Luke 1
1 Many have undertaken to compose an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,
ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଚାକ୍ଷୁଷ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ଓ ବାକ୍ୟର ପରିଚାରକ, ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା ଅନୁସାରେ,
2 just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଘଟିଥିବା ଘଟଣାବଳୀର ବିବରଣ ଅନେକେ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳିତ ରୂପେ ଲିପିବଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଆଗ୍ରହ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
3 Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
ଅତଏବ, ହେ ମାନ୍ୟବର ଥୀୟଫିଲ, ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ରୂପେ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରି ସେଥିର ଧାରାବାହିକ ବିବରଣ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଲେଖିବାକୁ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଉଚିତ୍ ମନେ କଲି,
4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
ଯେପରି ଆପଣ ଯେ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା ପାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେସବୁର ନିଶ୍ଚୟତା ଜାଣି ପାରନ୍ତି।
5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah, and whose wife Elizabeth was a daughter of Aaron.
ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶର ରାଜା ହେରୋଦଙ୍କ ସମୟରେ ଅବିୟଙ୍କ ଦଳର ଜିଖରୀୟ ନାମରେ ଜଣେ ଯାଜକ ଥିଲେ; ତାହାଙ୍କ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ହାରୋଣ ବଂଶର କନ୍ୟା, ତାହାଙ୍କର ନାମ ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ।
6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and decrees of the Lord.
ସେମାନେ ଉଭୟେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଓ ନିୟମ ଅନୁସାରେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷ ରୂପେ ଆଚରଣ କରି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ଥିଲେ।
7 But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well along in years.
କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନ ନ ଥିଲା, କାରଣ ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ବନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଉଭୟଙ୍କ ବୟସ ଅଧିକ ହୋଇଯାଇଥିଲା।
8 One day while Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
ସେ ଆପଣା ଦଳର ପାଳି ଅନୁସାରେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଯାଜକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ,
9 he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
ଯାଜକୀୟ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟର ରୀତି ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଗୁଲିବାଣ୍ଟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଧୂପ ଦେବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିଲା,
10 And at the hour of the incense offering, the whole congregation was praying outside.
ଆଉ ଧୂପ ଦେବା ସମୟରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଜନତା ବାହାରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଥିଲେ।
11 Just then an angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ଦୂତ ଧୂପବେଦିର ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦର୍ଶନ ଦେଲେ।
12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear.
ଜିଖରୀୟ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ବିଚଳିତ ଓ ଭୟଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେଲେ।
13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
କିନ୍ତୁ ଦୂତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଜିଖରୀୟ, ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିବେଦନ ଶୁଣାଯାଇଅଛି, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କରିବେ, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ନାମ ଯୋହନ ଦେବ।
14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,
ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଆନନ୍ଦ ଓ ଉଲ୍ଲାସର କାରଣ ହେବ, ପୁଣି, ଅନେକେ ତାହାର ଜନ୍ମରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିବେ।
15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.
ଯେଣୁ ସେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ମହାନ ହେବ; ସେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ କି ମଦ୍ୟ କେବେ ହେଁ ପାନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ମାତାର ଉଦରରୁ ହିଁ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେବ,
16 Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.
ଆଉ ସେ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଅନେକଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଭୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଫେରାଇବ।
17 And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
ପିତାମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ଅବାଧ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧାର୍ମିକମାନଙ୍କ ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଆଚରଣ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଫେରାଇବାକୁ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ସୁସଜ୍ଜିତ ଗୋଟିଏ ପ୍ରଜାମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବାକୁ ସେ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା ଓ ଶକ୍ତିରେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ଗମନ କରିବ।
18 “How can I be sure of this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”
ଏଥିରେ ଜିଖରୀୟ ଦୂତଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ କେଉଁ ଚିହ୍ନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏହା ଜାଣିବି? କାରଣ ମୁଁ ତ ବୃଦ୍ଧ, ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ବୟସ ଅଧିକ ହେଲାଣି।
19 “I am Gabriel,” replied the angel. “I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
ଦୂତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ମୁଁ ଗାବ୍ରିଏଲ, ମୁଁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଉପସ୍ଥିତିରେ ଠିଆ ହୁଏ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିବାକୁ ଓ ଏହି ସୁସମାଚାର ଜଣାଇବାକୁ ମୁଁ ପଠାଯାଇଅଛି।
20 And now you will be silent and unable to speak until the day this comes to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time.”
