Luke 23
1 Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.
௧அவர்களுடைய கூட்டத்தாரெல்லோரும் எழுந்திருந்து, அவரைப் பிலாத்துவினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோய்:
2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”
௨இவன் தன்னைக் கிறிஸ்து என்னப்பட்ட ராஜாவென்றும், ராயருக்கு வரிகொடுக்க வேண்டியதில்லையென்றும் சொல்லி, மக்களைக் கலகப்படுத்தக் கண்டோம் என்று அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்தத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
3 So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
௩பிலாத்து அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீ யூதர்களுடைய ராஜாவா என்று கேட்டான். அவர் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக; நீர் சொல்லுகிறபடிதான் என்றார்.
4 Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
௪அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களையும் மக்களையும் பார்த்து: இந்த மனிதனிடத்தில் நான் ஒரு குற்றத்தையும் காணவில்லை என்றான்.
5 But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
௫அதற்கு அவர்கள்: இவன் கலிலேயா நாடுதொடங்கி இந்த இடம்வரைக்கும் யூதேயா தேசமெங்கும் உபதேசம் செய்து, மக்களைக் கலகப்படுத்துகிறான் என்று வைராக்கியத்தோடு சொன்னார்கள்.
6 When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
௬கலிலேயா என்பதைப் பிலாத்து கேட்டபொழுது, இந்த மனிதன் கலிலேயனா என்று விசாரித்து,
7 And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.
௭அவர் ஏரோதின் அதிகாரத்திற்குள்ளானவர் என்று அறிந்து, அந்த நாட்களிலே எருசலேமிலே வந்திருந்த ஏரோதுவினிடத்திற்கு அவரை அனுப்பினான்.
8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.
௮ஏரோது இயேசுவைக்குறித்து அநேக காரியங்களைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருந்ததினாலும், அவரால் செய்யப்படும் அடையாளத்தைப் பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று விரும்பியிருந்ததினாலும், அவரைக் காணும்படி வெகுநாளாக ஆசைகொண்டிருந்தான். அந்தப்படி அவரைப் பார்த்தபோது, மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு,
9 Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.
௯அநேக காரியங்களைக்குறித்து, அவரிடத்தில் கேள்வி கேட்டான். அவர் மறுமொழியாக அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் சொல்லவில்லை.
10 Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.
௧0பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் வேதபண்டிதர்களும் அவர்மேல் பிடிவாதமாகக் குற்றஞ்சுமத்திக்கொண்டே நின்றார்கள்.
11 And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.
௧௧அப்பொழுது ஏரோது தன் போர் வீரர்களோடுகூட அவரை நிந்தித்து, கேலிசெய்து மினுக்கான ஆடையை அவருக்கு அணிந்து, அவரைத் திரும்பப் பிலாத்துவினிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான்.
12 That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.
௧௨முன்னே ஒருவருக்கொருவர் விரோதிகளாக இருந்த பிலாத்துவும் ஏரோதும் அன்றையதினம் நண்பர்களானார்கள்.
13 Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
௧௩பிலாத்து பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களையும் அதிகாரிகளையும் மக்களையும் கூடிவரச்செய்து,
14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
௧௪அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மக்களைக் கலகத்திற்குத் தூண்டிவிடுகிறவனாக இந்த மனிதனை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தீர்கள்; நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக விசாரித்தபோது, இவன்மேல் நீங்கள் சாட்டுகிற குற்றங்களில் ஒன்றையும் நான் இவனிடத்தில் காணவில்லை.
15 Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.
௧௫உங்களை ஏரோதினிடத்திற்கும் அனுப்பினேன்; அவரும் இவனிடத்தில் குற்றம் காணவில்லை; மரணத்திற்கு ஏதுவாக இவன் ஒன்றும் செய்யவில்லையே.
16 Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”
௧௬எனவே இவனைத் தண்டித்து, விடுதலையாக்குவேன் என்றான்.
௧௭பண்டிகைதோறும் அவர்களுக்கு ஒருவனை அவன் விடுதலையாக்குவது வழக்கமாக இருந்தபடியால் அப்படிச் சொன்னான்.
18 But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”
௧௮மக்களெல்லோரும் அதைக்கேட்டு: இவனை அகற்றும், பரபாசை எங்களுக்கு விடுதலையாக்கும் என்று சத்தமிட்டுக்கேட்டார்கள்.
19 (Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
௧௯அந்த பரபாஸ் என்பவன் நகரத்தில் நடந்த ஒரு கலவரத்தினிமித்தமும் கொலை குற்றத்தினிமித்தமும் காவலிலே வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தான்.
