Matthew 18
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
൧ആ സമയത്തുതന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു. സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും മഹാനായവൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
2 Jesus invited a little child to stand among them.
൨അവൻ ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിർത്തി:
3 “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
൩നിങ്ങൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ട് ശിശുക്കളെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഒരുവിധത്തിലും കടക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
൪ആകയാൽ ഈ ശിശുവിനെപ്പോലെ തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ ആകും.
5 And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me.
൫ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ശിശുവിനെ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.
6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
൬എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുവനെ ആരെങ്കിലും പാപത്തിലേക്ക് നടത്തിയാലോ അവന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ വലിയൊരു തിരികല്ല് കെട്ടി അവനെ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തിൽ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയുന്നത് അവന് നല്ലത്.
7 Woe to the world for the causes of sin. These stumbling blocks must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!
൭കാരണം; ഇടർച്ച ഹേതുവായി ലോകത്തിനു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അങ്ങനെയുള്ള സമയങ്ങൾ വരേണ്ടത് തന്നേ; എങ്കിലും ഇടർച്ച വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം.
8 If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than to have two hands and two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire. (aiōnios g166)
൮നിന്റെ കയ്യോ കാലോ നിനക്ക് ഇടർച്ച ആയാൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; രണ്ടു കയ്യും രണ്ടു കാലും ഉള്ളവനായി നിത്യാഗ്നിയിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനേക്കാൾ അംഗഹീനനായിട്ടോ മുടന്തനായിട്ടോ ജീവനിൽ കടക്കുന്നത് നിനക്ക് നല്ലത്. (aiōnios g166)
9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell. (Geenna g1067)
൯നിന്റെ കണ്ണ് നിനക്ക് ഇടർച്ച ആയാൽ അതിനെ പിഴുതെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; രണ്ടു കണ്ണുള്ളവനായി അഗ്നിനരകത്തിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനേക്കാൾ ഒറ്റക്കണ്ണനായി ജീവനിൽ കടക്കുന്നത് നിനക്ക് നന്ന്. (Geenna g1067)
10 See that you do not look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven.
൧൦ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുവനേപ്പോലും തുച്ഛീകരിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ.
൧൧സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അവരുടെ ദൂതന്മാർ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ മുഖം എപ്പോഴും കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
12 What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
൧൨നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് തോന്നുന്നു? ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് നൂറു ആട് ഉണ്ട് എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവയിൽ ഒന്ന് വഴിതെറ്റി അലഞ്ഞു പോയാൽ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതിനെയും വിട്ടിട്ട് തെററിപ്പോയതിനെ മലകളിൽ ചെന്ന് തിരയുകയില്ലയോ?
13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
൧൩അതിനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയാൽ തെറ്റിപ്പോകാത്ത തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതിലും അധികം അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് സന്തോഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
14 In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
൧൪അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുവൻ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നത് സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന് ഇഷ്ടമല്ല.
15 If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
൧൫നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ നിന്നോട് പാപം ചെയ്താൽ നീ ചെന്ന് നീയും അവനും മാത്രം ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ കുറ്റം അവന് ബോധ്യം വരുത്തുക; അവൻ നിന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ടാൽ നീ സഹോദരനെ നേടി.
16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
൧൬കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിയാൽ സകല കാര്യവും ഉറപ്പാകേണ്ടതിന് ഒന്ന് രണ്ടുപേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് ചെല്ലുക.
17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
൧൭അവരെ കൂട്ടാക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സഭയോട് അറിയിക്ക; സഭയേയും കൂട്ടാക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ നിനക്ക് പുറജാതിക്കാരനും ചുങ്കക്കാരനും എന്നപോലെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.
18 Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
൧൮നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ കെട്ടുന്നതെല്ലാം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ അഴിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
19 Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.
൧൯ഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളിൽ രണ്ടുപേർ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ട് യാചിക്കുന്ന ഏത് കാര്യമാണെങ്കിലും അത് സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിങ്കൽ നിന്നു അവർക്ക് ലഭിക്കും;
20 For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.”
൨൦രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ പേർ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ കൂടിവരുന്നിടത്തൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഉണ്ട് എന്നും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
൨൧അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, സഹോദരൻ എത്രവട്ടം എനിക്കെതിരായി പാപം ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ ക്ഷമിക്കേണം?
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times, but seventy-seven times!
൨൨ഏഴുവട്ടം മതിയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവനോട്: ഏഴുവട്ടമല്ല, ഏഴ് എഴുപത് വട്ടം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23 Because of this, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
൨൩സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുമായി കണക്ക് തീർപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.
24 As he began the settlements, a debtor was brought to him owing ten thousand talents.
൨൪അവൻ കണക്ക് നോക്കിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ പതിനായിരം താലന്ത് കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരുവനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
25 Since the man was unable to pay, the master ordered that he be sold to pay his debt, along with his wife and children and everything he owned.
൨൫അവന് വീട്ടുവാൻ വകയില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെയും ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും അവനുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റ് കടം തീർപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
26 Then the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Have patience with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’
൨൬അതുകൊണ്ട് ആ ദാസൻ വീണു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: യജമാനനേ എന്നോട് ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ സകലവും തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27 His master had compassion on him, forgave his debt, and released him.
൨൭അപ്പോൾ ആ ദാസന്റെ യജമാനൻ മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞ് അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു കടവും ഇളച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
28 But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe me!’
൨൮ആ ദാസൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ തനിക്കു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരു കൂട്ടുദാസനെ കണ്ട് തൊണ്ടയ്ക്ക് പിടിച്ച് ഞെക്കി: നിന്റെ കടം തീർക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 So his fellow servant fell down and begged him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you back.’
൨൯അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസൻ: നിലത്തുവീണു എന്നോട് ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു അവനോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
30 But he refused. Instead, he went and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay his debt.
൩൦എന്നാൽ അവൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ഉടനെ ചെന്ന് കടം വീട്ടുവോളം അവനെ തടവിൽ ആക്കിച്ചു.
31 When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went and recounted all of this to their master.
൩൧ഈ സംഭവിച്ചത് അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസന്മാർ കണ്ടിട്ട് വളരെ ദുഃഖിച്ചു, ചെന്ന് സംഭവിച്ചത് ഒക്കെയും യജമാനനെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
32 Then the master summoned him and declared, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave all your debt because you begged me.
൩൨യജമാനൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: ദുഷ്ടദാസനേ, നീ എന്നോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുകയാൽ ഞാൻ ആ കടം ഒക്കെയും ഇളച്ചുതന്നുവല്ലോ.
33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?’
൩൩എനിക്ക് നിന്നോട് കരുണ തോന്നിയതുപോലെ നിനക്കും കൂട്ടുദാസനോട് കരുണ തോന്നേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു
34 In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should repay all that he owed.
൩൪അങ്ങനെ യജമാനൻ കോപിച്ചു, അവൻ കടമൊക്കെയും തീർക്കുവോളം അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു
35 That is how My heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”
൩൫നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ സഹോദരനോട് ഹൃദയപൂർവ്വം ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവ് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ നിങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്യും.
