Matthew 21
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent out two disciples,
Quando chegaram perto de Jerusalém e vieram a Betfagé, ao Monte das Oliveiras, então Jesus enviou dois discípulos,
2 saying to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt beside her. Untie them and bring them to Me.
dizendo-lhes: “Ide à aldeia que vos é oposta, e imediatamente encontrareis um jumento amarrado, e um jumentinho com ela. Desamarre-os e traga-os até mim”.
3 If anyone questions you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
Se alguém lhe disser alguma coisa, você dirá: “O Senhor precisa deles”, e imediatamente os enviará”.
4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
Tudo isso foi feito para que pudesse ser cumprido o que foi dito através do profeta, dizendo,
5 “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”
“Diga à filha de Zion, eis que seu Rei vem até você, humilde, e montado em um burro, em um potro, o potro de um burro”.
6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them.
Os discípulos foram e fizeram exatamente como Jesus lhes ordenou,
7 They brought the donkey and the colt and laid their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
e trouxeram o burro e o jumentinho e colocaram suas roupas sobre eles; e ele se sentou sobre eles.
8 A massive crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Uma multidão muito grande espalhou suas roupas na estrada. Outros cortaram galhos das árvores e os espalharam na estrada.
9 The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
A multidão que ia na frente dele, e os que o seguiam, não paravam de gritar: “Hosana ao filho de David! Abençoado seja aquele que vem em nome do Senhor! Hosana no mais alto”!
10 When Jesus had entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
Quando ele chegou a Jerusalém, toda a cidade estava agitada, dizendo: “Quem é este?”.
11 The crowds replied, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
As multidões disseram: “Este é o profeta, Jesus, de Nazaré da Galiléia”.
12 Then Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.
Jesus entrou no templo de Deus e expulsou todos aqueles que venderam e compraram no templo, e derrubou as mesas dos cambistas e os assentos dos que venderam as pombas.
13 And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
Ele lhes disse: “Está escrito: 'Minha casa será chamada casa de oração', mas vocês fizeram dela um antro de ladrões”.
14 The blind and the lame came to Him at the temple, and He healed them.
O coxo e o cego vieram até ele no templo, e ele os curou.
15 But the chief priests and scribes were indignant when they saw the wonders He performed and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”
Mas quando os chefes dos sacerdotes e os escribas viram as coisas maravilhosas que ele fez, e as crianças que estavam chorando no templo e dizendo: “Hosana ao filho de Davi!” ficaram indignados,
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked. “Yes,” Jesus answered. “Have you never read: ‘From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise’?”
e disseram a ele: “Você ouve o que eles estão dizendo? Jesus lhes disse: “Sim. Você nunca leu: 'Da boca das crianças e dos bebês amamentando, você tem elogios perfeitos'”?
17 Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where He spent the night.
Ele os deixou e saiu da cidade para Bethany, e acampou lá.
18 In the morning, as Jesus was returning to the city, He was hungry.
Agora de manhã, ao voltar para a cidade, ele estava com fome.
19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, He went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. “May you never bear fruit again!” He said. And immediately the tree withered. (aiōn g165)
Ao ver uma figueira à beira da estrada, ele chegou até ela e não encontrou nada além de folhas. Ele lhe disse: “Que não haja fruto de você para sempre”. Imediatamente a figueira murchou. (aiōn g165)
20 When the disciples saw this, they marveled and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”
Quando os discípulos a viram, ficaram maravilhados, dizendo: “Como a figueira murchou imediatamente”?
21 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
Jesus lhes respondeu: “Certamente lhes digo, se tiverem fé e não duvidarem, não só farão o que foi feito com a figueira, mas mesmo que dissessem a esta montanha: 'Sejam pegos e lançados ao mar', isso seria feito.
22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Todas as coisas, o que você pedir em oração, acreditando, você receberá”.
23 When Jesus returned to the temple courts and began to teach, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to Him. “By what authority are You doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave You this authority?”
Quando ele entrou no templo, os chefes dos sacerdotes e os anciãos do povo vieram até ele enquanto ele ensinava e disseram: “Com que autoridade você faz essas coisas? Quem lhe deu essa autoridade?”