20 Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,
௨0பிலாத்து இயேசுவை விடுதலையாக்க விரும்பி, மறுபடியும் அவர்களிடத்தில் பேசினான்.
21 but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
௨௧அவர்களோ: அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும், சிலுவையில் அறையும் என்று கூச்சலிட்டார்கள்.
22 A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”
௨௨அவன் மூன்றாம்முறை அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: ஏன், இவன் என்ன குற்றம் செய்தான்? மரணத்திற்கு ஏதுவான குற்றம் ஒன்றும் இவனிடத்தில் நான் காணவில்லையே; ஆகவே, நான் இவனை தண்டித்து, விடுதலையாக்குவேன் என்றான்.
23 But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.
௨௩அப்படியிருந்தும் அவரை சிலுவையில் அறையவேண்டுமென்று அவர்கள் உரத்த சத்தத்தோடு கேட்டுக்கொண்டேயிருந்தார்கள். அவர்களும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் இட்ட சத்தம் மேற்கொண்டது.
24 So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.
௨௪அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டபடியே ஆகட்டும் என்று பிலாத்து தீர்ப்புசெய்து,
25 As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and handed Jesus over to their will.
௨௫கலவரத்தினிமித்தமும் கொலைக் குற்றத்தினிமித்தமும் காவலில் போடப்பட்டிருந்த பரபாசை அவர்கள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டபடியே விடுதலையாக்கி, இயேசுவையோ அவர்கள் விருப்பத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.
26 As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
௨௬அவர்கள் இயேசுவைக் கொண்டுபோகிறபோது, நாட்டிலிருந்து வருகிற சிரேனே ஊரானாகிய சீமோன் என்கிற ஒருவனைப் பிடித்து, சிலுவையை அவருக்குப் பின்னே சுமந்துகொண்டுவரும்படி அதை அவன்மேல் வைத்தார்கள்.
27 A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him.
௨௭திரள்கூட்டமான மக்களும் அவருக்காகப் கதறி அழுகிற பெண்களும் அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள்.
28 But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
௨௮இயேசு அவர்கள் பக்கமாகத் திரும்பி: எருசலேமின் குமாரத்திகளே, நீங்கள் எனக்காக அழாமல், உங்களுக்காகவும் உங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்காகவும் அழுங்கள்.
29 Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’
௨௯இதோ, மலடிகள் பாக்கியவதிகளென்றும், பிள்ளைபெறாத கர்ப்பங்களும் பால்கொடாத மார்பகங்களும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்றும் சொல்லப்படும் நாட்கள் வரும்.
30 At that time ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’
௩0அப்பொழுது மலைகளைப் பார்த்து: எங்களின்மேல் விழுங்களென்றும், குன்றுகளைப் பார்த்து: எங்களை மறைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்களென்றும் சொல்லத்தொடங்குவார்கள்.
31 For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
௩௧பச்சைமரத்திற்கு இவைகளைச் செய்தால், பட்டமரத்திற்கு என்ன செய்யமாட்டார்கள்” என்றார்.
32 Two others, who were criminals, were also led away to be executed with Jesus.
௩௨குற்றவாளிகளாகிய வேறு இரண்டுபேரும் அவரோடுகூடக் கொலைசெய்யப்படுவதற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.
33 When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.
௩௩கபாலஸ்தலம் என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட இடத்தில் அவர்கள் சேர்ந்தபொழுது, அங்கே அவரையும், அவருடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் ஒரு குற்றவாளியையும், அவருடைய இடதுபக்கத்தில் ஒரு குற்றவாளியையும் சிலுவைகளில் அறைந்தார்கள்.
34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.
௩௪அப்பொழுது இயேசு: பிதாவே, இவர்களுக்கு மன்னியும், தாங்கள் செய்கிறது இன்னதென்று அறியாதிருக்கிறார்களே என்றார். அவருடைய ஆடைகளை அவர்கள் பங்கிட்டுச் சீட்டுப்போட்டார்கள்.
35 The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
௩௫மக்கள் நின்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அவர்களோடு அதிகாரிகளும் அவரை ஏளனம்செய்து: இவன் மற்றவர்களை இரட்சித்தான், இவன் தேவனால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட கிறிஸ்துவானால், தன்னைத்தானே இரட்சித்துக்கொள்ளட்டும் என்றார்கள்.
36 The soldiers also mocked Him and came up to offer Him sour wine.
௩௬போர்வீரர்களும் அவரிடத்தில் சேர்ந்து, அவருக்குக் காடியைக் கொடுத்து:
37 “If You are the King of the Jews,” they said, “save Yourself!”
