tus ojos dése esta tierra a tus siervos en heredad, no nos hagas pasar el Jordán.
6 But Moses asked the Gadites and Reubenites, “Shall your brothers go to war while you sit here?
Y respondió Moisés a los hijos de Gad, y a los hijos de Rubén: ¿Vendrán vuestros hermanos a la guerra, y vosotros os quedaréis aquí?
7 Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land that the LORD has given them?
Y ¿por qué impedís el ánimo de los hijos de Israel, para que no pasen a la tierra que les ha dado Jehová?
8 This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to inspect the land.
Así hicieron vuestros padres cuando los envié desde Cádes-barne para que viesen esta tierra:
9 For when your fathers went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land that the LORD had given them.
Que subieron hasta el arroyo de Escol, y vieron la tierra, e impidieron el ánimo de los hijos de Israel para no venir a la tierra, que Jehová les había dado.
10 So the anger of the LORD was kindled that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
Y el furor de Jehová se encendió entonces, y juró, diciendo:
11 ‘Because they did not follow Me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years of age or older who came out of Egypt will see the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
Que no verán los varones que subieron de Egipto de veinte años y arriba, la tierra, por la cual juré a Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron perfectos en pos de mí;
12 not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun—because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
Excepto Caleb hijo de Jefone Cenezeo, y Josué hijo de Nun, que fueron perfectos en pos de Jehová.
13 The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
Y el furor de Jehová se encendió en Israel, e hízolos andar vagabundos por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que toda aquella generación fue acabada, que había hecho mal delante de Jehová.
14 Now behold, you, a brood of sinners, have risen up in place of your fathers to further stoke the burning anger of the LORD against Israel.
Y, he aquí, vosotros habéis sucedido en lugar de vuestros padres, crianza de hombres pecadores, para añadir aun a la ira de Jehová contra Israel.
15 For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will be the cause of their destruction.”
Si os volviereis de en pos de él, él volverá otra vez a dejarlo en el desierto, y destruiréis a todo este pueblo.
16 Then the Gadites and Reubenites approached Moses and said, “We want to build sheepfolds here for our livestock and cities for our little ones.
Entonces ellos se llegaron a él, y dijeron: Edificaremos aquí majadas para nuestro ganado, y ciudades para nuestros niños:
17 But we will arm ourselves and be ready to go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them into their place. Meanwhile, our little ones will remain in the fortified cities for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
Y nosotros nos armaremos, e iremos con diligencia delante de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los metamos en su lugar: y nuestros niños quedarán en ciudades fuertes a causa de los moradores de la tierra.
18 We will not return to our homes until every Israelite has taken possession of his inheritance.
No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno su heredad:
19 Yet we will not have an inheritance with them across the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.”
Porque no tomaremos heredad con ellos tras el Jordán ni adelante, por cuanto tendremos ya nuestra heredad de estotra parte del Jordán al oriente.
20 Moses replied, “If you will do this—if you will arm yourselves before the LORD for battle,
Entonces Moisés les respondió: Si lo hiciereis así, si os armareis delante de Jehová para la guerra,
21 and if every one of your armed men crosses the Jordan before the LORD, until He has driven His enemies out before Him,
Y pasaréis todos vosotros armados el Jordán delante de Jehová, hasta que haya echado sus enemigos de delante de sí,
22 then when the land is subdued before the LORD, you may return and be free of obligation to the LORD and to Israel. And this land will belong to you as a possession before the LORD.
Y que la tierra sea sojuzgada delante de Jehová, y después volváis, seréis absueltos de Jehová y de Israel, y esta tierra será vuestra en heredad delante de Jehová.
23 But if you do not do this, you will certainly sin against the LORD—and be assured that your sin will find you out.
Mas si no lo hiciereis así, he aquí, habréis pecado a Jehová, y sabéd que vuestro pecado os alcanzará.
24 Build cities for your little ones and folds for your flocks, but do what you have promised.”
Edificáos ciudades para vuestros niños, y majadas para vuestras ovejas, y hacéd lo que ha salido de vuestra boca.
25 The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, “Your servants will do just as our lord commands.
Y hablaron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén a Moisés, diciendo: Tus siervos harán como mi señor ha mandado.
26 Our children, our wives, our livestock, and all our animals will remain here in the cities of Gilead.
Nuestros niños, nuestras mujeres, nuestros ganados, y todas nuestras bestias estarán allí en las ciudades de Galaad:
27 But your servants are equipped for war, and every man will cross over to the battle before the LORD, just as our lord says.”
Y tus siervos pasarán todos armados de guerra, delante de Jehová a la guerra de la manera que mi señor dice.
28 So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
Entonces Moisés los encomendó a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a Josué hijo de Nun, y a los príncipes de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel;
29 And Moses said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites cross the Jordan with you, with every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you are to give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
Y díjoles Moisés: Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén pasaren con vosotros el Jordán, todos armados de guerra delante de Jehová, luego que la tierra fuere sojuzgada delante de vosotros, darles heis la tierra de Galaad en posesión:
30 But if they do not arm themselves and go across with you, then they must accept their possession among you in the land of Canaan.”
Mas si no pasaren armados con vosotros: entonces tendrán posesión entre vosotros en la tierra de Canaán.
31 The Gadites and Reubenites replied, “As the LORD has spoken to your servants, so we will do.
Y los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron, diciendo: Lo que Jehová ha dicho a tus siervos, haremos:
32 We will cross over into the land of Canaan armed before the LORD, that we may have our inheritance on this side of the Jordan.”
Nosotros pasaremos armados delante de Jehová a la tierra de Canaán, y la posesión de nuestra heredad será de esta parte del Jordán.
33 So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land including its cities and the territory surrounding them.
Así Moisés les dió, a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén, y a la media tribu de Manasés, hijo de José, el reino de Sejón rey Amorreo, y el reino de Og rey de Basán, la tierra con sus ciudades y términos, las ciudades de la tierra al derredor.
34 And the Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
Y los hijos de Gad edificaron a Dibón y a Atarot, y a Aroer,
35 Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
Y a Rot, y a Sofam, y a Jazer, y a Jegbaa,
36 Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and they built folds for their flocks.
Y a Bet-nemera, y a Bet-arán, ciudades fuertes, y majadas de ovejas.
37 The Reubenites built up Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
Y los hijos de Rubén edificaron a Jesebón, y a Eleale, y a Cariataim,
38 as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (whose names were changed), and Sibmah. And they renamed the cities they rebuilt.
Y a Nebo, y a Baal-meón, mudados los nombres, y a Sabama, y pusieron nombres a las ciudades que edificaron.
39 The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
Y los hijos de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, fueron a Galaad, y tomáronla, y echaron al Amorreo que estaba en ella.
40 So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir son of Manasseh, and they settled there.
Y Moisés dio a Galaad a Maquir hijo de Manasés, el cual habitó en ella.
41 Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, went and captured their villages and called them Havvoth-jair.
También Jair hijo de Manasés fue, y tomó sus aldeas, y púsoles nombre Havot-jair.
42 And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
Asimismo Nobe fue, y tomó a Canat y sus aldeas, y púsole nombre Nobe, conforme a su nombre.
