1 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron:
| וידבר יהוה אל משה ואל אהרן לאמר׃ |
2 “The Israelites are to camp around the Tent of Meeting at a distance from it, each man under his standard, with the banners of his family.
| איש על דגלו באתת לבית אבתם יחנו בני ישראל מנגד סביב לאהל מועד יחנו׃ |
3 On the east side, toward the sunrise, the divisions of Judah are to camp under their standard: The leader of the descendants of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab,
| והחנים קדמה מזרחה דגל מחנה יהודה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני יהודה נחשון בן עמינדב׃ |
4 and his division numbers 74,600.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם ארבעה ושבעים אלף ושש מאות׃ |
5 The tribe of Issachar will camp next to it. The leader of the Issacharites is Nethanel son of Zuar,
| והחנים עליו מטה יששכר ונשיא לבני יששכר נתנאל בן צוער׃ |
6 and his division numbers 54,400.
| וצבאו ופקדיו ארבעה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות׃ |
7 Next will be the tribe of Zebulun. The leader of the Zebulunites is Eliab son of Helon,
| מטה זבולן ונשיא לבני זבולן אליאב בן חלן׃ |
8 and his division numbers 57,400.
| וצבאו ופקדיו שבעה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות׃ |
9 The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Judah is 186,400; they shall set out first.
| כל הפקדים למחנה יהודה מאת אלף ושמנים אלף וששת אלפים וארבע מאות לצבאתם ראשנה יסעו׃ |
10 On the south side, the divisions of Reuben are to camp under their standard: The leader of the Reubenites is Elizur son of Shedeur,
| דגל מחנה ראובן תימנה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני ראובן אליצור בן שדיאור׃ |
11 and his division numbers 46,500.
| וצבאו ופקדיו ששה וארבעים אלף וחמש מאות׃ |
12 The tribe of Simeon will camp next to it. The leader of the Simeonites is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai,
| והחונם עליו מטה שמעון ונשיא לבני שמעון שלמיאל בן צורי שדי׃ |
13 and his division numbers 59,300.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם תשעה וחמשים אלף ושלש מאות׃ |
14 Next will be the tribe of Gad. The leader of the Gadites is Eliasaph son of Deuel,
| ומטה גד ונשיא לבני גד אליסף בן דעואל׃ |
15 and his division numbers 45,650.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם חמשה וארבעים אלף ושש מאות וחמשים׃ |
16 The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Reuben is 151,450; they shall set out second.
| כל הפקדים למחנה ראובן מאת אלף ואחד וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות וחמשים לצבאתם ושנים יסעו׃ |
17 In the middle of the camps, the Tent of Meeting is to travel with the camp of the Levites. They are to set out in the order they encamped, each in his own place under his standard.
| ונסע אהל מועד מחנה הלוים בתוך המחנת כאשר יחנו כן יסעו איש על ידו לדגליהם׃ |
18 On the west side, the divisions of Ephraim are to camp under their standard: The leader of the Ephraimites is Elishama son of Ammihud,
| דגל מחנה אפרים לצבאתם ימה ונשיא לבני אפרים אלישמע בן עמיהוד׃ |
19 and his division numbers 40,500.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם ארבעים אלף וחמש מאות׃ |
20 The tribe of Manasseh will be next to it. The leader of the Manassites is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur,
| ועליו מטה מנשה ונשיא לבני מנשה גמליאל בן פדהצור׃ |
21 and his division numbers 32,200.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם שנים ושלשים אלף ומאתים׃ |
22 Next will be the tribe of Benjamin. The leader of the Benjamites is Abidan son of Gideoni,
| ומטה בנימן ונשיא לבני בנימן אבידן בן גדעני׃ |
23 and his division numbers 35,400.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם חמשה ושלשים אלף וארבע מאות׃ |
24 The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Ephraim is 108,100; they shall set out third.
| כל הפקדים למחנה אפרים מאת אלף ושמנת אלפים ומאה לצבאתם ושלשים יסעו׃ |
25 On the north side, the divisions of Dan are to camp under their standard: The leader of the Danites is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai,
| דגל מחנה דן צפנה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני דן אחיעזר בן עמישדי׃ |
26 and his division numbers 62,700.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם שנים וששים אלף ושבע מאות׃ |
27 The tribe of Asher will camp next to it. The leader of the Asherites is Pagiel son of Ocran,
| והחנים עליו מטה אשר ונשיא לבני אשר פגעיאל בן עכרן׃ |
28 and his division numbers 41,500.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם אחד וארבעים אלף וחמש מאות׃ |
29 Next will be the tribe of Naphtali. The leader of the Naphtalites is Ahira son of Enan,
| ומטה נפתלי ונשיא לבני נפתלי אחירע בן עינן׃ |
30 and his division numbers 53,400.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם שלשה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות׃ |
31 The total number of men in the camp of Dan is 157,600; they shall set out last, under their standards.”
| כל הפקדים למחנה דן מאת אלף ושבעה וחמשים אלף ושש מאות לאחרנה יסעו לדגליהם׃ |
32 These are the Israelites, numbered according to their families. The total of those counted in the camps, by their divisions, was 603,550.
| אלה פקודי בני ישראל לבית אבתם כל פקודי המחנת לצבאתם שש מאות אלף ושלשת אלפים וחמש מאות וחמשים׃ |
33 But the Levites were not counted among the other Israelites, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
| והלוים לא התפקדו בתוך בני ישראל כאשר צוה יהוה את משה׃ |
34 So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; they camped under their standards in this way and set out in the same way, each man with his clan and his family.
| ויעשו בני ישראל ככל אשר צוה יהוה את משה כן חנו לדגליהם וכן נסעו איש למשפחתיו על בית אבתיו׃ |