௩௭நீ யூதர்களின் ராஜாவானால், உன்னை இரட்சித்துக்கொள் என்று அவரைக் கேலிசெய்தார்கள்.
38 Above Him was posted an inscription: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
௩௮இவன் யூதர்களுடைய ராஜா என்று, கிரேக்கு, லத்தீன், எபிரெயு எழுத்துக்களில் எழுதி, அவருக்கு மேலாக வைக்கப்பட்டது.
39 One of the criminals who hung there heaped abuse on Him. “Are You not the Christ?” he said. “Save Yourself and us!”
௩௯அன்றியும் சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்டிருந்த குற்றவாளிகளில் ஒருவன்: நீ கிறிஸ்துவானால் உன்னையும் எங்களையும் இரட்சித்துக்கொள் என்று அவரை இழிவாகப் பேசினான்.
40 But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?
௪0மற்றவன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ இந்த தண்டனைக்குட்பட்டவனாக இருந்தும் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறதில்லையா?
41 We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
௪௧நாமோ நியாயப்படி தண்டிக்கப்படுகிறோம்; நாம் செய்தவைகளுக்குத் தக்க பலனை அடைகிறோம்; இவரோ தகாததொன்றையும் செய்யவில்லையே என்று அவனைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு,
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”
௪௨இயேசுவைப் பார்த்து: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் உம்முடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் வரும்போது அடியேனை நினைத்தருளும் என்றான்.
43 And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
௪௩இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: இன்றைக்கு நீ என்னுடனேகூடப் பரதீசிலிருப்பாய் என்று உண்மையாகவே உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.
௪௪அப்பொழுது ஏறக்குறைய பகல் பன்னிரண்டு மணியாக இருந்தது; மூன்று மணிவரைக்கும் பூமியெங்கும் இருளுண்டானது.
45 The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
௪௫சூரியன் இருளடைந்தது, தேவாலயத்தின் திரைச்சீலை நடுவில் இரண்டாகக் கிழிந்தது.
46 Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.
௪௬இயேசு: பிதாவே, உம்முடைய கைகளில் என் ஆவியை ஒப்புவிக்கிறேன் என்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டுச் சொன்னார்; இப்படிச் சொல்லி, ஜீவனை விட்டார்.
47 When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
௪௭நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதி சம்பவித்ததைக் கண்டு: மெய்யாகவே இந்த மனிதன் நீதிமானாக இருந்தான் என்று சொல்லி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினான்.
48 And when all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.
௪௮இந்தக் காட்சியைப் பார்க்கும்படி கூடிவந்திருந்த மக்களெல்லோரும் சம்பவித்தவைகளைப் பார்த்தபொழுது, தங்களுடைய மார்பில் அடித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.
49 But all those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these things.
௪௯அவருக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்களெல்லோரும், கலிலேயாவிலிருந்து அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்ற பெண்களும் தூரத்திலே நின்று இவைகளைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
50 Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,
௫0யோசேப்பு என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஒரு ஆலோசனைக்காரன் இருந்தான்; அவன் உத்தமனும் நீதிமானுமாக இருந்தான்.
51 who had not consented to their decision or action. He was from the Judean town of Arimathea, and was waiting for the kingdom of God.
௫௧அவன் யூதர்களுடைய பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றாகிய அரிமத்தியாவிலிருந்து வந்தவனும், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்குக் காத்திருந்தவனும், யூதர்களுடைய ஆலோசனைக்கும் செய்கைக்கும் சம்மதிக்காதவனுமாக இருந்தான்.
52 He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
௫௨அவன் பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில்போய், இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தைக் கேட்டு,
53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
௫௩அதை இறக்கி, மெல்லிய துணியிலே சுற்றி, கன்மலையில் வெட்டப்பட்டதும் ஒருபோதும் ஒருவனும் வைக்கப்படாததுமாக இருந்த ஒரு கல்லறையிலே வைத்தான்.
54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was beginning.
௫௪அந்த நாள் ஆயத்தநாளாக இருந்தது; ஓய்வுநாளும் ஆரம்பமானது.
55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.
௫௫கலிலேயாவிலிருந்து அவருடன் வந்திருந்த பெண்களும் பின்னேசென்று, கல்லறையையும் அவருடைய சரீரம் வைக்கப்பட்ட விதத்தையும் பார்த்து,
56 Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
௫௬திரும்பிப்போய், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும் பரிமளதைலங்களையும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, கட்டளையின்படியே ஓய்வுநாளில் ஓய்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