ଦେଖ, ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ନ ଘଟିବା ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନୀରବ ରହି କଥା କହି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ମୋହର ଯେଉଁ ସବୁ ବାକ୍ୟ ଯଥା ସମୟରେ ସଫଳ ହେବ, ସେହିସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲ ନାହିଁ।
21 Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he took so long in the temple.
ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଜିଖରୀୟଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ତାଙ୍କର ବିଳମ୍ବ ଘଟିବାରେ ସେମାନେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେଉଥିଲେ।
22 When he came out and was unable to speak to them, they realized he had seen a vision in the temple. He kept making signs to them but remained speechless.
କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ବାହାରି ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କଥା କହି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ; ଏଥିରେ ସେ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ଦର୍ଶନ ପାଇଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ସେମାନେ ବୁଝିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଙ୍କେତ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ ଓ ମୂକ ହୋଇ ରହିଲେ।
23 And when the days of his service were complete, he returned home.
ପରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସେବାପାଳିର ଦିନସବୁ ଶେଷ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ଗଲେ।
24 After these days, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. She declared,
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ପାଞ୍ଚ ମାସ ଗୋପନରେ ରହି କହିଲେ,
25 “The Lord has done this for me. In these days He has shown me favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”
ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମୋହର ଅପମାନ ଦୂର କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରଭୁ କୃପାଦୃଷ୍ଟି କରି ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଏପରି କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,
ଏଲୀଶାବେଥଙ୍କ ଗର୍ଭର ଛଅ ମାସରେ ଗାବ୍ରିଏଲ ଦୂତ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଗାଲିଲୀର ନାଜରିତ ନାମକ ନଗରକୁ ଜଣେ କନ୍ୟା ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଗଲେ;
27 to a virgin pledged in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.
ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ବଂଶର ଯୋଷେଫ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ବିବାହ ନିର୍ବନ୍ଧ ହୋଇଥିଲା; ସେହି କନ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ନାମ ମରୀୟମ।
28 The angel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
ସେ ଗୃହରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ଆଗୋ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହପାତ୍ରୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ, ପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସହବର୍ତ୍ତୀ।
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟରେ ଅତିଶୟ ବିଚଳିତ ହୋଇ ଏହା କି ପ୍ରକାର ବାକ୍ୟ ବୋଲି ମନରେ ବିଚାର କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
30 So the angel told her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
ସେଥିରେ ଦୂତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆଗୋ ମରୀୟମ, ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଇଅଛ।
31 Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.
ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଗର୍ଭଧାରଣ କରି ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କରିବ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଯୀଶୁ ଦେବ।
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
ସେ ମହାନ ହେବେ ଓ ମହାନ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ବୋଲି ଖ୍ୟାତ ହେବେ; ପ୍ରଭୁ ଈଶ୍ବର ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସିଂହାସନ ଦାନ କରିବେ,
ସେ ଯାକୁବ ବଂଶ ଉପରେ ଯୁଗେ ଯୁଗେ ଶାସନ କରିବେ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟର ଶେଷ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। (aiōn g165)
34 “How can this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
କିନ୍ତୁ ମରୀୟମ ଦୂତଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଏହା କିପରି ହେବ? ମୁଁ ତ ପୁରୁଷକୁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
35 The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.
ଦୂତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମା ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ଅବତରଣ କରିବେ ଓ ମହାନ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆବୋରିବ, ଏଣୁ ଯେ ଜାତ ହେବେ, ସେ ପବିତ୍ର ଓ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ବୋଲି ଖ୍ୟାତ ହେବେ।
36 Look, even Elizabeth your relative has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.
ପୁଣି, ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଆତ୍ମୀୟା ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ମଧ୍ୟ ବୃଦ୍ଧା ବୟସରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ଗର୍ଭରେ ଧାରଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି। ଯେ ବନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ବୋଲି ଖ୍ୟାତ, ତାଙ୍କର ଏବେ ଛଅ ମାସ ହେଲାଣି;
37 For no word from God will ever fail.”
କାରଣ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ନିର୍ଗତ କୌଣସି ବାକ୍ୟ ଶକ୍ତିହୀନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.
