Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them.
೧ಆ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಪೈರಿನ ಹೊಲಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಹಸಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ತಿನ್ನಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”
೨ಆದರೆ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, “ನೋಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಬಾರದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
3 Jesus replied, “Have you not read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
೩ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ದಾವೀದನು ತಾನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೂ ಹಸಿದಾಗ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಓದಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
4 He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for them to eat, but only for the priests.
೪ಅವನು ದೇವಮಂದಿರದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದಾಗಿದ್ದ ನೈವೇದ್ಯದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರು ತಿಂದನಲ್ಲವೇ.
5 Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?
೫ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಜಕರು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವರು ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.
೬ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
7 If only you had known the meaning of ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
೭‘ನಾನು ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನಲ್ಲ, ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನೇ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂಬುದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳೆಂದು ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲಾ.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
೮ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 Moving on from there, Jesus entered their synagogue,
೯ಆತನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಅವರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
10 and a man with a withered hand was there. In order to accuse Jesus, they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”
೧೦ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಬತ್ತಿದವನೊಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದನು. ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು, “ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡುವುದು ನ್ಯಾಯವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
11 He replied, “If one of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?
೧೧ಅದಕ್ಕಾತನು, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಕುರಿ ಇದ್ದು ಅದು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಡಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತದೇ ಇರುವನೇ?
12 How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
೧೨ಕುರಿಗಿಂತ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮೌಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾದದ್ದೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
13 Then Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored to full use, just like the other.
೧೩ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ “ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈ ಚಾಚು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ಚಾಚಿದನು. ಅದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕೈಯಂತಾಯಿತು.
14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.
೧೪ಆದರೆ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಇವನನ್ನು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲೋಣ ಎಂದು ಆತನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಂಚು ಮಾಡತೊಡಗಿದರು.
15 Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them all,
೧೫ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.
16 warning them not to make Him known.
೧೬ಅನೇಕರು ಆತನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು. ಆತನು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
೧೭ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಶಾಯನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳಿಸಿರುವ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರಿತು; ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
18 “Here is My Servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom My soul delights. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will proclaim justice to the nations.
೧೮“ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು. ಈತನು ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟನು, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಪ್ರಿಯನು. ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಇರಿಸುವೆನು. ಈತನು ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವನು.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear His voice in the streets.
೧೯ಈತನು ಜಗಳವಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೂಗಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈತನ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕೇಳಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
20 A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish, till He leads justice to victory.
೨೦ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಜಯ ದೊರೆಯುವವರೆಗೂ ಜಜ್ಜಿದ ದಂಟನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಹಾಕದೆಯೂ ಆರಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ನಂದಿಸದೆಯೂ ಇರುವನು.
21 In His name the nations will put their hope.”
೨೧ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ಈತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದಿರುವರು.”
22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed the man so that he could speak and see.
೨೨ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದ ಕುರುಡನೂ, ಮೂಕನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದರು. ಆತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಲು ಆ ಮೂಕನಿಗೆ ಮಾತು ಹಾಗೂ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಎರಡೂ ಬಂದವು.
23 The crowds were astounded and asked, “Could this be the Son of David?”
೨೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬೆರಗಾಗಿ, “ಈತನು ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಮಾರನೇ ಇರಬಹುದೇನೋ” ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “Only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, does this man drive out demons.”
೨೪ಆದರೆ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಇವನು ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಬೆಲ್ಜೆಬೂಲನ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದರು.
25 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
೨೫ಆತನು ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಯಾವ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾದರೂ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರೆ ವಿಭಜನೆಯಾಗಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುವುದು. ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇದ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ವಿಭಜನೆಯಾದ ಯಾವ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದರೂ ಮನೆಯಾದರೂ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದು.
26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?
೨೬ಅದರಂತೆ ಸೈತಾನನು ಸೈತಾನನನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದರೆ ತನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಅವನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಹೇಗೆ ನಿಂತಿತು?
