Joshua 24
1 Then Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem. He summoned the elders, leaders, judges, and officers of Israel, and they presented themselves before God.
Ug si Josue nagtigum sa tanang kabanayan sa Israel didto sa Sechem, ug nagtawag sa mga anciano sa Israel: ug sa ilang mga pangulo, ug sa ilang mga maghuhukom, ug sa ilang mga punoan; ug sila mingtugyan sa ilang kaugalingon sa atubangan sa Dios.
2 And Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your fathers, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates and worshiped other gods.
Ug si Josue miingon sa tibook nga katawohan: Mao kini ang gipamulong ni Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel: Ang inyong mga amahan nagpuyo sa unang panahon sa unahan sa Suba, bisan si Terah, amahan ni Abraham, ug ang amahan ni Nahor: ug sila nanag-alagad ug laing mga dios.
3 But I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates and led him through all the land of Canaan, and I multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac,
Ug gikuha ko ang inyong amahan nga si Abraham gikan sa tapon sa Suba ug giagak ko siya sa pagpapanaw sa tibook nga yuta sa Canaan, ug gipadaghan ko ang iyang kaliwat, ug gihatag ko kaniya si Isaac.
4 and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I gave Esau Mount Seir to possess, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.
Ug gihatag ko kang Isaac si Jacob ug si Esau: ug gihatag ko kang Esau ang bukid sa Seir aron nga panag-iyahon niya; ug si Jacob ug ang iyang mga anak minglugsong ngadto sa Egipto.
5 Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and I afflicted the Egyptians by what I did there, and afterward I brought you out.
Ug gipaadto ko si Moises ug si Aaron, ug gisilotan ko ang Egipto sumala sa akong gibuhat sa kinataliwad-an didto: ug sa tapus, gidala ko kamo ngadto sa gawas.
6 When I brought your fathers out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and horsemen as far as the Red Sea.
Ug gidala ko ang inyong mga amahan ngadto sa gawas sa Egipto: ug kamo ming-adto sa dagat; ug ang mga Egiptohanon minggukod sa inyong mga amahan uban ang mga carro ug ang mga nangabayo ngadto sa Dagat nga Mapula.
7 So your fathers cried out to the LORD, and He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, over whom He brought the sea and engulfed them. Your very eyes saw what I did to the Egyptians. Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.
Ug sa mingtu-aw sila ngadto kang Jehova, gibutangan niya ug kangitngit ang taliwala ninyo ug sa mga Egiptohanon, ug gipatubo ang dagat labaw kanila ug gitabonan sila: ug ang inyong mga mata nakakita sa akong gibuhat didto sa Egipto: ug kamo nagpuyo sa kamingawan sa daghang mga adlaw.
8 Later, I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan. They fought against you, but I delivered them into your hand, that you should possess their land when I destroyed them before you.
Ug gidala ko kamo ngadto sa yuta sa mga Amorehanon nga namuyo sa unahan sa Jordan ug sila nakig-away batok kaninyo; ug gihatag ko sila sa inyong mga kamot ug gikuha ninyo ang ilang yuta: ug giwagtang ko sila diha sa inyong atubangan.
9 Then Balak son of Zippor, the king of Moab, set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you,
Unya si Balak, ang anak nga lalake ni Sipeo nga hari sa Moab, mitindog ug nakig-away batok sa Israel ug iyang gipaadto ug gipatawag si Baalam, ang anak nga lalake ni Beor, aron sa paghimaraut kaninyo;
10 but I would not listen to Balaam. So he blessed you again and again, and I delivered you from his hand.
Apan wala ako mamati kang Baalam; sa ingon niana siya nagpanalangin kaninyo sa gihapon: busa gipagawas ko kamo gikan sa iyang kamot.
11 After this, you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The people of Jericho fought against you, as did the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I delivered them into your hand.
Ug mingtabok kamo sa Jordan ug ming-adto sa Jerico; ug ang mga tawo sa Jerico nakig-away batok kaninyo, ang Amorehanon, ug ang Peresehanon, ug ang Canaanhon, ug ang Hetehanon ug ang Gergesehanon, ug ang Hevehanon ug ang Jebusehanon: ug gitugyan ko sila sa inyong mga kamot.
12 I sent the hornet ahead of you, and it drove out the two Amorite kings before you, but not by your own sword or bow.
Ug gipaadto ko ang tambuboan sa inyong atubangan nga maoy nagpapahawa kanila gikan kaninyo, bisan pa ang duruha ka hari sa mga Amorehanon; dili pinaagi sa inyong espada, dili usab pinaagi sa inyong pana.
13 So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities that you did not build, and now you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’
Ug gihatagan ko kamo sa usa ka yuta diin wala kamo manag-uma ug mga ciudad nga wala ninyo tukora, ug mingpuyo kamo didto; sa mga uma nga tinamnan sa mga parras ug mga oliva nga dili kamo ang nagtanum, nangaon kamo.
14 Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; cast aside the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.
Busa karon kahadloki ninyo si Jehova, ug sa kinasingkasing ug sa kamatuoran alagaron ninyo siya: ug isalikway ang mga dios nga ginaalagaran sa inyong mga amahan sa unahan sa Suba ug sa Egipto; ug mag-alagad kamo kang Jehova.
15 But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”
Ug kong daw dautan kaninyo ang pag-alagad kang Jehova, magpili kamo niining adlawa kong kinsa ang inyong alagaron; kong ang mga dios ba nga gialagaran sa inyong mga amahan didto sa unahan sa Suba, kun ang mga dios ba sa mga Amorehanon, kang kinsang yuta inyong gipuy-an: apan alang kanako ug sa akong balay, kami magaalagad kang Jehova.
