1 Once again Jesus entered the synagogue, and a man with a withered hand was there.
anantaraM yIzuH puna rbhajanagRhaM praviSTastasmin sthAnE zuSkahasta EkO mAnava AsIt|
2 In order to accuse Jesus, they were watching to see if He would heal on the Sabbath.
sa vizrAmavArE tamarOgiNaM kariSyati navEtyatra bahavastam apavadituM chidramapEkSitavantaH|
3 Then Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, “Stand up among us.”
tadA sa taM zuSkahastaM manuSyaM jagAda madhyasthAnE tvamuttiSTha|
4 And He asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” But they were silent.
tataH paraM sa tAn papraccha vizrAmavArE hitamahitaM tathA hi prANarakSA vA prANanAza ESAM madhyE kiM karaNIyaM? kintu tE niHzabdAstasthuH|
5 Jesus looked around at them with anger and sorrow at their hardness of heart. Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored.
tadA sa tESAmantaHkaraNAnAM kAThinyAddhEtO rduHkhitaH krOdhAt cartudazO dRSTavAn taM mAnuSaM gaditavAn taM hastaM vistAraya, tatastEna hastE vistRtE taddhastO'nyahastavad arOgO jAtaH|
6 At this, the Pharisees went out and began plotting with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
atha phirUzinaH prasthAya taM nAzayituM hErOdIyaiH saha mantrayitumArEbhirE|
7 So Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large crowd from Galilee, Judea,
ataEva yIzustatsthAnaM parityajya ziSyaiH saha punaH sAgarasamIpaM gataH;
8 Jerusalem, Idumea, the region beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to Him when they heard what great things He was doing.
tatO gAlIlyihUdA-yirUzAlam-idOm-yardannadIpArasthAnEbhyO lOkasamUhastasya pazcAd gataH; tadanyaH sOrasIdanOH samIpavAsilOkasamUhazca tasya mahAkarmmaNAM vArttaM zrutvA tasya sannidhimAgataH|
9 Jesus asked His disciples to have a boat ready for Him so that the crowd would not crush Him.
tadA lOkasamUhazcEt tasyOpari patati ityAzagkya sa nAvamEkAM nikaTE sthApayituM ziSyAnAdiSTavAn|
10 For He had healed so many that all who had diseases were pressing forward to touch Him.
yatO'nEkamanuSyANAmArOgyakaraNAd vyAdhigrastAH sarvvE taM spraSTuM parasparaM balEna yatnavantaH|
11 And when the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!”
aparanjca apavitrabhUtAstaM dRSTvA taccaraNayOH patitvA prOcaiH prOcuH, tvamIzvarasya putraH|
12 But He warned them sternly not to make Him known.
kintu sa tAn dRPham AjnjApya svaM paricAyituM niSiddhavAn|
13 Then Jesus went up on the mountain and called for those He wanted, and they came to Him.
anantaraM sa parvvatamAruhya yaM yaM praticchA taM tamAhUtavAn tatastE tatsamIpamAgatAH|
14 He appointed twelve of them, whom He designated as apostles, to accompany Him, to be sent out to preach,
tadA sa dvAdazajanAn svEna saha sthAtuM susaMvAdapracArAya prEritA bhavituM
15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
sarvvaprakAravyAdhInAM zamanakaraNAya prabhAvaM prAptuM bhUtAn tyAjayitunjca niyuktavAn|
16 These are the twelve He appointed: Simon (whom He named Peter),
tESAM nAmAnImAni, zimOn sivadiputrO
17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (whom He named Boanerges, meaning “Sons of Thunder”),
yAkUb tasya bhrAtA yOhan ca AndriyaH philipO barthalamayaH,
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot,
mathI thOmA ca AlphIyaputrO yAkUb thaddIyaH kinAnIyaH zimOn yastaM parahastESvarpayiSyati sa ISkariyOtIyayihUdAzca|
19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
sa zimOnE pitara ityupanAma dadau yAkUbyOhanbhyAM ca binErigiz arthatO mEghanAdaputrAvityupanAma dadau|
20 Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered, so that He and His disciples could not even eat.
anantaraM tE nivEzanaM gatAH, kintu tatrApi punarmahAn janasamAgamO 'bhavat tasmAttE bhOktumapyavakAzaM na prAptAH|
21 When His family heard about this, they went out to take custody of Him, saying, “He is out of His mind.”
tatastasya suhRllOkA imAM vArttAM prApya sa hatajnjAnObhUd iti kathAM kathayitvA taM dhRtvAnEtuM gatAH|
22 And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons He drives out demons.”
aparanjca yirUzAlama AgatA yE yE'dhyApakAstE jagadurayaM puruSO bhUtapatyAbiSTastEna bhUtapatinA bhUtAn tyAjayati|
23 So Jesus called them together and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
tatastAnAhUya yIzu rdRSTAntaiH kathAM kathitavAn zaitAn kathaM zaitAnaM tyAjayituM zaknOti?
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand.
kinjcana rAjyaM yadi svavirOdhEna pRthag bhavati tarhi tad rAjyaM sthiraM sthAtuM na zaknOti|
25 If a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand.
tathA kasyApi parivArO yadi parasparaM virOdhI bhavati tarhi sOpi parivAraH sthiraM sthAtuM na zaknOti|
26 And if Satan is divided and rises against himself, he cannot stand; his end has come.
tadvat zaitAn yadi svavipakSatayA uttiSThan bhinnO bhavati tarhi sOpi sthiraM sthAtuM na zaknOti kintUcchinnO bhavati|
27 Indeed, no one can enter a strong man’s house to steal his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.
aparanjca prabalaM janaM prathamaM na baddhA kOpi tasya gRhaM pravizya dravyANi luNThayituM na zaknOti, taM badvvaiva tasya gRhasya dravyANi luNThayituM zaknOti|
28 Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter.
atOhEtO ryuSmabhyamahaM satyaM kathayAmi manuSyANAM santAnA yAni yAni pApAnIzvaranindAnjca kurvvanti tESAM tatsarvvESAmaparAdhAnAM kSamA bhavituM zaknOti,
29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
kintu yaH kazcit pavitramAtmAnaM nindati tasyAparAdhasya kSamA kadApi na bhaviSyati sOnantadaNPasyArhO bhaviSyati| (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
30 Jesus made this statement because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”
tasyApavitrabhUtO'sti tESAmEtatkathAhEtOH sa itthaM kathitavAn|
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent someone in to summon Him,
atha tasya mAtA bhrAtRgaNazcAgatya bahistiSThanatO lOkAn prESya tamAhUtavantaH|
32 and a crowd was sitting around Him. “Look,” He was told, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking for You.”
tatastatsannidhau samupaviSTA lOkAstaM babhASirE pazya bahistava mAtA bhrAtarazca tvAm anvicchanti|
33 But Jesus replied, “Who are My mother and My brothers?”
tadA sa tAn pratyuvAca mama mAtA kA bhrAtarO vA kE? tataH paraM sa svamIpOpaviSTAn ziSyAn prati avalOkanaM kRtvA kathayAmAsa
34 Looking at those seated in a circle around Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
pazyataitE mama mAtA bhrAtarazca|
35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother.”
yaH kazcid IzvarasyESTAM kriyAM karOti sa Eva mama bhrAtA bhaginI mAtA ca|
