Malachi 3
1 “Behold, I will send My messenger, who will prepare the way before Me. Then the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple—the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight—see, He is coming,” says the LORD of Hosts.
Eis que eu enviarei o meu mensageiro, que preparará o caminho adiante de mim; e de repente virá a seu templo o Senhor a quem vós buscais, o mensageiro do pacto a quem vós desejais. Eis que ele vem, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
2 But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire, like a launderer’s soap.
Mas quem poderá suportar o dia de sua vinda? Quem conseguirá ficar de pé quando ele aparecer? Porque ele será como fogo do ourives, e como o sabão de lavandeiros.
3 And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.
E ele se sentará como refinador e purificador da prata; pois ele limpará os filhos de Levi, e os refinará como o ouro e como a prata; então trarão ao SENHOR oferta com justiça.
4 Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in days of old and years gone by.
E a oferta de Judá e de Jerusalém será suave ao SENHOR, como nos dias antigos, e como nos anos passados.
5 “Then I will draw near to you for judgment. And I will be a swift witness against sorcerers and adulterers and perjurers, against oppressors of the widowed and fatherless, and against those who defraud laborers of their wages and deny justice to the foreigner but do not fear Me,” says the LORD of Hosts.
E eu me achegarei a vós para o julgamento; e prontamente serei testemunha contra os feiticeiros e adúlteros, e contra os que juram falsamente, e os que oprimem o empregado em seu salário, a viúva, e o órfão, e pervertem [o direito] do estrangeiro, e não me temem, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
6 “Because I, the LORD, do not change, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.
Porque eu o SENHOR, não me mudo; por isso que vós, filhos de Jacó, não sois consumidos.
7 Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Hosts. “But you ask, ‘How can we return?’
Desde os dias de vossos pais vos desviastes de minhas leis, e não as guardastes. Voltai-vos a mim, e eu me voltarei a vós, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos. Mas vós dizeis: Em que temos de voltar?
8 Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you ask, ‘How do we rob You?’ In tithes and offerings.
Pode o ser humano roubar a Deus? Vós, pois, me roubais. Mas vós dizeis: Em que te roubamos? Nos dízimos e nas ofertas.
9 You are cursed with a curse, yet you—the whole nation—are still robbing Me.
Com maldição sois amaldiçoados porque vós me roubais, toda a nação.
10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out for you blessing without measure.
Trazei todos os dízimos à casa do tesouro, para que haja alimento em minha casa; e provai-me nisto, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, se não vos abrir as janelas dos céu, e derramar sobre vós bênção transbordante.
11 I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your land, and the vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit,” says the LORD of Hosts.
E por causa de vós repreenderei ao devorador, para não corrompa vosso fruto da terra; e vossa vide no campo não será estéril, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight,” says the LORD of Hosts.
E todas as nações vos chamarão bem-aventurados; porque vós sereis terra agradável, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
13 “Your words against Me have been harsh,” says the LORD. “Yet you ask, ‘What have we spoken against You?’
Vossas palavras têm sido duras contra mim, diz o SENHOR. Mas vós dizeis: O que temos falado contra ti?
14 You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What have we gained by keeping His requirements and walking mournfully before the LORD of Hosts?
Vós dizeis: É inútil servir a Deus; pois que proveito [temos tido] em guardarmos seus mandamentos e andarmos lamentando diante do SENHOR dos exércitos?
15 So now we call the arrogant blessed. Not only do evildoers prosper, they even test God and escape.’”
Chamemos de sortudos os soberbos, pois os que praticam perversidade prosperam; mesmo tentando a Deus, eles escapam.
16 At that time those who feared the LORD spoke with one another, and the LORD listened and heard them. So a scroll of remembrance was written before Him regarding those who feared the LORD and honored His name.
Então aqueles que temeram ao SENHOR falaram cada um a seu próximo, e o SENHOR prestou atenção e ouviu; e foi escrito um livro de memória diante dele para os que temem ao SENHOR, e para os que se honraram o seu nome.
17 “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the day when I prepare My treasured possession. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.
E eles serão minha propriedade especial no dia que eu preparo, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos; e os pouparei como o homem que poupa a seu filho que lhe serve.
18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
Então voltareis a ver a diferença entre o justo e o perverso, entre o que serve a Deus e o que não lhe serve.
