John 4
1 When Jesus realized that the Pharisees were aware He was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John
ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಯೇಸು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುವುದನ್ನು ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
2 (although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),
ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತಾವೇ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
3 He left Judea and returned to Galilee.
ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ತಿಳಿದಾಗ, ಯೇಸು ಯೂದಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
4 Now He had to pass through Samaria.
ಯೇಸು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು.
5 So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸುಖರೆಂಬ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಬಂದರು.
6 Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus, weary from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಬಾವಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಯಾಸಗೊಂಡವರಾಗಿ ಆ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
ಆಗ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವಳಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನೀರು ಸೇದುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಳು. ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು,” ಎಂದರು.
8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರು.
9 “You are a Jew,” said the woman. “How can You ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಾದ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರಿಗೂ ಒಡನಾಟ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
10 Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ವರವನ್ನೂ, ‘ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು,’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವ ನಾನು ಯಾರೆಂಬುದನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಜೀವಜಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
11 “Sir,” the woman replied, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water?
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ನೀರು ಸೇದುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ, ಬಾವಿಯೋ ಆಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಜಲವು ನಿನಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೀತು?
12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?”
ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಶುಗಳು ಈ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗಿಂತ ನೀನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನೋ?” ಎಂದಳು.
13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.
ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಪುನಃ ದಾಹವಾಗುವುದು.
15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ಆ ನೀರನ್ನೇ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು. ಆಗ ನನಗೆ ದಾಹವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನಾನು ನೀರು ಸೇದುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು.
16 Jesus told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”
ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದರು.
17 “I have no husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said to her, “You are correct to say that you have no husband.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ನನಗೆ ಗಂಡನಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನನಗೆ ಗಂಡನಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸರಿಯೇ.
18 In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
ನಿನಗೆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡಂದಿರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ನಿನಗಿರುವವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸರಿಯೇ,” ಎಂದರು.
19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I see that You are a prophet.
ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ನೀವು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews say that the place where one must worship is in Jerusalem.”
ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ, ‘ಆರಾಧಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಾದ ನೀವು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದಳು.
21 “Believe Me, woman,” Jesus replied, “a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಅಮ್ಮಾ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬು, ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ನೀವು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸದೆ ಇರುವ ಕಾಲ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.
ನೀವು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ. ನಾವು ಅರಿತಿರುವುದನ್ನೇ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಂದಲೇ.
23 But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.
ಆದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಆರಾಧಕರು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವ ಕಾಲ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ; ಅದು ಈಗಲೇ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ.
24 God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
ದೇವರು ಆತ್ಮರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರು ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಆರಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುವ ಮೆಸ್ಸೀಯ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಅವರು ಬಂದಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಸುವರು,” ಎಂದಳು.
26 Jesus answered, “I who speak to you am He.”
ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ನಾನೇ ಆತನು!” ಎಂದರು.
27 Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
ಅಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಬಂದು ಯೇಸು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಆದರೂ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನು ಬೇಕು? ಆಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಿರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
28 Then the woman left her water jar, went back into the town, and said to the people,
ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ನೀರಿನ ಕೊಡವನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ,
29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
“ಬನ್ನಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿರಿ, ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಇವರೇ ಆಗಿರಬಹುದು?” ಎಂದಳು.
30 So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.
ಆಗ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
31 Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು, “ಗುರುವೇ ಊಟಮಾಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು.
32 But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರುವ ಆಹಾರವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿದೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
33 So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”
ಶಿಷ್ಯರು, “ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೋ?” ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
34 Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯ ಚಿತ್ತವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದೇ ನನ್ನ ಆಹಾರ.
35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.
ನೀವು, ‘ಇನ್ನೂ ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಮತ್ತು ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
36 Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನು ಕೂಲಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತುವವನೂ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವರು. (aiōnios g166)
37 For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.
‘ಬಿತ್ತುವವನೊಬ್ಬನು, ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”
ನೀವು ಪ್ರಯಾಸ ಪಡದಂಥದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು. ಇತರರು ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಟ್ಟರು. ನೀವು ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯಾಸದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದೀರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
ಆಗ, “ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು” ಎಂದು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅನೇಕ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟರು.
40 So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.
ಆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೇಸು ಎರಡು ದಿವಸ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಉಳಿದರು.
41 And many more believed because of His message.
ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ನಂಬಿದರು.
42 They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”
ಜನರು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನಂಬುವುದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈತನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಲೋಕ ರಕ್ಷಕನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
43 After two days, Jesus left for Galilee.
ಎರಡು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.
44 Now He Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಯೇಸು ತಾವೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರು.
45 Yet when He arrived, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all the great things He had done in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had gone there as well.
ಯೇಸು ಗಲಿಲಾಯವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದಾಗ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
46 So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.
ಯೇಸು ತಾನು ನೀರನ್ನು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದ ಕಾನಾ ಊರಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು. ಆಗ ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ಮಗನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.
ಯೇಸು ಯೂದಾಯದಿಂದ ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೇಸು ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಪಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನ ಮಗನು ಸಾಯುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
48 Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”
ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದ್ಭುತಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದ ಹೊರತು ನಂಬುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರು.
49 “Sir,” the official said, “come down before my child dies.”
ಆಗ ಆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸಾಯುವ ಮೊದಲೇ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
50 “Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಬದುಕುವನು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೇಸು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
51 And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿ, ಅವನ ಮಗನು ಬದುಕಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
52 So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”
ಅವನು, “ಯಾವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗನು ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು?” ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನೆ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಜ್ವರವು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು,” ಎಂದು ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
53 Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.
ಹೀಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಬದುಕುವನು” ಎಂದು ಯೇಸು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಸಮಯದಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅದು ಆಯಿತೆಂದು ತಂದೆಯು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದರು.
54 This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
ಇದು ಯೇಸು ಯೂದಾಯದಿಂದ ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯ.
