< Mark 4 >
1 Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore.
Yesuus ammas qarqara galaanichaatti barsiisuu jalqabe. Tuunni naannoo isaatti walitti qabame akka malee guddaa ture; utuu namoonni hundi qarqara galaanichaa irra afaan bishaanii jiranuu, inni bidiruu yaabbatee galaanicha irra achi hiiqee taaʼe.
2 And He taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said,
Fakkeenyaanis waan baayʼee isaan barsiise; barsiisa isaa keessattis akkana jedhe:
3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
“Mee dhagaʼaa! Kunoo, namichi sanyii facaasu tokko sanyii facaafachuu baʼe.
4 And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.
Utuu inni facaasaa jiruus sanyiin tokko tokko karaa irra buʼe; simbirroonnis dhufanii nyaatanii fixan.
5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.
Kaan immoo lafa kattaa, iddoo biyyoo baayʼee hin qabne irra buʼe. Sanyiin sunis sababii biyyoon sun gad fageenya hin qabaatiniif dafee biqile.
6 But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Yommuu aduun baatetti garuu biqiltuun sun ni coollage; waan hidda hin qabaatiniifis ni goge.
7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings, and they yielded no crop.
Sanyiin biraas qoraattii keessa buʼe; qoraattiin sunis guddatee biqiltuu sana hudhe; biqiltuun sunis ija hin naqanne.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprouted, grew up, and produced a crop—one bearing thirtyfold, another sixtyfold, and another a hundredfold.”
Ammas sanyiin kaan biyyoo gaarii irra buʼe. Ni biqile; ni guddate; ijas ni naqate. Inni tokko soddoma, kaan jaatama, kaan immoo dhibba naqate.”
9 Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Yesuusis, “Namni gurra dhagaʼu qabu kam iyyuu haa dhagaʼu” jedhe.
10 As soon as Jesus was alone with the Twelve and those around Him, they asked Him about the parable.
Yeroo inni kophaa turettis warri Kudha Lamaanii fi namoonni naannoo isaa turan biraa waaʼee fakkeenya sanaa isa gaafatan.
11 He replied, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables,
Innis akkana jedheen; “Icciitiin mootummaa Waaqaa isiniif kennameera. Warra ala jiranitti garuu wanni hundinuu fakkeenyaan himama;
12 so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’”
kunis, “‘Isaan akka hin deebinee fi akka dhiifama hin arganneef, arguu inuma argu, garuu hin qalbeeffatan; dhagaʼuus inuma dhagaʼu, garuu hin hubatan.’”
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables?
Yesuusis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Isin fakkeenya kana hin hubattanii? Yoos isin akkamitti fakkeenya hunda hubattu ree?
14 The farmer sows the word.
Namichi sanyii facaasu sun dubbicha facaasa.
15 Some are like the seeds along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
Namoonni tokko tokko sanyii karaa irraa, lafa dubbichi itti facaafame sana fakkaatu. Akkuma isaan dubbicha dhagaʼaniin Seexanni dhufee dubbicha isaan keessatti facaafame sana fudhata.
16 Some are like the seeds sown on rocky ground. They hear the word and at once receive it with joy.
Warri kaan akkuma sanyii lafa kattaa irratti facaafamee ti; isaan yommuu dubbicha dhagaʼanitti yommusuma gammachuun fudhatu.
17 But they themselves have no root, and they remain for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
Garuu isaan waan hidda hin qabneef yeroo gabaabaa qofa turu. Yeroo rakkinni yookaan ariʼatamni sababii dubbichaatiif dhufutti isaan dafanii gufatu.
18 Others are like the seeds sown among the thorns. They hear the word,
Ammas warri kaan sanyii qoraattii keessatti facaafame fakkaatu; isaanis warra dubbicha dhagaʼanii dha;
19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn )
garuu yaaddoon addunyaa kanaa, gowwoomsaan qabeenyaatii fi hawwiin waan garaa garaa isaan seenee dubbicha hudhee ija naqachuu dhowwa. (aiōn )
20 Still others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, receive it, and produce a crop—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, or a hundredfold.”
Warri kaanis sanyii biyyoo gaarii irratti facaafame fakkaatu; isaanis dubbicha ni dhagaʼu; ni fudhatu; ijas ni naqatu; inni tokko soddoma, kaan jaatama, kaan immoo dhibba naqata.”
21 Jesus also said to them, “Does anyone bring in a lamp to put it under a basket or under a bed? Doesn’t he set it on a stand?
Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Isin ibsaa gombisaa jala yookaan siree jala kaaʼuuf fidduu? Qooda kanaa baattuu isaa irra keessu mitii?
22 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be brought to light.
Wanni dhokfame kam iyyuu mulʼifamuuf jiraatii; wanni haguugame kam iyyuus ifatti baafamuuf jiraatii.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Namni kam iyyuu yoo gurra dhagaʼu qabaate haa dhagaʼu.”
24 He went on to say, “Pay attention to what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and even more will be added to you.
Innis itti fufee akkana jedheen; “Waan dhageessan qalbeeffadhaa. Safartuu ittiin safartaniinis, hammas caalaa iyyuu isiniif safarama.
25 For whoever has will be given more. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
Kan qabu kamiif iyyuu itti dabalamee ni kennama; kan hin qabne garuu wanni inni qabu iyyuu irraa fudhatama.”
26 Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground.
Ammas akkana jedhe; “Mootummaan Waaqaa nama lafa isaa irratti sanyii facaasu tokko fakkaata.
27 Night and day he sleeps and wakes, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he knows not how.
Akkamitti akka taʼe namichi beekuu baatu illee, inni rafus yookaan dammaqus, sanyiin sun halkanii guyyaa ni biqila; ni guddatas.
28 All by itself the earth produces a crop—first the stalk, then the head, then grain that ripens within.
Lafti ofuma isheetiin midhaan baafti; jalqabatti biqila, itti aansee hudhaa midhaanii, ergasii immoo midhaan guutuu baafti.
29 And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Namichis akkuma midhaanichi bilchaateen haamuu jalqaba; yeroon haamaa gaʼeeraatii.”
30 Then He asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God? With what parable shall we present it?
Ammas inni akkana jedhe; “Mootummaan Waaqaa maal fakkaata jechuu dandeenya? Yookaan fakkeenya maaliitiin isa ibsina?
31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds sown upon the earth.
Inni sanyii sanaaficaa kan sanyiiwwan lafa irra jiran hunda irra xinnaa taʼe fakkaata.
32 But after it is planted, it grows to be the largest of all garden plants and puts forth great branches, so that the birds of the air nest in its shade.”
Erga facaafamee booddee garuu guddatee biqiltuu hunda caala; dameewwan gurguddaa simbirroonnis gaaddisa isaa jala jiraachuu dandaʼanis qabaata.”
33 With many such parables Jesus spoke the word to them, to the extent that they could understand.
Yesuusis fakkeenyawwan akkanaa baayʼeedhaan hamma isaan dhagaʼuu dandaʼan dubbicha isaanitti dubbate.
34 He did not tell them anything without using a parable. But privately He explained everything to His own disciples.
Innis fakkeenyaan malee waan tokko illee isaanitti hin dubbanne. Yeroo kophaa turanitti garuu waan hunda barattoota isaatiif ni ibse.
35 When that evening came, He said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side.”
Inni gaafas, yeroo galgalaaʼetti, “Kottaa gama ceenaa” isaaniin jedhe.
36 After they had dismissed the crowd, they took Jesus with them, since He was already in the boat. And there were other boats with Him.
Isaanis tuuta namootaa sana achitti dhiisanii Yesuusin akkuma inni bidiruu keessa jirutti fuudhanii deeman. Bidiruuwwan biraas isa wajjin turan.
37 Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped.
Bubbeen hamaan tokko ni kaʼe; dambaliinis bidiruu sana dhaʼee bidiruun sun bishaaniin guutamuu gaʼe.
38 But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?”
Yesuusis bidiruu sana keessa karaa duubaa boraatii tokko irra rafaa ture. Barattoonnis isa dammaqsanii, “Yaa barsiisaa, dhumuun keenya homaa si hin dhibuu?” jedhaniin.
39 Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
Innis kaʼee bubbee sana ifate; dambalii sanaanis, “Calʼisi! Gab jedhis!” jedhe. Bubbeen sunis ni calʼise; tasgabbiin guddaanis ni taʼe.
40 “Why are you so afraid?” He asked. “Do you still have no faith?”
Innis barattoota isaatiin, “Isin maaliif akkana sodaattu? Isin amma iyyuu amantii hin qabdanii?” jedhe.
41 Overwhelmed with fear, they asked one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Isaanis akka malee sodaatanii, “Namichi bubbee fi dambaliin iyyuu ajajamaniif kun eenyu?” jedhanii wal gaafatan.
