< Numbers 17 >

1 And the LORD said to Moses,
Emegbe la, Yehowa gblɔ na Mose be,
2 “Speak to the Israelites and take from them twelve staffs, one from the leader of each tribe. Write each man’s name on his staff,
“Gblɔ na Israelviwo be, ‘Ele be toawo ƒe kplɔla ɖe sia ɖe natsɔ atikplɔ si dzi wòŋlɔ eƒe ŋkɔ ɖo la vɛ na wò.
3 and write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi, because there must be one staff for the head of each tribe.
Ele be Aron ƒe ŋkɔ nanɔ Levi ƒe viwo ƒe to la tɔ dzi.
4 Place the staffs in the Tent of Meeting in front of the Testimony, where I meet with you.
Tsɔ atikplɔ siawo da ɖe agbadɔ la ƒe xɔ emetɔ me, afi si medoa go wò le, le nubablaɖaka la ŋgɔ.
5 The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid Myself of the constant grumbling of the Israelites against you.”
Mawɔ atikplɔ siawo ŋu dɔ be made dzesi ame si metia, elabena amea ƒe atikplɔ azu ati gbagbe, eye wòadze! Ekema Israelviwo ƒe liʋĩliʋĩlilĩ ɖe mia ŋu nu atso!’”
6 So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and each of their leaders gave him a staff—one for each of the leaders of their tribes, twelve staffs in all. And Aaron’s staff was among them.
Ale Mose gblɔ nya la na Israelviwo. Kplɔlawo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe, ame siwo dome Aron hã nɔ la, tsɔ atikplɔ ɖeka vɛ.
7 Then Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.
Mose tsɔ atikplɔawo da ɖe Yehowa ŋkume le agbadɔ la ƒe xɔ emetɔ me.
8 The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had sprouted, put forth buds, blossomed, and produced almonds.
Esi ŋu ke wòyi la, ekpɔ be Aron ƒe atikplɔ si nye Levi ƒe to la tɔ la dze, eye seƒoƒowo de asi keke me le eŋu!
9 Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD’s presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff.
Esi Mose kɔ atikplɔawo tso Yehowa ƒe ŋkume do goe va fia Israelviwo la, wotsi yaa kple dzimaxɔse! Ame sia ame xɔ eƒe atikplɔ negbe Aron ko.
10 The LORD said to Moses, “Put Aaron’s staff back in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign for the rebellious, so that you may put an end to their grumbling against Me, lest they die.”
Yehowa gblɔ na Mose be wòatsɔ Aron ƒe atikplɔ la ada ɖe nubablaɖaka la xa, wòanɔ afi ma tegbetegbe be wòaɖo ŋku aglãdzedze sia dzi na ameawo. 11 So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him.
Ale Mose wɔ nu siwo Yehowa ɖo nɛ.
12 Then the Israelites declared to Moses, “Look, we are perishing! We are lost; we are all lost!
Israelviwo gblɔ na Mose be, “Míaku! Míebu, mí katã míebu!
13 Anyone who comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to perish?”
Ame sia ame si ate ɖe Yehowa ƒe agbadɔ la ŋu la, aku. Ɖe mí katã míele kuku gea?”