ଏଥିରେ ମରୀୟମ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦାସୀ; ଆପଣଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟୁ। ତାହା ପରେ ଦୂତ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ।
39 In those days Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judah,
ଏହି ସମୟରେ ମରୀୟମ ଉଠି ପାର୍ବତୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଯିହୂଦା ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଗୋଟିଏ ନଗରକୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଗଲେ,
40 where she entered the home of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
ପୁଣି, ଜିଖରୀୟଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଏଲୀଶାବେଥଙ୍କୁ ନମସ୍କାର କଲେ।
41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
ଆଉ, ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ମରୀୟମଙ୍କ ନମସ୍କାର ଶୁଣିବାମାତ୍ରେ ଶିଶୁଟି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଗର୍ଭରେ ନାଚି ଉଠିଲା, ପୁଣି, ଏଲୀଶାବେଥ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇ
42 In a loud voice she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
ଅତି ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କହିଲେ, ନାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧନ୍ୟ, ପୁଣି, ଧନ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଗର୍ଭର ଫଳ।
43 And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
ଆଉ, ମୋ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମାତା ଯେ ମୋʼ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବେ, ମୋହର ଏହି ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ହେଲା?
44 For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
କାରଣ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ଭାଷଣର ସ୍ୱର ମୋʼ କାନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ଶିଶୁଟି ମୋʼ ଗର୍ଭରେ ଉଲ୍ଲାସରେ ନାଚି ଉଠିଲା।
45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.”
ଯେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ, ସେ ଧନ୍ୟ, କାରଣ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଯାହା କୁହାଯାଇଅଛି, ସେହିସବୁ ସଫଳ ହେବ।
46 Then Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,
ଏଥିରେ ମରୀୟମ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରୁଅଛି,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ଆତ୍ମା ମୋʼ ତ୍ରାଣକର୍ତ୍ତା ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆନନ୍ଦିତ ହୋଇଅଛି;
48 For He has looked with favor on the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed.
କାରଣ ସେ ଆପଣା ଦାସୀର ଦୀନାବସ୍ଥା ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି। ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନଠାରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ପିଢ଼ି ମୋତେ ଧନ୍ୟ ବୋଲି କହିବେ,
49 For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name.
କାରଣ ଯେ ଶକ୍ତିମାନ, ସେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ମହତ କର୍ମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ତାହାଙ୍କର ନାମ ପବିତ୍ର,
50 His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.
ଆଉ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଭୟକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦୟା ପୁରୁଷାନୁକ୍ରମେ ଥାଏ।
51 He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
ସେ ଆପଣା ବାହୁରେ ପରାକ୍ରମ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଅହଙ୍କାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟର କଳ୍ପନାରେ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି;
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble.
ସେ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସିଂହାସନରୁ ବାହାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଦୀନହୀନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଠାଇଅଛନ୍ତି,
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, but has sent the rich away empty.
ସେ କ୍ଷୁଧିତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଉତ୍ତମ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟରେ ତୃପ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଧନୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୂନ୍ୟ ହସ୍ତରେ ବିଦାୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
54 He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful,
ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଉକ୍ତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ, ସେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି,
ଯୁଗେ ଯୁଗେ ଦୟା ସ୍ମରଣ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଉପକାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।” (aiōn g165)
56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.
ଆଉ ମରୀୟମ ପ୍ରାୟ ତିନି ମାସ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ରହି ଆପଣା ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ।
57 When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son.
ପରେ ଏଲୀଶାବେଥଙ୍କ ପ୍ରସବ କାଳ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କଲେ,
58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced with her.
