Luke 19
1 Then Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.
யதா³ யீஸு² ர்யிரீஹோபுரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய தந்மத்⁴யேந க³ச்ச²ம்’ஸ்ததா³
2 And there was a man named Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, who was very wealthy.
ஸக்கேயநாமா கரஸஞ்சாயிநாம்’ ப்ரதா⁴நோ த⁴நவாநேகோ
3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but could not see over the crowd because he was small in stature.
யீஸு²: கீத்³ரு’கி³தி த்³ரஷ்டும்’ சேஷ்டிதவாந் கிந்து க²ர்வ்வத்வால்லோகஸம்’க⁴மத்⁴யே தத்³த³ர்ஸ²நமப்ராப்ய
4 So he ran on ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see Him, since Jesus was about to pass that way.
யேந பதா² ஸ யாஸ்யதி தத்பதே²(அ)க்³ரே தா⁴வித்வா தம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும் உடு³ம்ப³ரதருமாருரோஹ|
5 When Jesus came to that place, He looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry down, for I must stay at your house today.”
பஸ்²சாத்³ யீஸு²ஸ்தத்ஸ்தா²நம் இத்வா ஊர்த்³த்⁴வம்’ விலோக்ய தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வாவாதீ³த், ஹே ஸக்கேய த்வம்’ ஸீ²க்⁴ரமவரோஹ மயாத்³ய த்வத்³கே³ஹே வஸ்தவ்யம்’|
6 So Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed Him joyfully.
தத: ஸ ஸீ²க்⁴ரமவருஹ்ய ஸாஹ்லாத³ம்’ தம்’ ஜக்³ராஹ|
7 And all who saw this began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinful man!”
தத்³ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ஸர்வ்வே விவத³மாநா வக்துமாரேபி⁴ரே, ஸோதிதி²த்வேந து³ஷ்டலோகக்³ரு’ஹம்’ க³ச்ச²தி|
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will repay it fourfold.”
கிந்து ஸக்கேயோ த³ண்டா³யமாநோ வக்துமாரேபே⁴, ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ பஸ்²ய மம யா ஸம்பத்திரஸ்தி தத³ர்த்³த⁴ம்’ த³ரித்³ரேப்⁴யோ த³தே³, அபரம் அந்யாயம்’ க்ரு’த்வா கஸ்மாத³பி யதி³ கதா³பி கிஞ்சித் மயா க்³ரு’ஹீதம்’ தர்ஹி தச்சதுர்கு³ணம்’ த³தா³மி|
9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham.
ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தமுக்தவாந் அயமபி இப்³ராஹீம: ஸந்தாநோ(அ)த: காரணாத்³ அத்³யாஸ்ய க்³ரு’ஹே த்ராணமுபஸ்தி²தம்’|
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
யத்³ ஹாரிதம்’ தத் ம்ரு’க³யிதும்’ ரக்ஷிதுஞ்ச மநுஷ்யபுத்ர ஆக³தவாந்|
11 While the people were listening to this, Jesus proceeded to tell them a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought the kingdom of God would appear imminently.
அத² ஸ யிரூஸா²லம: ஸமீப உபாதிஷ்ட²த்³ ஈஸ்²வரராஜத்வஸ்யாநுஷ்டா²நம்’ ததை³வ ப⁴விஷ்யதீதி லோகைரந்வபூ⁴யத, தஸ்மாத் ஸ ஸ்²ரோத்ரு’ப்⁴ய: புநர்த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தகதா²ம் உத்தா²ப்ய கத²யாமாஸ|
12 So He said, “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to lay claim to his kingship and then return.
கோபி மஹால்லோகோ நிஜார்த²ம்’ ராஜத்வபத³ம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா புநராக³ந்தும்’ தூ³ரதே³ஸ²ம்’ ஜகா³ம|
13 Beforehand, he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Conduct business with this until I return,’ he said.
யாத்ராகாலே நிஜாந் த³ஸ²தா³ஸாந் ஆஹூய த³ஸ²ஸ்வர்ணமுத்³ரா த³த்த்வா மமாக³மநபர்ய்யந்தம்’ வாணிஜ்யம்’ குருதேத்யாதி³தே³ஸ²|
14 But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want this man to rule over us.’
கிந்து தஸ்ய ப்ரஜாஸ்தமவஜ்ஞாய மநுஷ்யமேநம் அஸ்மாகமுபரி ராஜத்வம்’ ந காரயிவ்யாம இமாம்’ வார்த்தாம்’ தந்நிகடே ப்ரேரயாமாஸு: |
15 When he returned from procuring his kingship, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had earned.
அத² ஸ ராஜத்வபத³ம்’ ப்ராப்யாக³தவாந் ஏகைகோ ஜநோ பா³ணிஜ்யேந கிம்’ லப்³த⁴வாந் இதி ஜ்ஞாதும்’ யேஷு தா³ஸேஷு முத்³ரா அர்பயத் தாந் ஆஹூயாநேதும் ஆதி³தே³ஸ²|
