Joshua 13

1 Now Joshua was old and well along in years, and the LORD said to him, “You are old and well along in years, but very much of the land remains to be possessed.

যিহোশূয় বৃদ্ধ হয়ে যাওয়ার পর সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বললেন, “তুমি খুব বৃদ্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছ, আর দেশের বিস্তর এলাকা এখনও দখল করা হয়ে ওঠেনি।

2 This is the land that remains: All the territory of the Philistines and the Geshurites,

“এসব দেশ এখনও অবশিষ্ট আছে: “ফিলিস্তিনী ও গশূরীয়দের সমস্ত অঞ্চল,

3 from the Shihor east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north (considered to be Canaanite territory)—that of the five Philistine rulers of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron, as well as that of the Avvites;

মিশরের পূর্বদিকে প্রবাহিত সীহোর নদী থেকে উত্তর দিকে ইক্রোণের এলাকা পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত এলাকা, যার সম্পূর্ণটাই কনানীয়দের অধিকাররূপে গণ্য, যদিও গাজা, অস্‌দোদ, অস্কিলোন, গাৎ ও ইক্রোণে রাজত্বকারী পাঁচজন ফিলিস্তিনী রাজা তা দখল করে রেখেছে; দক্ষিণ দিকে

4 to the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Mearah of the Sidonians to Aphek, as far as the border of the Amorites;

অব্বীয়দের এলাকা; সীদোনীয়দের আরা থেকে অফেক পর্যন্ত ও ইমোরীয়দের সীমানা পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত কনানীয়দের দেশ;

5 the land of the Gebalites; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath.

গিব্‌লীয়দের অঞ্চল; এবং পূর্বদিকে হর্মোণ পর্বতের নিচে অবস্থিত বায়াল-গাদ থেকে লেবো-হমাৎ পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত সমগ্র লেবানন।

6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim—all the Sidonians—I Myself will drive out before the Israelites. Be sure to divide it by lot as an inheritance to Israel, as I have commanded you.

“লেবানন থেকে মিষ্রফোৎ-ময়িম পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের সমস্ত অধিবাসীকে, অর্থাৎ, সীদোনীয়দের সবাইকে আমি স্বয়ং ইস্রায়েলীদের সামনে থেকে তাড়িয়ে দেব। তোমাকে আমি যেমন নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলাম, সেই অনুসারে এক উত্তরাধিকাররূপে এই দেশটি তুমি অবশ্যই ইস্রায়েলীদের জন্য বরাদ্দ কোরো,

7 Now therefore divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”

এবং এটি এক উত্তরাধিকাররূপে নয় বংশের ও মনঃশির অর্ধেক বংশের মধ্যে ভাগ করে দিয়ো।”

8 The other half of Manasseh, along with the Reubenites and Gadites, had received the inheritance Moses had given them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the LORD had assigned to them:

মনঃশির অন্য অর্ধেক বংশ, রূবেণীয়রা ও গাদীয়রা তাদের সেই উত্তরাধিকার লাভ করল যা মোশি জর্ডনের পূর্বপারে তাদের দিয়েছিলেন, যেভাবে তিনি, সদাপ্রভুর দাস, তাদের জন্য সেটি বরাদ্দ করে দিয়েছিলেন।

9 The area from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon,

এটি অর্ণোন গিরিখাতের প্রান্তে অবস্থিত অরোয়ের থেকে, এবং সেই গিরিখাতের মাঝখানে অবস্থিত নগর থেকে সম্প্রসারিত হল এবং দীবোন পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত মেদ্‌বার সমগ্র মালভূমি,

10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the Ammonites;

ও অম্মোনীয়দের সীমানা পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে থাকা ইমোরীয়দের রাজা সেই সীহোনের সমস্ত নগরও এতে যুক্ত হল, যিনি হিষ্‌বোনে রাজত্ব করতেন।

11 also Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, all of Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah—

এছাড়াও এতে গিলিয়দ অঞ্চল, গশূর ও মাখার অধিবাসীদের এলাকা, সমগ্র হর্মোণ পর্বত ও সল্‌খা পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত সমগ্র বাশন যুক্ত হল—

12 the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had remained as a remnant of the Rephaim. Moses had struck them down and dispossessed them,

অর্থাৎ, বাশনে সেই ওগের সমগ্র রাজ্য, যিনি অষ্টারোৎ ও ইদ্রিয়ীতে রাজত্ব করতেন। (তিনিই রফায়ীয়দের সর্বশেষ জন) মোশি তাদের পরাজিত করলেন ও তাদের দেশ অধিকার করে নিলেন।

13 but the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites. So Geshur and Maacath dwell among the Israelites to this day.

কিন্তু ইস্রায়েলীরা গশূর ও মাখার লোকদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে তাড়িয়ে দেয়নি, তাই আজও পর্যন্ত তারা ইস্রায়েলীদের মধ্যে বসবাস করে যাচ্ছে।

14 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, just as He had promised them.

