Numbers 31
1 And the LORD said to Moses,
上主訓示梅瑟說：「
2 “Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people.”
你應在米德楊人身上為以色列子民報仇，以後你就要歸到你親族那裡去。」
3 So Moses told the people, “Arm some of your men for war, that they may go against the Midianites and execute the LORD’s vengeance on them.
梅瑟於是吩咐人民說：「你們要選拔壯丁，武裝起來，準備作戰，進攻米德楊，在他們身上為上主雪仇。
4 Send into battle a thousand men from each tribe of Israel.”
以色列每支派應派遣一千人出征作戰。」
5 So a thousand men were recruited from each tribe of Israel—twelve thousand armed for war.
這樣，每支派出一千人，以色列的部隊共有一萬二千武裝出征的人。
6 And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
梅瑟就派遣他們──每支派一千人，出征作戰，並派遣大司祭厄肋阿匝爾的兒子丕乃哈斯與他們同去，手內帶著聖器和發號令的喇叭，
7 Then they waged war against Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
他們遂照上主對梅瑟所吩咐的，攻擊了米德楊，殺了所有的男子。
8 Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
除這些被殺的以外，還殺了米德楊五個王子：厄威、勒耿、族爾、胡爾和勒巴；也用刀殺了貝敖爾的兒子巴郎。
9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women and their children, and they plundered all their herds, flocks, and goods.
以色列子民俘虜了米德楊人的婦女和幼童，掠奪了他們所有的牲畜、羊群和財產；
10 Then they burned all the cities where the Midianites had lived, as well as all their encampments,
火燒了他們所住的一切城邑和營寨。
11 and carried away all the plunder and spoils, both people and animals.
以後把一切所搶所奪之物，人和牲畜都帶走，
12 They brought the captives, spoils, and plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of Israel at the camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
把俘虜和所搶所奪之物，帶到梅瑟和大司祭厄肋阿匝爾以及以色列子民全會眾那裡，即帶到耶里哥的對面，約但河邊，摩阿布曠野中的營盤那裡。
13 And Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation went to meet them outside the camp.
梅瑟和大司祭厄勒阿匝爾以及會眾各首領，都到營外歡迎他們。
14 But Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who were returning from the battle.
梅瑟對作戰回來的軍官、千夫長和百夫長大發忿怒，
15 “Have you spared all the women?” he asked them.
向他們說：「你們為什麼還讓這一些婦女活著﹖
16 “Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
看正是她們聽了巴郎的話誘惑了以色列子民，在培敖爾事件上違背了上主，致使災禍降在上主的會眾身上。
17 So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man,
今應將所有的男童殺死，將所有認識過男人，與男人同過房的女人，都一律殺掉。
18 but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.
至於那些沒有與男人來往同過房的女童，可為你們保留。
19 All of you who have killed a person or touched the dead are to remain outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and the seventh day you are to purify both yourselves and your captives.
你們應七天住在營外；你們和你們的俘虜，凡殺過人，或接觸過屍首的，應在第三天和第七天上取潔；
20 And purify every garment and leather good, everything made of goat’s hair, and every article of wood.”
對所有的衣服、皮具、毛織品和木器，都應行取潔禮。」
21 Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses:
大司祭厄肋阿匝爾對作戰回來的軍隊說：「這是上主吩咐梅瑟的法令：
22 Only the gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead—
金銀、銅、鐵、錫、鉛，
23 everything that can withstand the fire—must be put through the fire, and it will be clean. But it must still be purified with the water of purification. And everything that cannot withstand the fire must pass through the water.
凡能耐火之物，應經過火，再以取潔水取潔，才算潔淨；凡不能耐火之物，應經過水洗。
24 On the seventh day you are to wash your clothes, and you will be clean. After that you may enter the camp.”
第七天應洗你們的衣服，你們才算潔淨，然後方可回營。」
25 The LORD said to Moses,
上主又訓示梅瑟說：「
26 “You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the congregation are to take a count of what was captured, both of man and beast.