16 The first servant came forward and said, ‘Master, your mina has produced ten more minas.’
ததா³ ப்ரத²ம ஆக³த்ய கதி²தவாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ தவ தயைகயா முத்³ரயா த³ஸ²முத்³ரா லப்³தா⁴: |
17 His master replied, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
தத: ஸ உவாச த்வமுத்தமோ தா³ஸ: ஸ்வல்பேந விஸ்²வாஸ்யோ ஜாத இத: காரணாத் த்வம்’ த³ஸ²நக³ராணாம் அதி⁴போ ப⁴வ|
18 The second servant came and said, ‘Master, your mina has made five minas.’
த்³விதீய ஆக³த்ய கதி²தவாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ தவைகயா முத்³ரயா பஞ்சமுத்³ரா லப்³தா⁴: |
19 And to this one he said, ‘You shall have authority over five cities.’
தத: ஸ உவாச, த்வம்’ பஞ்சாநாம்’ நக³ராணாமதி⁴பதி ர்ப⁴வ|
20 Then another servant came and said, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have laid away in a piece of cloth.
ததோந்ய ஆக³த்ய கத²யாமாஸ, ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ பஸ்²ய தவ யா முத்³ரா அஹம்’ வஸ்த்ரே ப³த்³த்⁴வாஸ்தா²பயம்’ ஸேயம்’|
21 For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow.’
த்வம்’ க்ரு’பணோ யந்நாஸ்தா²பயஸ்தத³பி க்³ரு’ஹ்லாஸி, யந்நாவபஸ்ததே³வ ச சி²நத்ஸி ததோஹம்’ த்வத்தோ பீ⁴த: |
22 His master replied, ‘You wicked servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?
ததா³ ஸ ஜகா³த³, ரே து³ஷ்டதா³ஸ தவ வாக்யேந த்வாம்’ தோ³ஷிணம்’ கரிஷ்யாமி, யத³ஹம்’ நாஸ்தா²பயம்’ ததே³வ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாமி, யத³ஹம்’ நாவபஞ்ச ததே³வ சி²நத்³மி, ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²: க்ரு’பணோஹமிதி யதி³ த்வம்’ ஜாநாஸி,
23 Why then did you not deposit my money in the bank, and upon my return I could have collected it with interest?’
தர்ஹி மம முத்³ரா ப³ணிஜாம்’ நிகடே குதோ நாஸ்தா²பய: ? தயா க்ரு’தே(அ)ஹம் ஆக³த்ய குஸீதே³ந ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ நிஜமுத்³ரா அப்ராப்ஸ்யம்|
24 Then he told those standing by, ‘Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
பஸ்²சாத் ஸ ஸமீபஸ்தா²ந் ஜநாந் ஆஜ்ஞாபயத் அஸ்மாத் முத்³ரா ஆநீய யஸ்ய த³ஸ²முத்³ரா: ஸந்தி தஸ்மை த³த்த|
25 ‘Master,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
தே ப்ரோசு: ப்ரபோ⁴(அ)ஸ்ய த³ஸ²முத்³ரா: ஸந்தி|
26 He replied, ‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more; but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ வதா³மி யஸ்யாஸ்²ரயே வத்³த⁴தே (அ)தி⁴கம்’ தஸ்மை தா³யிஷ்யதே, கிந்து யஸ்யாஸ்²ரயே ந வர்த்³த⁴தே தஸ்ய யத்³யத³ஸ்தி தத³பி தஸ்மாந் நாயிஷ்யதே|
27 And these enemies of mine who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.’”
கிந்து மமாதி⁴பதித்வஸ்ய வஸ²த்வே ஸ்தா²தும் அஸம்மந்யமாநா யே மம ரிபவஸ்தாநாநீய மம ஸமக்ஷம்’ ஸம்’ஹரத|
28 After Jesus had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
இத்யுபதே³ஸ²கதா²ம்’ கத²யித்வா ஸோக்³ரக³: ஸந் யிரூஸா²லமபுரம்’ யயௌ|
29 As He approached Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, He sent out two of His disciples,
ததோ பை³த்ப²கீ³பை³த²நீயாக்³ராமயோ: ஸமீபே ஜைதுநாத்³ரேரந்திகம் இத்வா ஸி²ஷ்யத்³வயம் இத்யுக்த்வா ப்ரேஷயாமாஸ,
30 saying, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.
யுவாமமும்’ ஸம்முக²ஸ்த²க்³ராமம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²யைவ யம்’ கோபி மாநுஷ: கதா³பி நாரோஹத் தம்’ க³ர்த்³த³ப⁴ஸா²வகம்’ ப³த்³த⁴ம்’ த்³ரக்ஷ்யத²ஸ்தம்’ மோசயித்வாநயதம்’|
31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
தத்ர குதோ மோசயத²: ? இதி சேத் கோபி வக்ஷ்யதி தர்ஹி வக்ஷ்யத²: ப்ரபே⁴ரத்ர ப்ரயோஜநம் ஆஸ்தே|
32 So those who were sent went out and found it just as Jesus had told them.
ததா³ தௌ ப்ரரிதௌ க³த்வா தத்கதா²நுஸாரேண ஸர்வ்வம்’ ப்ராப்தௌ|
33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked, “Why are you untying the colt?”
