Matthew 19
1 When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
Y aconteció que después de decir estas palabras, Jesús se fue de Galilea, y llegó a las partes de Judea al otro lado del Jordán.
2 Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
Y un gran número de personas fue tras él; y él los sanó.
3 Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
Y vinieron a él algunos Fariseos, poniéndole a prueba, y diciendo: ¿Es correcto que un hombre repudie a su esposa por cualquier causa?
4 Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’
Y Jesús dijo: ¿No has leído en las Escrituras que el que los hizo primero los hizo hombres y mujeres?
5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
Y dijo: Por esto se apartará un hombre de su padre y de su madre, y se unirá a su esposa; y los dos se convertirán en una sola carne?
6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Para que ya no sean dos, sino una sola carne. Entonces no permitas que lo que ha sido unido por Dios sea separado por el hombre.
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
Le dicen: ¿Por qué, pues, Moisés dio órdenes de que un marido le diera carta de divorcio y repudiarla?
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning.
Y Él les dijo: Moisés, a causa de tus duros corazones, les permitió repudiar a sus mujeres; pero no ha sido así desde el principio.
9 Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.”
Y yo les digo, que cualquiera que repudia a su mujer por cualquier otra cosa salvo por causa de fornicación, y toma a otra, adultera; y el que la toma como su esposa cuando ella es divorciada, adultera.
10 His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”
Los discípulos le dicen: Si esta es la posición de un hombre en relación con su esposa, es mejor no casarse.
11 “Not everyone can accept this word,” He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given.
Pero él les dijo: No todos pueden recibir esta palabra, sino sólo aquellos a quienes se les da.
12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
Porque hay hombres que, desde el nacimiento, no tenían relaciones sexuales; y hay algunos que fueron hechos así por hombres; y hay otros que se han hecho así para el reino de los cielos. Aquel que sea capaz de recibir esto, que lo reciba.
13 Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
Entonces algunos trajeron pequeños niños a él, para poder ponerles las manos encima en bendición; y los discípulos los reprendieron.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Pero Jesús dijo: Dejen que los pequeños vengan a mí, y no se los impidan; porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.
15 And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.
Y él les impuso las manos y se fue.
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
Y vino uno a él, y le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué bien tengo que hacer para tener la vida eterna? (aiōnios g166)
17 “Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
Y él le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Ninguno hay bueno sino uno: Dios. pero si tienes un deseo de entrar a la vida, mantén las reglas de la ley.
18 “Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness,
Él le dice: ¿Cuál? Y Jesús dijo: No mates a nadie, no adulteres, no tomes lo que no es tuyo, no des falso testimonio,
19 honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y ten amor por tu prójimo en cuanto a ti mismo.
20 “All these I have kept,” said the young man. “What do I still lack?”
El joven le dice: Todo esto he hecho desde mi juventud: ¿qué más me falta?
21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
Jesús le dijo: Si quieres ser perfecto, ve, vende lo que tienes, y dáselo a los pobres, y tendrás riquezas en el cielo; y ven en pos de mí.
22 When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.
Al oír estas palabras, el joven se fue triste, porque tenía muchas propiedades.
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Y Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo que es difícil para un hombre con mucho dinero entrar en el reino de los cielos.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Y otra vez les digo, es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja que un hombre con mucho dinero entre al reino de Dios.
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
Y los discípulos, al oír esto, se sorprendieron grandemente, diciendo: ¿Quién puede entonces tener la salvación?
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Y Jesús, mirándolos, dijo: Para los hombres esto no es posible; pero con Dios todo es posible.
27 “Look,” Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?”
Entonces Pedro le dijo: Mira, hemos abandonado todo y hemos venido detrás de ti; ¿qué tendremos?
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto les digo que en el tiempo en que todas las cosas sean renovadas, y el Hijo del Hombre esté sentado en su gloria, y ustedes que me han seguido, que han venido después de mí se sentarán en doce asientos, juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel.
29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Y a todos los que hayan dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o niño, o tierra, por mi nombre, se les dará cien veces más, y tendrán vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
30 But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
Pero un gran número de los primeros serán los últimos, y los últimos serán los primeros.