24 “I will also ask you one question,” Jesus replied, “and if you answer Me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Jesus lhes respondeu: “Também lhe farei uma pergunta, que se me disser, também lhe direi com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
25 What was the source of John’s baptism? Was it from heaven or from men?” They deliberated among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will ask, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
O batismo de João, de onde foi? Do céu ou dos homens”? Eles raciocinavam consigo mesmos, dizendo: “Se dissermos: 'Do céu', ele nos perguntará: 'Por que então não acreditaram nele?
26 But if we say, ‘From men,’ we are afraid of the people, for they all regard John as a prophet.”
Mas se dissermos: 'Dos homens', tememos a multidão, pois todos têm João como profeta”.
27 So they answered, “We do not know.” And Jesus replied, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Eles responderam a Jesus, e disseram: “Não sabemos”. Ele também lhes disse: “Nem eu lhes direi com que autoridade faço estas coisas”.
28 But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first one and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
Mas o que você acha? Um homem tinha dois filhos, e veio ao primeiro, e disse: “Filho, vai trabalhar hoje na minha vinha”.
29 ‘I will not,’ he replied. But later he changed his mind and went.
Ele respondeu: 'Não vou', mas depois mudou de idéia e foi.
30 Then the man went to the second son and told him the same thing. ‘I will, sir,’ he said. But he did not go.
Ele veio ao segundo, e disse a mesma coisa. Ele respondeu: 'Eu vou, senhor', mas não foi.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
Qual dos dois fez a vontade de seu pai?”. Eles lhe disseram: “O primeiro”. Jesus lhes disse: “Certamente eu lhes digo que os cobradores de impostos e as prostitutas estão entrando no Reino de Deus diante de vocês.
32 For John came to you in a righteous way and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
Pois João veio até vocês no caminho da justiça, e vocês não acreditaram nele; mas os cobradores de impostos e as prostitutas acreditaram nele. Quando você o viu, nem mesmo se arrependeu depois, para que pudesse acreditar nele.
33 Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it, and built a tower. Then he rented it out to some tenants and went away on a journey.
“Ouça outra parábola. Havia um homem que era dono de uma casa que plantou uma vinha, colocou uma sebe sobre ela, cavou um lagar, construiu uma torre, arrendou-a a fazendeiros e foi para outro país.
34 When the harvest time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his share of the fruit.
Quando chegou a época da fruta, ele enviou seus servos aos fazendeiros para receber sua fruta.
35 But the tenants seized his servants. They beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
Os fazendeiros levaram seus servos, espancaram um, mataram outro e apedrejaram outro.
36 Again, he sent other servants, more than the first group. But the tenants did the same to them.
Novamente, ele enviou outros servos mais do que os primeiros; e eles os trataram da mesma maneira.
37 Finally, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
Mas depois ele enviou a eles seu filho, dizendo: “Eles respeitarão meu filho”.
38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.’
Mas os fazendeiros, quando viram o filho, disseram entre si: 'Este é o herdeiro'. Venha, vamos matá-lo e confiscar sua herança”.
39 So they seized him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Então eles o pegaram e o expulsaram da vinha, depois o mataram.
40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard returns, what will he do to those tenants?”
Quando, portanto, vier o senhor da vinha, o que ele fará àqueles agricultores”?
41 “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied, “and will rent out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the fruit at harvest time.”
Eles lhe disseram: “Ele destruirá miseravelmente esses homens miseráveis e arrendará o vinhedo a outros agricultores que lhe darão a fruta em sua estação”.
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Jesus lhes disse: “Vocês nunca leram as Escrituras, “A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram foi feita a cabeça da esquina. Isto foi do Senhor. É maravilhoso aos nossos olhos”?
43 Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
“Por isso vos digo que o Reino de Deus vos será tirado e será dado a uma nação que produz seus frutos”.
44 He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.”
Aquele que cair sobre esta pedra será quebrado em pedaços, mas sobre quem cair, ele o espalhará como pó”.
45 When the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they knew that Jesus was speaking about them.
Quando os sacerdotes chefes e os fariseus ouviram suas parábolas, perceberam que ele falava sobre elas.
46 Although they wanted to arrest Him, they were afraid of the crowds, because the people regarded Him as a prophet.
Quando procuraram capturá-lo, temeram as multidões, porque o consideravam um profeta.