কিন্তু লেবি বংশকে তিনি কোনও উত্তরাধিকার দেননি, যেহেতু ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে উৎসর্গীকৃত ভক্ষ্য নৈবেদ্যই হল তাদের উত্তরাধিকার, যেভাবে সদাপ্রভু তাদের কাছে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন।

15 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Reuben:

16 The territory from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, to the whole plateau beyond Medeba,

অর্ণোন গিরিখাতের প্রান্তে অবস্থিত অরোয়ের থেকে, এবং গিরিখাতের মাঝখানে অবস্থিত নগর থেকে, এবং মেদ্‌বা ছাড়িয়ে সমগ্র মালভূমি থেকে

17 to Heshbon and all its cities on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamoth-baal, Beth-baal-meon,

হিষ্‌বোন এবং মালভূমিতে ছড়িয়ে থাকা নগরগুলির সাথে দীবোন, বামোৎ-বায়াল, বেথ-বায়াল-মিয়োন,

18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

যহস, কদেমোৎ, মেফাৎ,

19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth-shahar on the hill in the valley,

কিরিয়াথয়িম, সিব্‌মা, উপত্যকার পাহাড়ে অবস্থিত সেরৎ-নগর,

20 Beth-peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth—

বেথ-পিয়োর, পিস্‌গার ঢাল, ও বেথ-যিশীমোৎ

21 all the cities of the plateau and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon until Moses killed him and the chiefs of Midian (Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba), the princes of Sihon who lived in the land.

মালভূমিতে অবস্থিত সমস্ত নগর এবং হিষ্‌বোনে রাজত্বকারী ইমোরীয়দের রাজা সীহোনের সমগ্র অঞ্চল পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত এলাকা তাদের দিলেন। মোশি সীহোনকে এবং মিদিয়নীয় সর্দারদের, ইবি, রেকম, সূর, হূর ও রেবাকে—সীহোনের সঙ্গে জোট বাঁধা এই অধিপতিদের—পরাজিত করলেন, যাঁরা সেই দেশে বসবাস করতেন।

22 The Israelites also killed the diviner Balaam son of Beor along with the others they put to the sword.

যুদ্ধে যারা নিহত হল, তাদের সাথে বিয়োরের ছেলে সেই বিলিয়মকেও ইস্রায়েলীরা তরোয়াল চালিয়ে মেরে ফেলল, যে ভবিষ্যৎ-কথনের অনুশীলন করত।

23 And the border of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the clans of the Reubenites, including the cities and villages.

রূবেণীয়দের সীমানা ছিল জর্ডন নদীর পাড়। তাদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে এইসব নগর ও সেগুলির সন্নিহিত গ্রামগুলি রূবেণ বংশের অধিকার হল।

24 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Gad:

গাদ বংশকে, তাদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে মোশি এই অধিকার দিলেন:

25 The territory of Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;

যাসেরের এলাকা, গিলিয়দের সবকটি নগর এবং রব্বার নিকটবর্তী, অরোয়ের পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত অম্মোনীয়দের অর্ধেক দেশ;

26 the territory from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

এবং হিষ্‌বোন থেকে রামৎ-মিস্‌পী ও বটোনীম পর্যন্ত এবং মহনয়িম থেকে দবীরের এলাকা পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত অঞ্চল;

27 and in the valley, Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, with the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon (the territory on the east side of the Jordan up to the edge of the Sea of Chinnereth ).

এবং উপত্যকায়, বেথ-হারম, বেথ-নিম্রা, সুক্কোৎ ও সাফোন, ও সেই সঙ্গে হিষ্‌বোনের রাজা সীহোনের অবশিষ্ট সমস্ত অঞ্চল। (জর্ডনের পূর্বদিকে, গালীল সাগরের শেষ প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত অঞ্চল)

28 This was the inheritance of the clans of the Gadites, including the cities and villages.

এসব নগর ও সেগুলির সন্নিহিত গ্রামগুলি তাদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে গাদ বংশের অধিকার হল।

29 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh:

মনঃশির অর্ধেক বংশকে, অর্থাৎ, মনঃশির বংশধরদের অর্ধেক ভাগকে, তাদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে মোশি এই অধিকার দিলেন:

30 The territory from Mahanaim through all Bashan—all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, including all the towns of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities;

মহনয়িম ছাড়িয়ে এবং সমগ্র বাশন যুক্ত এলাকা, বাশনের রাজা ওগের সমগ্র এলাকা—বাশনে অবস্থিত যায়ীরের সমস্ত জনবসতি, ষাটটি নগর,

31 half of Gilead; and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. All this was for the clans of the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh, that is, half of the descendants of Machir.

গিলিয়দের অর্ধেক ভাগ এবং অষ্টারোৎ ও ইদ্রিয়ী। (বাশনে অবস্থিত ওগের রাজকীয় নগরগুলি) মনঃশির ছেলে মাখীরের বংশধরদের জন্য—তাদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে মাখীরের সন্তানদের অর্ধেক সংখ্যার জন্য এটি অধিকার হল।

32 These were the portions Moses had given them on the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan, east of Jericho.

মোশি যখন যিরীহোর পূর্বদিকে, জর্ডন নদীর পারে মোয়াবের সমভূমিতে ছিলেন, তখন তিনি এই উত্তরাধিকারটি দিয়েছিলেন।

33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, just as He had promised them.

কিন্তু লেবির বংশকে মোশি কোনও উত্তরাধিকার দেননি; ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুই তাদের অধিকার, যেভাবে তিনি তাদের কাছে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন।
