Matthew 1
1 This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
೧ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ.
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
೨ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಇಸಾಕನು. ಇಸಾಕನ ಮಗನು ಯಾಕೋಬನು. ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೂದನು, ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು.
3 Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram.
೩ಯೆಹೂದನಿಗೆ ತಾಮಾರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆರೆಚನು, ಜೆರಹನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಪೆರೆಚನ ಮಗನು ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನು.
4 Ram was the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon.
೪ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನ ಮಗನು ಅರಾಮನು. ಅರಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನು. ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನ ಮಗನು ನಹಶೋನನು. ನಹಶೋನನ ಮಗನು ಸಲ್ಮೋನನು.
5 Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
೫ಸಲ್ಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೋವಜನು ರಾಹಾಬಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು. ಬೋವಜನ ಮಗನು ಓಬೇದನು ರೂತಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು. ಓಬೇದನ ಮಗನು ಇಷಯನು.
6 and Jesse the father of David the king. Next: David was the father of Solomon by Uriah’s wife,
೬ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು.
7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa.
೭ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನು ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು. ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಬೀಯನು. ಅಬೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಆಸನು.
8 Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah.
೮ಆಸನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು. ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನು.
9 Uzziah was the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.
೯ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಯೋತಾಮನು. ಯೋತಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಆಹಾಜನನು. ಆಹಾಜನ ಮಗನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು.
10 Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah,
೧೦ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯನು. ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಮಗನು ಆಮೋನನು.
11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
೧೧ಆಮೋನ ಮಗನು ಯೋಷೀಯನು. ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಷೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು, ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
12 After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
೧೨ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು ಶೆಯಲ್ತಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು. ಶೆಯಲ್ತಿಯೇಲನ ಮಗನು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನು
13 Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor.
೧೩ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನ ಮಗನು ಅಬಿಹೂದನು. ಅಬಿಹೂದನ ಮಗನು ಎಲ್ಯಕೀಮನು. ಎಲ್ಯಕೀಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಜೋರನು.
14 Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud.
೧೪ಅಜೋರನ ಮಗನು ಸದೋಕನು. ಸದೋಕನ ಮಗನು ಅಖೀಮನು. ಅಖೀಮನ ಮಗನು ಎಲಿಹೂದನು.
15 Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
೧೫ಎಲಿಹೂದನ ಮಗನು ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನು. ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ಮಗನು ಮತ್ತಾನನು. ಮತ್ತಾನನ ಮಗನು ಯಾಕೋಬನು.
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
೧೬ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು ಯೋಸೇಫನು. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮರಿಯಳ ಗಂಡನು. ಈ ಮರಿಯಳಿಂದಲೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂಬ ಯೇಸು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದನು.
17 In all, then, there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.
೧೭ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನ ವರೆಗೂ ಒಟ್ಟು ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ದಾವೀದನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ದಾಸತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೂ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನವರೆಗೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged in marriage to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
೧೮ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಜನನವು ಹೇಗಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೂ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೂ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಾಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಮರಿಯಳು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು.
19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and was unwilling to disgrace her publicly, he resolved to divorce her quietly.
೧೯ಆದರೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಬಯಲಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡದೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮುರಿದುಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
20 But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
೨೦ಅವನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ದೇವದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, “ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನೇ, ನೀನು ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಜಬೇಡ. ಆಕೆ ಗರ್ಭವತಿಯಾದದ್ದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೇ.
21 She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
೨೧ಆಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ನೀನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನೇ ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು,” ಅಂದನು.
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
೨೨ಕರ್ತನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಯಿತು; ಆ ಮಾತು ಏನೆಂದರೆ,
23 “Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
೨೩“ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ಆತನಿಗೆ ಇಮ್ಮಾನುವೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡುವರು. ‘ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು’ ಈ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಅರ್ಥ.”
24 When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and embraced Mary as his wife.
೨೪ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತು ದೇವದೂತನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.
೨೫ಆದರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಜನ್ಮನೀಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಆಕೆಯೊಡನೆ ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