க³ர்த³ப⁴ஸா²வகமோசநகாலே தத்வாமிந ஊசு: , க³ர்த³ப⁴ஸா²வகம்’ குதோ மோசயத²: ?
34 “The Lord needs it,” they answered.
தாவூசது: ப்ரபோ⁴ரத்ர ப்ரயோஜநம் ஆஸ்தே|
35 Then they led the colt to Jesus, threw their cloaks over it, and put Jesus on it.
பஸ்²சாத் தௌ தம்’ க³ர்த³ப⁴ஸா²வகம்’ யீஸோ²ரந்திகமாநீய தத்ப்ரு’ஷ்டே² நிஜவஸநாநி பாதயித்வா தது³பரி யீஸு²மாரோஹயாமாஸது: |
36 As He rode along, the people spread their cloaks on the road.
அத² யாத்ராகாலே லோகா: பதி² ஸ்வவஸ்த்ராணி பாதயிதும் ஆரேபி⁴ரே|
37 And as He approached the descent from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to praise God joyfully in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:
அபரம்’ ஜைதுநாத்³ரேருபத்யகாம் இத்வா ஸி²ஷ்யஸம்’க⁴: பூர்வ்வத்³ரு’ஷ்டாநி மஹாகர்ம்மாணி ஸ்ம்ரு’த்வா,
38 “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
யோ ராஜா ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நாயாதி ஸ த⁴ந்ய: ஸ்வர்கே³ குஸ²லம்’ ஸர்வ்வோச்சே ஜயத்⁴வநி ர்ப⁴வது, கதா²மேதாம்’ கத²யித்வா ஸாநந்த³ம் உசைரீஸ்²வரம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வக்துமாரேபே⁴|
39 But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!”
ததா³ லோகாரண்யமத்⁴யஸ்தா²: கியந்த: பி²ரூஸி²நஸ்தத் ஸ்²ருத்வா யீஸு²ம்’ ப்ரோசு: , ஹே உபதே³ஸ²க ஸ்வஸி²ஷ்யாந் தர்ஜய|
40 “I tell you,” He answered, “if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.”
ஸ உவாச, யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ வதா³மி யத்³யமீ நீரவாஸ்திஷ்ட²ந்தி தர்ஹி பாஷாணா உசை: கதா²: கத²யிஷ்யந்தி|
41 As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it
பஸ்²சாத் தத்புராந்திகமேத்ய தத³வலோக்ய ஸாஸ்²ருபாதம்’ ஜகா³த³,
42 and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes.
ஹா ஹா சேத் த்வமக்³ரே(அ)ஜ்ஞாஸ்யதா²: , தவாஸ்மிந்நேவ தி³நே வா யதி³ ஸ்வமங்க³லம் உபாலப்ஸ்யதா²: , தர்ஹ்யுத்தமம் அப⁴விஷ்யத், கிந்து க்ஷணேஸ்மிந் தத்தவ த்³ரு’ஷ்டேரகோ³சரம் ப⁴வதி|
43 For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side.
த்வம்’ ஸ்வத்ராணகாலே ந மநோ ந்யத⁴த்தா² இதி ஹேதோ ர்யத்காலே தவ ரிபவஸ்த்வாம்’ சதுர்தி³க்ஷு ப்ராசீரேண வேஷ்டயித்வா ரோத்ஸ்யந்தி
44 They will level you to the ground—you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”
பா³லகை: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ பூ⁴மிஸாத் கரிஷ்யந்தி ச த்வந்மத்⁴யே பாஷாணைகோபி பாஷாணோபரி ந ஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி ச, கால ஈத்³ரு’ஸ² உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி|
45 Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling there.
அத² மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய தத்ரத்யாந் க்ரயிவிக்ரயிணோ ப³ஹிஷ்குர்வ்வந்
46 He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be a house of prayer.’ But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
அவத³த் மத்³க்³ரு’ஹம்’ ப்ரார்த²நாக்³ரு’ஹமிதி லிபிராஸ்தே கிந்து யூயம்’ ததே³வ சைராணாம்’ க³ஹ்வரம்’ குருத²|
47 Jesus was teaching at the temple every day, but the chief priests, scribes, and leaders of the people were intent on killing Him.
பஸ்²சாத் ஸ ப்ரத்யஹம்’ மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம் உபதி³தே³ஸ²; தத: ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகா அத்⁴யாபகா: ப்ராசீநாஸ்²ச தம்’ நாஸ²யிதும்’ சிசேஷ்டிரே;
48 Yet they could not find a way to do so, because all the people hung on His words.
கிந்து தது³பதே³ஸே² ஸர்வ்வே லோகா நிவிஷ்டசித்தா: ஸ்தி²தாஸ்தஸ்மாத் தே தத்கர்த்தும்’ நாவகாஸ²ம்’ ப்ராபு: |
