Matthew 17
1 After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
১ছয় দিন পরে যীশু কেবল পিতর, যাকোব ও তাঁর ভাই যোহনকে সঙ্গে করে এক উঁচু পাহাড়ের নির্জন জায়গায় নিয়ে গেলেন।
2 There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
২পরে তিনি তাঁদের সামনেই চেহার পাল্টালেন, তাঁর মুখ সূর্য্যের মতো উজ্জ্বল এবং তাঁর পোশাক আলোর মতো সাদা হল।
3 Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them, talking with Jesus.
৩আর দেখ, মোশি ও এলিয় তাঁদের দেখা দিলেন, তাঁরা যীশুর সঙ্গে কথা বলতে লাগলেন।
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters —one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
৪তখন পিতর যীশুকে বললেন, “প্রভু, এখানে আমাদের থাকা ভাল, যদি আপনার ইচ্ছা হয়, তবে আমি এখানে তিনটি কুটির তৈরী করি, একটি আপনার জন্য, একটি মোশির জন্য এবং একটি এলিয়ের জন্য।”
5 While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”
৫তিনি কথা বলছিলেন, এমন দিন দেখা গেল, একটি উজ্জ্বল মেঘ তাঁদের ছায়া করল, আর, সেই মেঘ থেকে এই বাণী হল, ইনিই আমার প্রিয় পুত্র, এঁর ওপর আমি সন্তুষ্ট, এঁর কথা শোন।
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror.
৬এই কথা শুনে শিষ্যেরা উপুড় হয়ে পড়লেন এবং অত্যন্ত ভয় পেলেন।
7 Then Jesus came over and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.”
৭পরে যীশু কাছে এসে তাঁদের স্পর্শ করে বললেন, ওঠো, ভয় কর না।
8 And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
৮তখন তাঁরা চোখ তুলে আর কাউকে দেখতে পেলেন না, সেখানে শুধু যীশু একা ছিলেন।
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”
৯পাহাড় থেকে নেমে আসার দিনের যীশু তাঁদের এই আদেশ দিলেন, যে পর্যন্ত মনুষ্যপুত্র মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে জীবিত হয়ে না ওঠেন, সে পর্যন্ত তোমরা এই দর্শনের কথা কাউকে বোলো না।
10 The disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
১০তখন শিষ্যেরা তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, তবে ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকেরা কেন বলেন যে, প্রথমে এলিয়কে আসতে হবে?
11 Jesus replied, “Elijah does indeed come, and he will restore all things.
১১যীশু এর উত্তরে বললেন, “হ্যাঁ সত্যি, এলিয় আসবেন এবং সব কিছু পুনরায় স্থাপন করবেন।”
12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him whatever they wished. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.”
১২কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এলিয় এসেছিলেন এবং লোকেরা তাঁকে চিনতে পারেনি, বরং তাঁর প্রতি যা ইচ্ছা, তাই করেছে, একইভাবে মানবপুত্রকেও তাদের থেকে দুঃখ সহ্য করতে হবে।
13 Then the disciples understood that He was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
১৩তখন শিষ্যেরা বুঝলেন যে, তিনি তাঁদের বাপ্তিষ্মদাতা যোহনের বিষয় বলছেন।
14 When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus and knelt before Him.
১৪পরে, তাঁরা লোকদের কাছে এলে এক ব্যক্তি তাঁর কাছে এসে হাঁটু গেঁড়ে বলল,
15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.
১৫“প্রভু, আমার ছেলেকে দয়া করুন, কারণ সে মৃগী রোগে আক্রান্ত এবং খুবই কষ্ট পাচ্ছে, আর সে বার বার জলে ও আগুনে পড়ে যায়।
16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
১৬আর আমি আপনার শিষ্যদের কাছে তাকে এনেছিলাম, কিন্তু তাঁরা তাকে সুস্থ করতে পারলেন না।”
17 “O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.”
১৭যীশু বললেন, “হে অবিশ্বাসী ও বিপথগামী বংশ, আমি কত দিন তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকব? কত দিন তোমাদের ভার বহন করব?” তোমরা ওকে এখানে আমার কাছে আন।
18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
১৮পরে যীশু ভুতকে ধমক দিলেন, তাতে সেই ভূত তাকে ছেড়ে দিল, আর সেই ছেলেটি সেই মুহূর্তেই সুস্থ হল।
19 Afterward the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
১৯তখন শিষ্যেরা গোপনে যীশুর কাছে এসে বললেন, “কি জন্য আমরা ওর মধ্যে থেকে ভূত ছাড়াতে পারলাম না?”
20 “Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
২০তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “কারণ তোমাদের বিশ্বাস অল্প বলে। কারণ আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, যদি তোমাদের একটি সরষে দানার মতো বিশ্বাস থাকে, তবে তোমরা এই পাহাড়কে বলবে,
২১এখান থেকে ঐখানে যাও, আর সেটা সরে যাবে এবং তোমাদের অসাধ্য কিছুই থাকবে না।”
22 When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.
২২যখন তাঁরা গালীলে একসঙ্গে ছিলেন তখন যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, মনুষ্যপুত্র লোকেদের হাতে সমর্পিত হবেন
23 They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply grieved.
২৩এবং তারা তাঁকে মেরে ফেলবে, আর তৃতীয় দিনের তিনি পুনরায় জীবিত হয়ে উঠবেন। এই কথা শুনে তাঁরা খুবই দুঃখিত হলেন।
24 After they had arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Does your Teacher pay the two drachmas?”
২৪পরে তাঁরা কফরনাহূমে এলে, যারা আধূলো, অর্থাৎ ঈশ্বরের মন্দিরের কর আদায় করত, তারা পিতরের কাছে এসে বলল, “তোমাদের গুরু কি আধূলো (মন্দিরের কর) দেন না?” তিনি বললেন, “হ্যাঁ দেন।”
25 “Yes,” he answered. When Peter entered the house, Jesus preempted him. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?”
২৫পরে তিনি বাড়িতে এলে যীশুই আগে তাঁকে বললেন, “শিমোন, তোমার কি মনে হয়? পৃথিবীর রাজারা কাদের থেকে কর বা রাজস্ব আদায় করে থাকেন? কি নিজের সন্তানদের কাছ থেকে, না অন্য লোকেদের কাছ থেকে?”
26 “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus declared.
২৬পিতর বললেন, “অন্য লোকদের কাছ থেকে।” তখন যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “তবে সন্তানেরা স্বাধীন।”
27 “But so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish you catch. When you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for My tax and yours.”
২৭তবুও আমরা যেন ঐ কর আদায়কারীদের অপমান বোধের কারণ না হই, এই জন্য তুমি সমুদ্রে গিয়ে বঁড়শি ফেল, তাতে প্রথমে যে মাছটি উঠবে, সেটা ধরে তার মুখ খুললে একটি মুদ্রা পাবে, সেটা নিয়ে আমার এবং তোমার জন্য ওদেরকে কর দাও।