ଆଉ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମହା ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଶୁଣି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ଓ ସମ୍ପର୍କୀୟମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
59 On the eighth day, when they came to circumcise the child, they were going to name him after his father Zechariah.
ଆଠ ଦିନରେ ସେମାନେ ଶିଶୁକୁ ସୁନ୍ନତ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଲେ ଓ ତାହାର ପିତାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଅନୁସାରେ ତାହାର ନାମ ଜିଖରୀୟ ଦେବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କଲେ।
60 But his mother replied, “No! He shall be called John.”
କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାର ମାତା ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ନାହିଁ, ତାହାର ନାମ ଯୋହନ ହେବ।
61 They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who bears this name.”
ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସମ୍ପର୍କୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତ କାହାର ଏହି ନାମ ନାହିଁ।
62 So they made signs to his father to find out what he wanted to name the child.
ଏଥିରେ ତାହାକୁ କେଉଁ ନାମ ଦିଆଯିବ ବୋଲି ତାହାର ପିତା ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ସଙ୍କେତ କରି ପଚାରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
63 Zechariah asked for a tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed.
ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଖଣ୍ଡେ ଲିଖନ ପଟା ମାଗି ଏହା ଲେଖିଲେ, ତାହାର ନାମ ଯୋହନ। ଏଥିରେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଚକିତ ହେଲେ।
64 Immediately Zechariah’s mouth was opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak, praising God.
ଆଉ ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ତାହାଙ୍କ ମୁଖ ଓ ଜିହ୍ୱା ଫିଟିଗଲା ଏବଂ ସେ କଥା କହି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
65 All their neighbors were filled with awe, and people throughout the hill country of Judea were talking about these events.
ଏଥିରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ସମସ୍ତେ ଭୟଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶର ପାର୍ବତୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ସବୁଆଡ଼େ ଲୋକେ କୁହାକହି ହେଲେ,
66 And all who heard this wondered in their hearts and asked, “What then will this child become?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.
ପୁଣି, ଶୁଣିବା ଲୋକ ସମସ୍ତେ ସେହିସବୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟରେ ରଖି କହିଲେ, ଏ ଶିଶୁଟି ତେବେ କଅଣ ହେବ? କାରଣ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ତାହାର ସହବର୍ତ୍ତୀ।
67 Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
ଆଉ, ତାହାର ପିତା ଜିଖରୀୟ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇ ଏହି ଭାବବାଣୀ କହିଲେ,
68 “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has visited and redeemed His people.
“ଧନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଈଶ୍ବର, କାରଣ ସେ କୃପାଦୃଷ୍ଟି କରି, ଆପଣା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁକ୍ତି ସାଧନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି;
69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,
ସେ ଆପଣା ଦାସ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ବଂଶରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପରିତ୍ରାଣର ଶୃଙ୍ଗ ଉଠାଇ,
ପ୍ରାଚୀନକାଳରୁ ଆପଣା ପବିତ୍ର ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯେପରି କହିଥିଲେ, (aiōn g165)
71 salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us,
ସେପରି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଘୃଣାକାରୀଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ସାଧନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି,
72 to show mercy to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,
ଯେପରି ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି,
73 the oath He swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତା ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଶପଥ କରିଥିଲେ, ଆପଣାର ସେହି ପବିତ୍ର ନିୟମ ସ୍ମରଣ କରନ୍ତି,
74 deliverance from hostile hands, that we may serve Him without fear,
ପୁଣି, ଯେପରି ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପାଇ ନିର୍ଭୟରେ ଚିରକାଳ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ,
75 in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our lives.
ପବିତ୍ରତା ଓ ଧାର୍ମିକତାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଉପାସନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ କରନ୍ତି।
76 And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him,
ଆଉ ହେ ଶିଶୁ, ତୁ ପରାତ୍ପରଙ୍କ ଭାବବାଦୀ ବୋଲି ଖ୍ୟାତ ହେବୁ;
77 to give to His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,
କାରଣ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଓ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଛାୟାରେ ବସିଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଆଲୋକ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ,
78 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high,
ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଦ ଶାନ୍ତିପଥକୁ ଆଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ନେହପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରୁଣା ହେତୁ, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱରୁ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟୋଦୟ ହେବ,
79 to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
ସେହି ସ୍ନେହପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରୁଣା ହେତୁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାପମୋଚନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁ (ବାପ୍ତିଜକ ଯୋହନ) ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଥ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବାକୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅଗ୍ରଗାମୀ ହେବୁ।”
80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until the time of his public appearance to Israel.
ପୁଣି, ଶିଶୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇ ଆତ୍ମାରେ ଶକ୍ତିମାନ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ ଏବଂ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ନ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ରହିଲେ।
