< Judges 13 >
1 Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the LORD, so He delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.
Awo abaana ba Isirayiri ne beeyongera okukola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama. Mukama kyeyava abagabula mu mukono gw’Abafirisuuti okumala emyaka amakumi ana.
2 Now there was a man from Zorah named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, whose wife was barren and had no children.
Ne wabaawo omusajja ow’e Zola, ow’omu kika ky’Abadaani, erinnya lye Manowa, eyalina mukazi we nga mugumba.
3 The angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “It is true that you are barren and have no children; but you will conceive and give birth to a son.
Malayika wa Mukama Katonda n’alabikira omukazi n’amugamba nti, “Laba, kaakano, oli mugumba era atazaalanga ku mwana, naye oliba olubuto n’ozaala omwana wabulenzi.
4 Now please be careful not to drink wine or strong drink, and not to eat anything unclean.
Laba nga tonywa envinnyo, newaakubadde ekitamiiza kyonna, wadde okulya ekintu kyonna ekitali kirongoofu.
5 For behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son. And no razor shall come over his head, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from the womb, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hand of the Philistines.”
Kubanga, laba, oliba olubuto n’ozaala omwana wabulenzi, era tamwebwangako nviiri, kubanga omulenzi aliba Muwonge wa Katonda ng’akyali mu lubuto lwa nnyina, era yalitanula okulokola Isirayiri okuva mu mukono gw’Abafirisuuti.”
6 So the woman went and told her husband, “A man of God came to me. His appearance was like the angel of God, exceedingly awesome. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tell me his name.
Awo omukazi n’agenda n’ategeeza bba, ng’agamba nti, “Omusajja wa Katonda yandabikidde mu kifaananyi kya malayika wa Katonda, era natidde nnyo. Simubuuzizza gy’avudde, ate era naye tambulidde linnya lye.
7 But he said to me, ‘Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son. Now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from the womb until the day of his death.’”
Wabula yaŋŋambye nti, ‘Laba oliba olubuto era olizaala omwana wabulenzi. Tonywanga envinnyo newaakubadde ekitamiiza kyonna, wadde okulya ekintu kyonna ekitali kirongoofu. Kubanga omulenzi aliba Muwonge eri Katonda ng’akyali mu lubuto lwa nnyina, era bw’atyo bw’aliba ennaku ez’obulamu bwe zonna.’”
8 Then Manoah prayed to the LORD, “Please, O Lord, let the man of God You sent us come to us again to teach us how to raise the boy who is to be born.”
Awo Manowa ne yeegayirira Mukama Katonda ng’agamba nti, “Ayi Mukama wange, omusajja wa Katonda gwe watutumidde, akomewo. Ajje atuyigirize kye tuteekwa okukolera omulenzi anaatuzaalirwa.”
9 And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God returned to the woman as she was sitting in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
Katonda n’awulira eddoboozi lya Manowa, malayika wa Katonda n’akomawo eri omukazi, n’amusanga mu nnimiro, naye nga Manowa bba tali naye.
10 The woman ran quickly to tell her husband, “Behold, the man who came to me the other day has reappeared!”
Awo omukazi n’ayanguwa n’adduka n’ategeeza bba ng’agamba nti, “Laba omusajja eyandabikira olulala azze.”
11 So Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he asked, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” “I am,” he said.
Manowa n’agolokoka n’agoberera mukazi we. Bwe yatuuka awali omusajja n’amugamba nti, “Ggwe musajja eyayogera eri mukazi wange?” Malayika n’amuddamu nti, “Ye nze.”
12 Then Manoah asked, “When your words come to pass, what will be the boy’s rule of life and mission?”
Manowa n’amubuuza nti, “Ebigambo byo bwe birituukirira, biragiro ki bye tuligoberera nga tukuza omulenzi?”
13 So the angel of the LORD answered Manoah, “Your wife is to do everything I told her.
Malayika wa Mukama Katonda n’addamu Manowa nti, “Ebyo byonna bye nagamba mukazi wo ateekwa okubikola.
14 She must not eat anything that comes from the vine, nor drink any wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her.”
Mukazi wo tateekwa kulya kibala ekiva mu zabbibu, newaakubadde okunywa envinnyo, newaakubadde okunywa ekitamiiza, wadde okulya ekintu kyonna ekitali kirongoofu. Ateekwa okukola buli kintu kye namulagira.”
15 “Please stay here,” Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “and we will prepare a young goat for you.”
Awo Manowa n’agamba malayika wa Mukama Katonda nti, “Sigala wano naffe, tukuteekereteekere akabuzi akato.”
16 And the angel of the LORD replied, “Even if I stay, I will not eat your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD.” For Manoah did not know that it was the angel of the LORD.
Malayika wa Mukama Katonda n’agamba Manowa nti, “Ne bwe nnaasigala nammwe, sijja kulya ku mmere yammwe. Wabula bwe munaateekateeka ekiweebwayo ekyokebwa, mukiweeyo eri Mukama.” Mu kiseera ekyo Manowa teyamanya nga gwe yali ayogera naye yali malayika wa Mukama.
17 Then Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes to pass?”
Awo Manowa n’abuuza malayika wa Mukama Katonda nti, “Erinnya lyo ggwe ani, ekigambo ky’oyogedde bwe kirituukirira tulyoke tukuseemu ekitiibwa?”
18 “Why do you ask my name,” said the angel of the LORD, “since it is beyond comprehension?”
Malayika wa n’amuddamu nti, “Obuuliza ki erinnya lyange? Lisukka okutegeera.”
19 Then Manoah took a young goat and a grain offering and offered them on a rock to the LORD. And as Manoah and his wife looked on, the LORD did a marvelous thing.
Awo Manowa n’addira akabuzi akato, n’ekiweebwayo eky’empeke, n’abiwaayo nga ssaddaaka ku lwazi eri Mukama Katonda. Mukama n’akola eky’ekyewuunyo nga Manowa ne mukazi we balaba.
20 When the flame went up from the altar to the sky, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell facedown to the ground.
Omuliro bwe gwava mu Kyoto okugenda eri eggulu, malayika wa Mukama Katonda n’akkira mu muliro gw’ekyoto. Manowa ne mukazi we bwe baamulaba, ne bagwa wansi ne bavuunama ng’obwenyi bwabwe butuukira ddala ku ttaka.
21 And when the angel of the LORD did not appear again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it had been the angel of the LORD.
Malayika wa Mukama bw’ataddayo kweraga gye bali, Manowa ne mukazi we ne bategeera ng’abadde malayika wa Mukama Katonda.
22 “We are going to die,” he said to his wife, “for we have seen God!”
Manowa n’agamba mukazi we nti, “Tugenda kufa kubanga tulabye Katonda.”
23 But his wife replied, “If the LORD had intended to kill us, He would not have accepted the burnt offering and the grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things or spoken to us this way.”
Naye mukazi we n’amugamba nti, “Singa Mukama Katonda yabadde wa kututta, teyandisiimye kiweebwayo ekyokebwa n’ekiweebwayo eky’empeke okuva gye tuli, newaakubadde okutulaga ebintu bino byonna, wadde okututegeeza kino.”
24 So the woman gave birth to a son and named him Samson. The boy grew, and the LORD blessed him.
Awo omukazi n’azaala omwana wabulenzi, n’amutuuma Samusooni. Omwana n’akula, Mukama Katonda n’amuwa omukisa.
25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him at Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
Omwoyo wa Mukama Katonda n’atandika okukolera mu Samusooni ng’ali mu Makanedani ekiri wakati w’e Zola ne Esutaoli.
