Mark 4
1 Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore.
Novamente ele começou a ensinar à beira-mar. Uma grande multidão foi reunida a ele, de modo que ele entrou em um barco no mar e se sentou. Toda a multidão estava em terra, à beira-mar.
2 And He taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said,
Ele lhes ensinou muitas coisas em parábolas, e lhes disse em seu ensinamento,
3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
“Escutem! Eis que o fazendeiro saiu para semear.
4 And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.
Enquanto semeava, alguma semente caiu na estrada, e os pássaros vieram e a devoraram.
5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.
Outras caíram no solo rochoso, onde tinha pouca terra, e imediatamente brotou, porque não tinha profundidade de solo.
6 But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Quando o sol nasceu, ele foi queimado; e porque não tinha raiz, ele murchou.
7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings, and they yielded no crop.
Outros caíram entre os espinhos, e os espinhos cresceram e a sufocaram, e ela não produziu frutos.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprouted, grew up, and produced a crop—one bearing thirtyfold, another sixtyfold, and another a hundredfold.”
Outros caíram no bom terreno e deram frutos, crescendo e aumentando. Alguns produziram trinta vezes, uns sessenta vezes, e outros cem vezes mais”.
9 Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Ele disse: “Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, que ouça”.
10 As soon as Jesus was alone with the Twelve and those around Him, they asked Him about the parable.
Quando ele estava sozinho, aqueles que estavam ao seu redor com os doze lhe perguntaram sobre as parábolas.
11 He replied, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables,
Ele lhes disse: “A vocês é dado o mistério do Reino de Deus, mas àqueles que estão fora, todas as coisas são feitas em parábolas,
12 so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’”
que 'vendo eles podem ver e não perceber, e ouvindo eles podem ouvir e não entender, para que talvez eles se voltem novamente, e seus pecados sejam perdoados'”.
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables?
Ele disse a eles: “Você não entende esta parábola? Como vocês entenderão todas as parábolas?
14 The farmer sows the word.
O fazendeiro semeia a palavra.
15 Some are like the seeds along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
Os que estão na estrada são aqueles onde a palavra é semeada; e quando eles ouviram, imediatamente Satanás vem e tira a palavra que foi semeada neles.
16 Some are like the seeds sown on rocky ground. They hear the word and at once receive it with joy.
Estes, da mesma forma, são aqueles que são semeados nos lugares rochosos, que, quando ouviram a palavra, imediatamente a recebem com alegria.
17 But they themselves have no root, and they remain for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
Eles não têm raiz em si mesmos, mas são de curta duração. Quando a opressão ou perseguição surge por causa da palavra, imediatamente tropeçam.
18 Others are like the seeds sown among the thorns. They hear the word,
Outros são aqueles que são semeados entre os espinhos. Estes são aqueles que ouviram a palavra,
19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
e os cuidados desta época, e o engano das riquezas, e a luxúria de outras coisas que entram em sufocar a palavra, e esta se torna infrutífera. (aiōn g165)
20 Still others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, receive it, and produce a crop—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, or a hundredfold.”
Aqueles que foram semeados no bom terreno são aqueles que ouvem a palavra, a aceitam e dão fruto, umas trinta vezes, umas sessenta vezes, e umas cem vezes”.
21 Jesus also said to them, “Does anyone bring in a lamp to put it under a basket or under a bed? Doesn’t he set it on a stand?
Ele lhes disse: “Uma lâmpada é trazida para ser colocada debaixo de uma cesta ou debaixo de uma cama? Não é colocada em um suporte?
22 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be brought to light.
Pois não há nada escondido, a não ser que deveria ser dado a conhecer, nem nada foi tornado secreto, a não ser que deveria vir à tona.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Se algum homem tem ouvidos para ouvir, que o ouça”.
24 He went on to say, “Pay attention to what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and even more will be added to you.
Ele disse a eles: “Prestem atenção ao que ouvem”. Com qualquer medida que vocês medirem, ela será medida para vocês; e mais será dada a vocês que ouvirem.
25 For whoever has will be given more. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
Pois quem tiver, a ele será dado mais; e quem não tiver, até mesmo o que tiver, lhe será tirado”.
26 Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground.
Ele disse: “O Reino de Deus é como se um homem devesse lançar sementes na terra,
27 Night and day he sleeps and wakes, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he knows not how.
e deveria dormir e levantar-se noite e dia, e a semente deveria brotar e crescer, embora ele não saiba como.
28 All by itself the earth produces a crop—first the stalk, then the head, then grain that ripens within.
Pois a terra dá frutos por si só: primeiro a lâmina, depois a espiga, depois o grão cheio na espiga.
29 And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Mas quando o fruto está maduro, imediatamente ele coloca a foice, porque a colheita chegou”.
30 Then He asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God? With what parable shall we present it?
Ele disse: “Como vamos comparar o Reino de Deus? Ou com que parábola vamos ilustrá-lo?
31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds sown upon the earth.
É como um grão de mostarda, que, quando é semeado na terra, embora seja menor que todas as sementes que estão sobre a terra,
32 But after it is planted, it grows to be the largest of all garden plants and puts forth great branches, so that the birds of the air nest in its shade.”
ainda quando é semeado, cresce e se torna maior que todas as ervas, e coloca grandes ramos, para que as aves do céu possam se alojar sob sua sombra”.
33 With many such parables Jesus spoke the word to them, to the extent that they could understand.
Com muitas dessas parábolas ele disse a palavra a eles, pois eles puderam ouvi-la.
34 He did not tell them anything without using a parable. But privately He explained everything to His own disciples.
Sem uma parábola ele não falou com eles; mas em particular aos seus próprios discípulos, ele explicou tudo.
35 When that evening came, He said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side.”
Naquele dia, quando chegou a noite, ele lhes disse: “Vamos para o outro lado”.
36 After they had dismissed the crowd, they took Jesus with them, since He was already in the boat. And there were other boats with Him.
Deixando a multidão, eles o levaram com eles, mesmo quando ele estava, no barco. Outros pequenos barcos também estavam com ele.
37 Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped.
Uma grande tempestade de vento surgiu, e as ondas bateram no barco, tanto que o barco já estava cheio.
38 But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?”
Ele mesmo estava na popa, dormindo na almofada; e o acordaram e lhe perguntaram: “Professor, você não se importa que estejamos morrendo?
39 Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
Ele acordou e repreendeu o vento, e disse para o mar: “Paz! Fique quieto”! O vento cessou e houve uma grande calma.
40 “Why are you so afraid?” He asked. “Do you still have no faith?”
Ele disse a eles: “Por que vocês têm tanto medo? Como é que vocês não têm fé?”
41 Overwhelmed with fear, they asked one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Eles tinham muito medo e disseram um para o outro: “Quem é este, que até o vento e o mar lhe obedecem?
