John 12
1 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, the hometown of Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
นิสฺตาโรตฺสวาตฺ ปูรฺวฺวํ ทินษฏฺเก สฺถิเต ยีศุ รฺยํ ปฺรมีตมฺ อิลิยาสรํ ศฺมศานาทฺ อุทสฺถาปรตฺ ตสฺย นิวาสสฺถานํ ไพถนิยาคฺรามมฺ อาคจฺฉตฺฯ
2 So they hosted a dinner for Jesus there. Martha served, and Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with Him.
ตตฺร ตทรฺถํ รชนฺยำ โภเชฺย กฺฤเต มรฺถา ปรฺยฺยเวษยทฺ อิลิยาสรฺ จ ตสฺย สงฺคิภิ: สารฺทฺธํ โภชนาสน อุปาวิศตฺฯ
3 Then Mary took about a pint of expensive perfume, made of pure nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped them with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
ตทา มริยมฺ อรฺทฺธเสฏกํ พหุมูลฺยํ ชฏามำสียํ ไตลมฺ อานีย ยีโศศฺจรณโย รฺมรฺทฺทยิตฺวา นิชเกศ รฺมารฺษฺฏุมฺ อารภต; ตทา ไตลสฺย ปริมเลน คฺฤหมฺ อาโมทิตมฺ อภวตฺฯ
4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was going to betray Him, asked,
ย: ศิโมน: ปุตฺร ริษฺกริโยตีโย ยิหูทานามา ยีศุํ ปรกเรษุ สมรฺปยิษฺยติ ส ศิษฺยสฺตทา กถิตวานฺ,
5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor?”
เอตตฺไตลํ ตฺริภิ: ศไต รฺมุทฺราปไท รฺวิกฺรีตํ สทฺ ทริเทฺรภฺย: กุโต นาทียต?
6 Judas did not say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money bag, he used to take from what was put into it.
ส ทริทฺรโลการฺถมฺ อจินฺตยทฺ อิติ น, กินฺตุ ส เจาร เอวํ ตนฺนิกเฏ มุทฺราสมฺปุฏกสฺถิตฺยา ตนฺมเธฺย ยทติษฺฐตฺ ตทปาหรตฺ ตสฺมาตฺ การณาทฺ อิมำ กถามกถยตฺฯ
7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “She has kept this perfume in preparation for the day of My burial.
ตทา ยีศุรกถยทฺ เอนำ มา วารย สา มม ศฺมศานสฺถาปนทินารฺถํ ตทรกฺษยตฺฯ
8 The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have Me.”
ทริทฺรา ยุษฺมากํ สนฺนิเธา สรฺวฺวทา ติษฺฐนฺติ กินฺตฺวหํ สรฺวฺวทา ยุษฺมากํ สนฺนิเธา น ติษฺฐามิฯ
9 Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews learned that Jesus was there. And they came not only because of Him, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
ตต: ปรํ ยีศุสฺตตฺราสฺตีติ วารฺตฺตำ ศฺรุตฺวา พหโว ยิหูทียาสฺตํ ศฺมศานาทุตฺถาปิตมฺ อิลิยาสรญฺจ ทฺรษฺฏุํ ตตฺ สฺถานมฺ อาคจฺฉนฯ
10 So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well,
ตทา ปฺรธานยาชกาสฺตมฺ อิลิยาสรมปิ สํหรฺตฺตุมฺ อมนฺตฺรยนฺ;
11 for on account of him many of the Jews were deserting them and believing in Jesus.
ยตเสฺตน พหโว ยิหูทียา คตฺวา ยีเศา วฺยศฺวสนฺฯ
12 The next day the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
อนนฺตรํ ยีศุ รฺยิรูศาลมฺ นครมฺ อาคจฺฉตีติ วารฺตฺตำ ศฺรุตฺวา ปเร'หนิ อุตฺสวาคตา พหโว โลกา:
13 They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”
ขรฺชฺชูรปตฺราทฺยานีย ตํ สากฺษาตฺ กรฺตฺตุํ พหิราคตฺย ชย ชเยติ วาจํ โปฺรจฺไจ รฺวกฺตุมฺ อารภนฺต, อิสฺราเยโล โย ราชา ปรเมศฺวรสฺย นามฺนาคจฺฉติ ส ธนฺย: ฯ
14 Finding a young donkey, Jesus sat on it, as it is written:
ตทา "เห สิโยน: กเนฺย มา ไภษี: ปศฺยายํ ตว ราชา ครฺทฺทภศาวกมฺ อารุหฺยาคจฺฉติ"
15 “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. See, your King is coming, seated on the colt of a donkey.”