你和厄肋阿匝爾司祭以及會眾的家長，應統計一下掠奪的勝利品，無論是人或牲畜，
27 Then divide the captives between the troops who went out to battle and the rest of the congregation.
然後把勝利品平分，一半給出征作戰的兵士，一半給其餘全體會眾。
28 Set aside a tribute for the LORD from what belongs to the soldiers who went into battle: one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, or sheep.
由出征作戰的兵士所得的一分中，抽出五百分之一，不論是人、牛、驢或羊，奉獻給上主；
29 Take it from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest as an offering to the LORD.
把所取出的交給厄肋阿匝爾司祭，作為屬於上主的獻儀。
30 From the Israelites’ half, take one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, or other animals, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.”
由以色列子民分得的一半中，應抽出五十分之一，不論是人、牛、驢、羊，或是其他牲畜，交給那些在上主會幕內服務的肋未人。」
31 So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD had commanded Moses,
梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭就照上主吩咐梅瑟的做了。
32 and this plunder remained from the spoils the soldiers had taken: 675,000 sheep,
作戰部隊所掠奪的物品，尚存的戰利品，計有羊六十七萬五千隻，
33 72,000 cattle,
牛七萬二千頭，
34 61,000 donkeys,
驢六萬一千匹；
35 and 32,000 women who had not slept with a man.
人口，尚未與男人來往同過房的女人，計有三萬二千。
36 This was the half portion for those who had gone to war: 337,500 sheep,
出征作戰所得的一半，計羊三十三萬七千五百隻；
37 including a tribute to the LORD of 675,
由這些羊中，給上主作獻儀的，為六百七十五隻；
38 36,000 cattle, including a tribute to the LORD of 72,
牛三萬六千頭，給上主作獻儀的，為七十二頭；
39 30,500 donkeys, including a tribute to the LORD of 61,
驢三萬五百匹，給上主作獻儀的，為六十一匹；
40 and 16,000 people, including a tribute to the LORD of 32.
人口一萬六千，給上主作獻儀的，為三十二人。
41 Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as an offering for the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
梅瑟就照上主對他所吩咐的，將取出作為上主獻儀的一份，交給了厄肋阿匝爾司祭。
42 From the Israelites’ half, which Moses had set apart from the men who had gone to war,
至於梅瑟分配給以色列子民的那一半，即與作戰的兵士平分出來的，
43 this half belonged to the congregation: 337,500 sheep,
那屬於會眾的一半，計有羊三十三萬七千五百隻，
44 36,000 cattle,
牛三萬六千頭，
45 30,500 donkeys,
驢三萬五百匹，
46 and 16,000 people.
人口一萬六千。
47 From the Israelites’ half, Moses took one out of every fifty persons and animals and gave them to the Levites who kept charge of the tabernacle of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
梅瑟照上主對他所吩咐的，由屬於以色列子民的這一半，抽出五十分之一的人和牲畜，交給了那些在上主會幕內服務的肋未人。
48 Then the officers who were over the units of the army—the commanders of thousands and of hundreds—approached Moses
出征作戰的軍官，千夫長和百夫長，來到梅瑟前，
49 and said, “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one of us is missing.
對他說：「你的僕人們調查了所屬的作戰士兵，一個也沒有少。
50 So we have brought to the LORD an offering of the gold articles each man acquired—armlets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces—to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.”
為此我們每人將所獲得的金器，如臂鐲、腕鐲、戒指、耳環和項鏈，獻於上主作獻儀，好在上主面前為我們贖罪。」
51 So Moses and Eleazar the priest received from them all the articles made out of gold.
梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭由他們手中接受了這一切金製物品。
52 All the gold that the commanders of thousands and of hundreds presented as an offering to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
千夫長和百夫長獻給上主作獻儀的金子，共計一萬六千七百五十「協刻耳。」
53 Each of the soldiers had taken plunder for himself.
兵丁所掠奪的東西，各歸己有。
54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭遂將由千夫長和百夫長所收下的金子，帶入會幕內，好使上主記念以色列子民。
