< Numbers 21 >

1 When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some prisoners.
Idi nadamag ti ari iti Arad a Cananeo nga agnanaed idiay Negev, nga agdaldaliasat dagiti Israelita iti kalsada nga agturong idiay Atarim, rinautna dagiti Israelita ken innalana a balud ti sumagmamano kadakuada.
2 So Israel made a vow to the LORD: “If You will deliver this people into our hands, we will devote their cities to destruction.”
Nagsapata dagiti Israelita kenni Yahweh ket kinunada, “No itedmo kadakami ti balligi maibusor kadagitoy a tattao, ket dadaelenmi a naan-anay dagiti siudadda.”
3 And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah.
Dinengngeg ni Yahweh ti timek dagiti Israelita ket intedna kadakuada ti balligi kadagiti Cananeo. Dinadaelda ida a naan-anay ken dagiti siudadda. Naawagan dayta a lugar a Horma.
4 Then they set out from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the land of Edom. But the people grew impatient on the journey
Nagdaliasatda manipud iti Bantay Hor nga agturong iti baybay dagiti Runo tapno likmutenda ti daga ti Edom. Kasta unay ti pannakadismaya dagiti tattao bayat nga addada iti dalan.
5 and spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you led us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”
Nagsao dagiti tattao maibusor iti Dios ken ni Moises: “Apay nga impanawnakami manipud iti Egipto tapno matay iti let-ang? Awan tinapay, awan danum ken saanmi a kayat daytoy makauma a makan.”
6 So the LORD sent venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were bitten and died.
Ket nangibaon ni Yahweh kadagiti nagita nga uleg kadagiti tattao. Kinagat dagitoy nga uleg dagiti tattao; adu a tattao ti natay.
7 Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses interceded for the people.
Immasideg dagiti tattao kenni Moises ket kinunada, “Nagbasolkami gapu ta nagsaokami iti maibusor kenka ken ni Yahweh. Agkararagka kenni Yahweh tapno ikkatenna dagitoy nga uleg kadakami.” Ngarud, inkararagan ni Moises dagiti tattao.
8 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Moises, “Mangaramidka iti sinan-uleg ken ikapetmo daytoy iti poste. Makalasatto amin a nakagat no kitaenna daytoy.”
9 So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze snake, he would live.
Isu a nagaramid ni Moises iti sinan-uleg a bronse sana inkapet iti poste. Makalasat ti siasinoman a kagaten ti uleg no kumita isuna iti sinan-uleg a bronse.
10 Then the Israelites set out and camped at Oboth.
Kalpasanna, nagtuloy a nagdaliasat dagiti Israelita ket nagkampoda idiay Obot.
11 They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.
Nagdaliasatda manipud Obot ket nagkampoda iti rebba ti Abarim idiay let-ang nga akin-daya a paset ti Moab.
12 From there they set out and camped in the Valley of Zered.
Manipud sadiay intultuloyda ti nagdaliasat ket nagkampoda iti tanap ti Zered.
13 From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the Arnon, in the wilderness that extends into the Amorite territory. Now the Arnon is the border between the Moabites and the Amorites.
Manipud sadiay, intultuloyda ti nagdaliasat ket nagkampoda iti ballasiw ti Karayan Arnon, nga adda iti let-ang a dumanon iti beddeng dagiti Amorreo. Ti Karayan Arnon ti beddeng iti Moab, nagbaetan daytoy ti Moab ken dagiti Amorreo.
14 Therefore it is stated in the Book of the Wars of the LORD: “Waheb in Suphah and the wadis of the Arnon,
Isu't gapuna a nailanad iti nalukot a pagbasaan kadagiti Gubat ni Yahweh, “Waheb idiay Sufa, ken kadagiti tantanap ti Arnon,
15 even the slopes of the wadis that extend to the site of Ar and lie along the border of Moab.”
dagiti pasalog a tantanap nga agturong iti ili ti Ar ken sumalog iti beddeng ti Moab.”
16 From there they went on to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people so that I may give them water.”
Manipud sadiay, nagdaliasatda a nagturong iti Beer, ti ayan iti bubon a nagkunaan idi ni Yahweh kenni Moises. “Ummongem dagiti tattao tapno ikkak ida iti danum.”
17 Then Israel sang this song: “Spring up, O well, all of you sing to it!
Ket inkanta dagiti Israelita daytoy a kanta: “Agubbogka, bubon. Ikantami ti maipapan iti daytoy.
18 The princes dug the well; the nobles of the people hollowed it out with their scepters and with their staffs.” From the wilderness the Israelites went on to Mattanah,
Ti bubon a kinali dagiti mangidadaulo kadakami, ti bubon a kinali dagiti natakneng a tattao babaen iti setro ken dagiti bastonda.” Ket manipud iti let-ang, nagdaliasatda a nagturong iti Matana.