อิติ ศาสฺตฺรียวจนานุสาเรณ ยีศุเรกํ ยุวครฺทฺทภํ ปฺราปฺย ตทุปรฺยฺยาโรหตฺฯ
16 At first His disciples did not understand these things, but after Jesus was glorified they remembered what had been done to Him, and they realized that these very things had also been written about Him.
อสฺยา: ฆฏนายาสฺตาตฺปรฺยฺยํ ศิษฺยา: ปฺรถมํ นาพุธฺยนฺต, กินฺตุ ยีเศา มหิมานํ ปฺราปฺเต สติ วากฺยมิทํ ตสฺมิน อกถฺยต โลกาศฺจ ตมฺปฺรตีตฺถมฺ อกุรฺวฺวนฺ อิติ เต สฺมฺฤตวนฺต: ฯ
17 Meanwhile, many people continued to testify that they had been with Jesus when He called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead.
ส อิลิยาสรํ ศฺมศานาทฺ อาคนฺตุมฺ อาหฺวตวานฺ ศฺมศานาญฺจ อุทสฺถาปยทฺ เย เย โลกาสฺตตฺกรฺมฺย สากฺษาทฺ อปศฺยนฺ เต ปฺรมาณํ ทาตุมฺ อารภนฺตฯ
18 That is also why the crowd went out to meet Him, because they heard that He had performed this sign.
ส เอตาทฺฤศมฺ อทฺภุตํ กรฺมฺมกโรตฺ ตสฺย ชนศฺรุเต โรฺลกาสฺตํ สากฺษาตฺ กรฺตฺตุมฺ อาคจฺฉนฺฯ
19 Then the Pharisees said to one another, “You can see that this is doing you no good. Look how the whole world has gone after Him!”
ตต: ผิรูศิน: ปรสฺปรํ วกฺตุมฺ อารภนฺต ยุษฺมากํ สรฺวฺวาศฺเจษฺฏา วฺฤถา ชาตา: , อิติ กึ ยูยํ น พุธฺยเธฺว? ปศฺยต สรฺเวฺว โลกาสฺตสฺย ปศฺจาทฺวรฺตฺติโนภวนฺฯ
20 Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the feast.
ภชนํ กรฺตฺตุมฺ อุตฺสวาคตานำ โลกานำ กติปยา ชนา อนฺยเทศียา อาสนฺ,
21 They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
เต คาลีลียไพตฺไสทานิวาสิน: ผิลิปสฺย สมีปมฺ อาคตฺย วฺยาหรนฺ เห มเหจฺฉ วยํ ยีศุํ ทฺรษฺฏุมฺ อิจฺฉาม: ฯ
22 Philip relayed this appeal to Andrew, and both of them went and told Jesus.
ตต: ผิลิโป คตฺวา อานฺทฺริยมฺ อวทตฺ ปศฺจาทฺ อานฺทฺริยผิลิเปา ยีศเว วารฺตฺตามฺ อกถยตำฯ
23 But Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
ตทา ยีศุ: ปฺรตฺยุทิตวานฺ มานวสุตสฺย มหิมปฺราปฺติสมย อุปสฺถิต: ฯ
24 Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
อหํ ยุษฺมานติยถารฺถํ วทามิ, ธานฺยพีชํ มฺฤตฺติกายำ ปติตฺวา ยทิ น มฺฤยเต ตเรฺหฺยกากี ติษฺฐติ กินฺตุ ยทิ มฺฤยเต ตรฺหิ พหุคุณํ ผลํ ผลติฯ
25 Whoever loves his life will lose it, but whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
โย ชเน นิชปฺราณานฺ ปฺริยานฺ ชานาติ ส ตานฺ หารยิษฺยติ กินฺตุ เย ชน อิหโลเก นิชปฺราณานฺ อปฺริยานฺ ชานาติ เสนนฺตายุ: ปฺราปฺตุํ ตานฺ รกฺษิษฺยติฯ (aiōnios g166)
26 If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
กศฺจิทฺ ยทิ มม เสวโก ภวิตุํ วาญฺฉติ ตรฺหิ ส มม ปศฺจาทฺคามี ภวตุ, ตสฺมาทฺ อหํ ยตฺร ติษฺฐามิ มม เสวเกปิ ตตฺร สฺถาสฺยติ; โย ชโน มำ เสวเต มม ปิตาปิ ตํ สมฺมํสฺยเตฯ
27 Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? No, it is for this purpose that I have come to this hour.