27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
೨೭ನಾನು ಬೆಲ್ಜೆಬೂಲನಿಂದ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯಾರ ಬಲದಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ? ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವರು.
28 But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
೨೮ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನ ಬಲದಿಂದಲೇ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿತಲ್ಲಾ?
29 Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and steal his possessions, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
೨೯ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮೊದಲು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕದೆ ಆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನ ಮನೆಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಅವನ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಸುಲುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಲುಕೊಂಡಾನು.
30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
೩೦ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರದವನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧಿ. ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸದವನು ಚದುರಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
೩೧ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೂ ದೂಷಣೆಗೂ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನುಡಿಯುವ ದೂಷಣೆಗೆ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಯಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come. (aiōn g165)
೩೨ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದು, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಮುಂಬರುವ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. (aiōn g165)
33 Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
೩೩“ಮರ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಫಲವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆನ್ನಿರಿ. ಮರ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಫಲವು ಕೆಟ್ಟದು ಅನ್ನಿರಿ. ಫಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಮರದ ಗುಣವು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.
34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
೩೪ಸರ್ಪ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೇ ನೀವು ಕೆಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಹೇಗಾದೀತು? ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿರುವುದೇ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವುದು.
35 The good man brings good things out of his good store of treasure, and the evil man brings evil things out of his evil store of treasure.
೩೫ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವೆಂಬ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನೇ ಹೊರಗೆ ತೆಗೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೆಟ್ಟವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವೆಂಬ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತೆಗೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
36 But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
೩೬ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಆಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಾತಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
೩೭ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ಹೊಂದುವಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ಹೊಂದುವಿ” ಅಂದನು.
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
೩೮ಆಗ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೆಲವರು, “ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು” ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ,
39 Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
೩೯“ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಣಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯೋನನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೂ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
೪೦ಅಂದರೆ ಯೋನನು ಹೇಗೆ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೀನಿನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಇದ್ದನೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಮೂರು ದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ಭೂಗರ್ಭದೊಳಗೆ ಇರುವನು.
41 The men of Nineveh will stand at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here.
೪೧ನಿನೆವೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರು ಯೋನನು ಸಾರಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಟ್ಟರು. ಇಗೋ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋನನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವನಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನೆವೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರು ಈ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಇವರನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುವರು.
42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
೪೨ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದೇಶದ ರಾಣಿಯು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದಳು. ಇಗೋ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವನಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದೇಶದ ರಾಣಿಯು ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಇವರನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುವಳು.
43 When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.
೪೩“ದೆವ್ವವು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾ ನೀರಿಲ್ಲದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ On its return, it finds the house vacant, swept clean, and put in order.
೪೪ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕದ ಕಾರಣ ಅದು, ‘ನಾನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಂದ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಆ ಮನೆ ಒಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲದ್ದೂ, ಗುಡಿಸಿ, ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು,
45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and dwell there; and the final plight of that man is worse than the first. So will it be with this wicked generation.”
೪೫ತರುವಾಯ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ತನಗಿಂತ ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳಾದ ಬೇರೆ ಏಳು ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವುದು. ಅವು ಒಳ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವವು. ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಅಂತ್ಯಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಮೊದಲಿಗಿಂತ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗುವುದು. ಇದರಂತೆಯೇ ಈ ದುಷ್ಟ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಆಗುವುದು” ಅಂದನು.
46 While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him.
೪೬ಯೇಸು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
47 Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.”
೪೭ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು, “ಇಗೋ ನಿನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೊರಗೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಅಂದನು.
48 But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?”
೪೮ಅದಕ್ಕಾತನು ಆ ಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿ ಯಾರು? ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ
49 Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers.
೪೯ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕೈ ಚಾಚಿ, “ಇಗೋ ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿ, ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರು.
50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
೫೦ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಚಿತ್ತವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನೇ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೂ ಸಹೋದರಿಯೂ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಅಂದನು.
