Matthew 17
1 After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
੧ਯਿਸੂ ਛੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
2 There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
੨ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਜਿਹੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
3 Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them, talking with Jesus.
੩ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਜੋ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters —one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
੪ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਡੇਰੇ ਬਣਾਵਾਂ, ਇੱਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ, ਇੱਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਲਈ।
5 While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”
੫ਉਹ ਬੋਲ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਛਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਉਸ ਬੱਦਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਆਈ, ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੁਣੋ!
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror.
੬ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਗਏ।
7 Then Jesus came over and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.”
੭ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਉੱਠੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ।
8 And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
੮ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ।
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”
੯ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾ ਜੀ ਉੱਠੇ, ਇਸ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸਿਓ।
10 The disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
੧੦ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਫੇਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਉਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ?
11 Jesus replied, “Elijah does indeed come, and he will restore all things.
੧੧ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਠੀਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਹਾਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him whatever they wished. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.”
੧੨ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਆ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।
13 Then the disciples understood that He was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
੧੩ਤਦ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
14 When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus and knelt before Him.
੧੪ਜਦ ਉਹ ਭੀੜ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ,
15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.
੧੫ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰੋ! ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਿਰਗੀ ਦੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰੀ ਅੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।
17 “O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.”
੧੭ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਹੇ ਅਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ? ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਂਗਾ? ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਓ।
18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
੧੮ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਤ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
19 Afterward the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
੧੯ਤਦ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਕੱਢ ਸਕੇ?
20 “Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
੨੦ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਈ ਦੇ ਦਾਣੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੋਗੇ, ਜੋ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
੨੧ਪਰ ਇਹ ਜਾਤੀ ਵਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀ।
22 When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.
੨੨ਜਦ ਉਹ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ, ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਫੜਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
23 They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply grieved.
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਜੀ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਏ।
24 After they had arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Does your Teacher pay the two drachmas?”
੨੪ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੈਕਲ ਦੀ ਚੁੰਗੀ ਉਗਰਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਚੁੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
25 “Yes,” he answered. When Peter entered the house, Jesus preempted him. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?”
੨੫ਜਦ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਕਰ ਜਾਂ ਮਸੂਲ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂ ਪਰਾਇਆਂ ਤੋਂ?
26 “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus declared.
੨੬ਤਦ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਪਰਾਇਆਂ ਤੋਂ, ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਫੇਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਫ਼ ਹੋਏ।
27 “But so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish you catch. When you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for My tax and yours.”
੨੭ਪਰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਠੋਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਾ ਬਣੀਏ, ਤੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਝੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੰਡੀ ਸੁੱਟ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਪਾਏਂਗਾ, ਸੋ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੀਂ।
