< Lamentations 3 >

1 I am the man who has seen affliction under the rod of God’s wrath.
Nze muntu eyakangavvulwa n’omuggo ogw’obusungu bwe.
2 He has driven me away and made me walk in darkness instead of light.
Angobye mu maaso ge n’antambuliza mu kizikiza, awatali kitangaala;
3 Indeed, He keeps turning His hand against me all day long.
ddala, omukono gwe gunnwanyisizza emirundi egiddiriŋŋanwa olunaku lwonna.
4 He has worn away my flesh and skin; He has shattered my bones.
Akaddiyizza omubiri gwange n’eddiba lyange era amenye n’amagumba gange.
5 He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
Antaayizza n’anzijuza obulumi n’okubonaabona.
6 He has made me dwell in darkness like those dead for ages.
Antadde mu kizikiza ng’abafu abaafa edda.
7 He has walled me in so I cannot escape; He has weighed me down with chains.
Ankomedde n’okuyinza ne siyinza kudduka, ansibye enjegere ezizitowa.
8 Even when I cry out and plead for help, He shuts out my prayer.
Ne bwe mukoowoola ne mukaabira nga mmusaba anyambe, okusaba kwange akuggalira bweru.
9 He has barred my ways with cut stones; He has made my paths crooked.
Anteeredde amayinja mu kkubo lyange era akyamizza amakubo gange.
10 He is a bear lying in wait, a lion hiding in ambush.
Ng’eddubu bwe liteega, n’empologoma bwe yeekweka
11 He forced me off my path and tore me to pieces; He left me without help.
yansikambula n’anziggya mu kkubo lyange n’antaagulataagula n’andeka awo nga sirina anyamba.
12 He bent His bow and set me as the target for His arrow.
Yanaanuula omutego gwe, n’anteekawo okuba ssabbaawa ey’obusaale bwe.
13 He pierced my kidneys with His arrows.
Yafumita omutima gwange n’obusaale okuva mu mufuko gwe.
14 I am a laughingstock to all my people; they mock me in song all day long.
Nafuuka ekisekererwa eri abantu bonna, era bannyooma nga bannyimbirira okuzibya obudde.
15 He has filled me with bitterness; He has intoxicated me with wormwood.
Anzijuzza ebikaawa era ampadde ekikompe eky’obubalagaze nkinywe.
16 He has ground my teeth with gravel and trampled me in the dust.
Ampadde oluyinjayinja okululya amannyo gange ne gamenyeka; anninnyiridde mu nfuufu.
17 My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
Emmeeme yange terina mirembe, n’okujjukira sijjukira bugagga bwe bufaanana.
18 So I say, “My strength has perished, along with my hope from the LORD.”
Era njogera nti, “Ekitiibwa kyange kigenze, n’essuubi lyonna lye nalina mu Mukama limpeddeko.”
19 Remember my affliction and wandering, the wormwood and the gall.
Nzijukira okubonaabona kwange n’okuwankawanka kwange, n’obulumi n’obubalagaze.
20 Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me.
Mbijjukira bulungi era bwe mbirowoozaako omutima gwange gulumwa.
21 Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:
Ebyo byonna mbijjukira, kyenvudde mbeera n’essuubi.
22 Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail.
Olw’okwagala kwa Mukama okutaggwaawo, tetulimalibwawo, kubanga ekisa kye tekiggwaawo.
23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
Buli lukya ekisa kyo kiba kiggya; n’obwesigwa bwo bwa lubeerera.
24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
Njogera mu mutima gwange nti, “Mukama gwe mugabo gwange, kyenaava mbeera n’essuubi mu ye.”
25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Mukama mulungi eri abo abamulinamu essuubi, eri oyo amunoonya.
26 It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
Kirungi omuntu okulindirira obulokozi bwa Mukama n’obukkakkamu.
27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is still young.
Kirungi omuntu okwetikka ekikoligo kye mu buvubuka bwe.
28 Let him sit alone in silence, for God has disciplined him.
Atuulenga yekka mu kasirise kubanga Mukama y’akimwambiseemu.
29 Let him bury his face in the dust— perhaps there is still hope.
Leka akweke amaaso ge mu nfuufu, mpozi wanaabaawo essuubi.
30 Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with reproach.
Leka aweeyo oluba lwe okukubibwa, era amalibwe n’okuvumibwa.
31 For the Lord will not cast us off forever.
Kubanga Mukama taligobera bantu bweru ebbanga lyonna.
32 Even if He causes grief, He will show compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.
Newaakubadde ng’aleeta obulumi, aliraga ekisa kubanga okwagala kwe kungi nnyo tekuggwaawo.
33 For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.
Tagenderera kuleeta bulumi newaakubadde okubonaabona ku baana ba bantu.