16 The people replied, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods!
Ug ang katawohan mingtubag ug ming-ingon: Ipahalayo kana kanamo nga kami mobiya kang Jehova aron sa pag-alagad ug laing dios;
17 For the LORD our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us throughout our journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.
Kay si Jehova nga among Dios, siya mao ang nagkuha kanato ug sa atong mga amahan gikan sa yuta sa Egipto, gikan sa balay sa pagkaulipon, ug siya maoy naghimo niadtong dagkung mga ilhanan sa atong mga mata, ug nagbantay kanato sa tanang dalan nga atong giagian ug sa taliwala sa tanang mga katawohan sa kang kinsang kinataliwad-an kita ming-agi;
18 And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God!”
Ug si Jehova nagpapahawa sa tanang mga katawohan gikan sa atong atubangan, bisan ang mga Amorehanon nga nanagpuyo: busa kami usab magaalagad kang Jehova; kay siya mao ang among Dios.
19 But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins.
Ug si Josue miingon sa katawohan: Dili kamo makaalagad kang Jehova; kay siya mao ang usa ka balaan nga Dios; siya maoy usa ka Dios nga abughoan; siya dili mopasaylo sa inyong mga kalapasan, bisan sa inyong mga kasal-anan.
20 If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, He will turn and bring disaster on you and consume you, even after He has been good to you.”
Kong kamo mobiya kang Jehova ug moalagad ug laing mga dios, siya motalikod ug magabuhat kaninyo sa dautan, ug magaut-ut kaninyo, sa tapus nga siya makabuhat kaninyo ug maayo.
21 “No!” replied the people. “We will serve the LORD!”
Ug ang katawohan miingon kang Josue: Dili; apan kami magaalgad kang Jehova.
22 Then Joshua told them, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD.” “We are witnesses!” they said.
Ug si Josue namulong sa katawohan: Kamo ang mga saksi batok sa inyong kaugalingon nga kamo nagpili kang Jehova, sa pag-alagad kaniya. Ug sila ming-ingon: Kami mga saksi.
23 “Now, therefore,” he said, “get rid of the foreign gods among you and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”
Busa karon, isalikway ninyo, miingon siya, ang laing mga dios nga anaa kaninyo, ug ihatag ang inyong kasingkasing kang Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel.
24 So the people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and obey His voice.”
Ug ang katawohan namulong kang Josue: Kang Jehova nga among Dios kami magaalagad ug sa iyang tingog kami magapatalinghug.
25 On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he established for them a statute and ordinance.
Busa si Josue niadto gayud nga adlawa, naghimo ug usa ka tugon uban sa katawohan, ug naghatag kanila ug usa ka balaod ug usa ka tulomanon didto sa Sichem.
26 Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was near the sanctuary of the LORD.
Ug si Josue nagsulat niining mga pulonga diha sa basahon sa Kasugoan sa Dios; ug siya mikuha ug usa ka dakung bato ug gibutang kini sa ilalum sa usa ka encina nga haduol sa balaang puloy-anan ni Jehova.
27 And Joshua said to all the people, “You see this stone. It will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD has spoken to us, and it will be a witness against you if you ever deny your God.”
Ug si Josue miingon, sa tibook katawohan: Ania karon, kining batoha maoy mahimong usa ka saksi batok kanato; kay kini nakadungog sa tanang mga pulong ni Jehova nga iyang gisulti kanato: busa kini maoy usa ka saksi batok kaninyo, kay tingali unya inyong ilimod ang inyong Dios.
28 Then Joshua sent the people away, each to his own inheritance.
Busa gipapauli ni Josue ang katawohan, ang tagsatagsa ka tawo ngadto sa iyang panulondon.
29 Some time later, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110.
Ug nahitabo sa tapus kining mga butanga nga si Josue, ang anak nga lalake ni Nun, ang alagad ni Jehova, namatay, nga may usa na ka gatus ug napulo ka tuig ang panuigon.
30 And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.
Ug ilang gilubong siya diha sa utlanan sa iyang panulondon sa Timnath-sera nga anaa sa kabungtoran sa Ephraim dapit sa amihanan sa bukid sa Gaas.
31 Israel had served the LORD throughout the days of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had experienced all the works that the LORD had done for Israel.
Ug ang Israel nag-alagad kang Jehova sa tanang mga adlaw ni Josue, ug ang tanang mga adlaw sa mga anciano nga nanagsunod kang Josue ug nanghibalo sa tanang buhat ni Jehova nga iyang gihimo alang sa Israel.
32 And the bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up out of Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the plot of land that Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver. So it became an inheritance for Joseph’s descendants.
Ug ang mga bukog ni Josue nga gipanagdala sa mga anak sa Israel gikan sa Egipto, gilubong nila sa Sichem, sa bahin nga yuta nga gipalit ni Jacob sa mga anak nga lalake ni Hamor, ang amahan ni Sichem, sa usa ka gatus ka book nga salapi: ug sila nahimong panulondon sa mga anak ni Jose.
33 Eleazar son of Aaron also died, and they buried him at Gibeah, which had been given to his son Phinehas in the hill country of Ephraim.
Ug si Eleazar, ang anak nga lalake ni Aaron, namatay; ug ilang gilubong siya didto sa bungtod ni Pineas, iyang anak nga lalake, nga gihatag kaniya didto sa kabungtoran sa Ephraim.