19 and from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,
Manipud iti Matana, nagdaliasatda a nagturong iti Nahaliel, ken manipud Nahaliel, nagturongda idiay Bamot,
20 and from Bamoth to the valley in Moab where the top of Pisgah overlooks the wasteland.
ken manipud idiay Bamot nagturongda iti maysa a tanap idiay daga ti Moab. Sadiay, ti tuktok ti Bantay Pisga a matantannawagan ti let-ang.
21 Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
Ket nangibaon dagiti Israelita kadagiti mensaheroda a mapan kenni Sihon nga ari dagiti Amorreo a kunada,
22 “Let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
“Palubosandakami a lumabas iti dagam. Saankami a sumrek iti aniaman a talon wenno kaubasan. Saankami nga uminom iti danum kadagiti bubonmo. Agdaliasatkami iti kangrunaan a kalsada ti ari agingga a malabsanmi ti beddengmo.”
23 But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and went out to confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.
Ngem saan nga impalubos ni Ari Sihon a lumabas iti beddengda dagiti Israelita. Ngem ketdi, inummong ni Sihon dagiti amin a soldadona ket rinautda dagiti Israelita idiay let-ang. Napan isuna idiay Jaaz a nangrautanna kadagiti Israelita.
24 And Israel put him to the sword and took possession of his land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok—but only up to the border of the Ammonites, because it was fortified.
Rinaut dagiti Israelita dagiti soldado ni Sihon babaen iti tirad ti kampilanda ket tinagikuada ti dagdagada manipud Arnon agingga iti karayan Jabbok, agingga iti daga dagiti Amonita. Ita, napatibker ti beddeng dagiti Amonita.
25 Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites and occupied them, including Heshbon and all its villages.
Sinakup dagiti Israelita amin a siudad dagiti Amorreo ket nagnaedda kadagitoy, kasta met idiay Hesbon ken kadagiti amin a barbario.
26 Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the Arnon.
Ti Hesbon ket siudad ni Sihon nga ari dagiti Amorreo, ti nakiranget iti sigud nga ari iti Moab. Sinakup amin ni Sihon ti daga ti Moab manipud iti masakupanna agingga iti Karayan Arnon.
27 That is why the poets say: “Come to Heshbon, let it be rebuilt; let the city of Sihon be restored.
Dayta ti gapuna a dagiti agsarsarita kadagiti probervio ket kunada, “Umaykayo iti Hesbon. Maibangon ken maipatakder koma manen ti siudad ni Sihon.
28 For a fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of Arnon’s heights.
Adda apuy a rimmuar manipud iti Hesbon, maysa nga apuy manipud iti siudad ni Sihon a nangkisap ti Ar iti Moab, ken dagiti makinkukua kadagiti katurturodan iti Arnon.
29 Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He gave up his sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the Amorites.
Asikayo pay, Moab! Nadadaelkayo, dakayo a tattao iti Kemos. Pinagbalinna a libas a balud dagiti lallaki nga annakna ken dagiti babbai nga annakna ket nagbalinda a balud ni Sihon nga ari dagiti Amorreo.
30 But we have overthrown them; Heshbon is destroyed as far as Dibon. We demolished them as far as Nophah, which reaches to Medeba.”
Ngem naparmekmi ni Sihon. Nadadaelen ti Hesbon agingga idiay Dibon. Naparmekmi amin ida agingga idiay Nofa, a dumanon idiay Medeba.”
31 So Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
Isu a rinugian dagiti Israelita ti agnaed iti daga dagiti Amorreo.
32 After Moses had sent spies to Jazer, Israel captured its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.
Ket nangibaon ni Moises kadagiti lallaki nga agpaliiw idiay Jazer. Sinakupda dagiti il-ilina daytoy ken pinapanawda dagiti Amorreo nga adda sadiay.
33 Then they turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.
Kalpasanna, naglikko dagiti Israelita ket simmang-atda iti dalan nga agturong idiay Basan. Rimmuar ni Og nga ari ti Basan agraman ti armadana tapno darupenda dagiti Israelita, tapno makirangetda kadakuada idiay Edrei.
34 But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.”
Ket kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Moises, “Saanka nga agbuteng kenkuana, gapu ta intedko kenka ti balligi a mangparmek kenkuana, kadagiti amin nga armadana, ken iti dagana. Aramidem kenkuana ti inaramidmo kenni Sihon nga ari dagiti Amorreo, a nagnaed idiay Hesbon.”
35 So they struck down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.
Pinatayda ngarud ni Og, dagiti lallaki nga annakna, ken amin nga armadana, agingga nga awan iti nabati a sibibiag kadagiti tattaona. Ket tinagikuada ti dagana.
