Matthew 6
1 “Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
೧“ಜನರು ನೋಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ‘ಧರ್ಮಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು’ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಮಗೆಫಲದೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
2 So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.
೨“ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ದಾನಕೊಡುವಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚಾರಪಡಿಸಬೇಡ; ಜನರಿಂದ ಹೊಗಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕಪಟಿಗಳು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
೩ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ದಾನ ಕೊಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈ ದಾನಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಎಡಗೈಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರಲಿ.
4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
೪ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಫಲಕೊಡುವನು.
5 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.
೫“ನೀವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಕಪಟಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಜನರು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೀದಿಚೌಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
6 But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
೬ನೀನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವಾಗನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡು. ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಫಲಕೊಡುವನು.
7 And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard.
೭ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ; ಅವರು ಬಹಳ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
೮ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಅವರ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನೇನು ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂಬುದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
9 So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
೯ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಬೇಕು,
10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
೧೦“ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮವು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಬರಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತವು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೆರವೇರಲಿ.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
೧೧ನಮ್ಮ ಅನುದಿನದ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಮಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸು.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
೧೨ನಮಗೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದವರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
೧೩ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶೋಧನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸದೆ ಕೆಡುಕನಿಂದ; ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸು
14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
೧೪ನೀವು ಜನರ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವನು.
15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.
೧೫ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಜನರ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸದೇ ಹೋದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಸಹ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
16 When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.
೧೬“ಇದಲ್ಲದೆನೀವು ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಕಪಟಿಗಳಂತೆ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಸಪ್ಪಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅವರು ತಾವು ಉಪವಾಸಿಗಳೆಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಬರುವಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ವಿಕಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
೧೭ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುವಾಗ ತಲೆಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೋ.
18 so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
೧೮ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಉಪವಾಸಿಯೆಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸಿಯೆಂದು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ. ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಕೊಡುವನು.
19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
೧೯“ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ನುಸಿ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಕಿಲುಬು ಹತ್ತಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವುದು; ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳರು ಕನ್ನಾಕೊರೆದು ಕದಿಯುವರು.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
೨೦ಆದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ನುಸಿ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಕಿಲುಬು ಹತ್ತಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳರು ಕನ್ನಾಕೊರೆಯುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕದಿಯುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ,
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
೨೧ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಇರುತ್ತದಷ್ಟೆ.
22 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.
೨೨“ಕಣ್ಣು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ದೀಪವಾಗಿದೆ; ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿರುವುದು.
23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
೨೩ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಿರುವುದು. ನಿನ್ನೊಳಗಿರುವ ಬೆಳಕೇ ಕತ್ತಲಾದರೆ ಆ ಕತ್ತಲು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಹತ್ತರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು!
24 No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
೨೪“ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಲಾರನು. ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನುದ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ.
25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
೨೫“ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ, ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಊಟಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಏನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಊಟಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಉಡುಪಿಗಿಂತ ದೇಹವು ಮೇಲಾದುದಲ್ಲವೇ.
26 Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
೨೬ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ; ಅವು ಬಿತ್ತುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೊಯ್ಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಣಜಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕಿ ಸಲಹುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ನೀವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರಲ್ಲವೋ?
27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
೨೭ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೀವಿತಾವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಮೊಳಉದ್ದ ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಂದಾದೀತು?
28 And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labor or spin.
೨೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಉಡುಪಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡುವುದೇಕೆ? ಅಡವಿಯ ಹೂವುಗಳು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅವು ದುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೂಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ;
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.
೨೯ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಆ ಹೂವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಕಲ ವೈಭವದಿಂದಿರುವಾಗಲೂ ಸಹ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
೩೦ಎಲೈ ಅಲ್ಪ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇದ್ದು ನಾಳೆ ಒಲೆಯ ಪಾಲಾಗುವ ಅಡವಿಯ ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೇ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿ ತೊಡಿಸುವನಲ್ಲವೇ!
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
೩೧ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ‘ಏನು ಊಟಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು, ಏನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
32 For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
೩೨ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳು ತವಕಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
೩೩ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ನೀವು ಮೊದಲು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹುಡುಕಿರಿ. ಇವುಗಳ ಕೂಡ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೊರಕುವವು.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
೩೪ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾಳಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಾಳಿನ ದಿನವು ತನ್ನದನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು. ಆ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ಪಾಡೇ ಆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸಾಕು.