34 To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land,
Mukama akkiriziganya n’okulinnyirira abasibe,
35 to deny a man justice before the Most High,
n’okuggyako omuntu obwetwaze bwe mu maaso g’Oyo Ali Waggulu Ennyo,
36 to subvert a man in his lawsuit— of these the Lord does not approve.
oba n’obutaba na bwenkanya eri omuntu?
37 Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has ordained it?
Ani ayinza okwogera ekintu ne kituukirira, Mukama nga takiragidde?
38 Do not both adversity and good come from the mouth of the Most High?
Mu kamwa k’oyo Ali Waggulu Ennyo, si mmwe muva ebigambo eby’okubeerwa n’eby’okubonereza?
39 Why should any mortal man complain, in view of his sins?
Lwaki omuntu omulamu yeemulugunya, bw’abonerezebwa olw’ebibi bye?
40 Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.
Twekebere engeri zaffe, era tuzeetegereze, tudde eri Mukama.
41 Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
Tuyimuse emitima gyaffe n’emikono gyaffe eri Katonda mu ggulu, twogere nti,
42 “We have sinned and rebelled; You have not forgiven.”
“Twayonoona ne tujeema, tokyerabiranga era tonatusonyiwa.
43 You have covered Yourself in anger and pursued us; You have killed without pity.
“Ojjudde obusungu n’otugobaganya, n’otutta awatali kutusaasira.
44 You have covered Yourself with a cloud that no prayer can pass through.
Weebisseeko ekire, waleme okubaawo okusaba n’okumu okutuuka gy’oli.
45 You have made us scum and refuse among the nations.
Otufudde obusa n’ebisasiro mu mawanga.
46 All our enemies open their mouths against us.
“Abalabe baffe bonna batwogerako ebigambo ebibi.
47 Panic and pitfall have come upon us— devastation and destruction.
Tubonyeebonye olw’entiisa n’emitego n’okunyagibwa n’okuzikirizibwa.”
48 Streams of tears flow from my eyes over the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Amaaso gange gakulukuta emigga gy’amaziga olw’okuzikirira kw’abantu bange.
49 My eyes overflow unceasingly, without relief,
Era amaaso gange ganeeyongeranga okukulukuta amaziga awatali kusirika,
50 until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.
okutuusa Mukama lw’alisinzira mu ggulu n’alaba.
51 My eyes bring grief to my soul because of all the daughters of my city.
Bye ndaba bireeta ennaku ku mutima gwange, olw’ebyo ebyatuuka ku bawala b’ekibuga kyange.
52 Without cause my enemies hunted me like a bird.
Abalabe bange banjigganya olutata ne baba ng’abayigga ennyonyi.
53 They dropped me alive into a pit and cast stones upon me.
Bagezaako okuzikiririza obulamu bwange mu bunnya, ne bankasuukirira amayinja;
54 The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.
amazzi gaabikka omutwe gwange, ne ndowooza nti, nsanyeewo.
55 I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit.
“Nakoowoola erinnya lyo, Ayi Mukama, nga ndi mu bunnya wansi ennyo;
56 You heard my plea: “Do not ignore my cry for relief.”
wawulira okwegayirira kwange: toziba matu go eri okukaaba kwange.”
57 You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”
Bwe nakukoowoola wansemberera n’oyogera nti, “Totya!”
58 You defend my cause, O Lord; You redeem my life.
Mukama watunula mu nsonga yange, era n’onunula obulamu bwange.
59 You have seen, O LORD, the wrong done to me; vindicate my cause!
Ayi Mukama, walaba ebibi bye bankola, obasalire omusango nga bwe kibagwanira.
60 You have seen all their malice, all their plots against me.
Walaba bwe bampalana, n’enkwe zaabwe zonna ze bansalira.
61 O LORD, You have heard their insults, all their plots against me—
Wawulira bye banvuma, Ayi Mukama Katonda, n’enkwe zaabwe zonna ze bansalira,
62 the slander and murmuring of my assailants against me all day long.
obwama n’ebirowoozo eby’abalabe bange bye bantesaako obudde okuziba.
63 When they sit and when they rise, see how they mock me in song.
Batunuulire mu kutuula kwabwe ne mu kuyimirira kwabwe; bannyooma nga bwe bannyimbirira.
64 You will pay them back what they deserve, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
Obasasule nga bwe kibagwanira Ayi Mukama Katonda, olw’ebikolwa eby’emikono gyabwe.
65 Put a veil of anguish over their hearts; may Your curse be upon them!
Osseeko ekibikka ku mitima gyabwe, n’ekikolimo kyo kibabeereko.
66 You will pursue them in anger and exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.
Obayigganye mu busungu bwo obazikirize ng’osinziira mu ggulu lya Mukama Katonda.