สามฺปฺรตํ มม ปฺราณา วฺยากุลา ภวนฺติ, ตสฺมาทฺ เห ปิตร เอตสฺมาตฺ สมยานฺ มำ รกฺษ, อิตฺยหํ กึ ปฺรารฺถยิเษฺย? กินฺตฺวหมฺ เอตตฺสมยารฺถมฺ อวตีรฺณวานฺฯ
28 Father, glorify Your name!” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
เห ปิต: สฺวนามฺโน มหิมานํ ปฺรกาศย; ตไนว สฺวนามฺโน มหิมานมฺ อหํ ปฺรากาศยํ ปุนรปิ ปฺรกาศยิษฺยามิ, เอษา คคณียา วาณี ตสฺมินฺ สมเย'ชายตฯ
29 The crowd standing there heard it and said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to Him.
ตจฺศฺรุตฺวา สมีปสฺถโลกานำ เกจิทฺ อวทนฺ เมโฆ'ครฺชีตฺ, เกจิทฺ อวทนฺ สฺวรฺคียทูโต'เนน สห กถามจกถตฺฯ
30 In response, Jesus said, “This voice was not for My benefit, but yours.
ตทา ยีศุ: ปฺรตฺยวาทีตฺ, มทรฺถํ ศพฺโทยํ นาภูตฺ ยุษฺมทรฺถเมวาภูตฺฯ
31 Now judgment is upon this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out.
อธุนา ชคโตสฺย วิจาร: สมฺปตฺสฺยเต, อธุนาสฺย ชคต: ปตี ราชฺยาตฺ โจฺยษฺยติฯ
32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to Myself.”
ยทฺยอี ปฺฤถิวฺยา อูรฺทฺเวฺว โปฺรตฺถาปิโตสฺมิ ตรฺหิ สรฺวฺวานฺ มานวานฺ สฺวสมีปมฺ อากรฺษิษฺยามิฯ
33 He said this to indicate the kind of death He was going to die.
กถํ ตสฺย มฺฤติ รฺภวิษฺยติ, เอตทฺ โพธยิตุํ ส อิมำ กถามฺ อกถยตฺฯ
34 The crowd replied, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain forever. So how can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” (aiōn g165)
ตทา โลกา อกถยนฺ โสภิษิกฺต: สรฺวฺวทา ติษฺฐตีติ วฺยวสฺถาคฺรนฺเถ ศฺรุตมฺ อสฺมาภิ: , ตรฺหิ มนุษฺยปุตฺร: โปฺรตฺถาปิโต ภวิษฺยตีติ วากฺยํ กถํ วทสิ? มนุษฺยปุโตฺรยํ ก: ? (aiōn g165)
35 Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.
ตทา ยีศุรกถายทฺ ยุษฺมาภิ: สารฺทฺธมฺ อลฺปทินานิ โชฺยติราเสฺต, ยถา ยุษฺมานฺ อนฺธกาโร นาจฺฉาทยติ ตทรฺถํ ยาวตฺกาลํ ยุษฺมาภิ: สารฺทฺธํ โชฺยติสฺติษฺฐติ ตาวตฺกาลํ คจฺฉต; โย ชโน'นฺธกาเร คจฺฉติ ส กุตฺร ยาตีติ น ชานาติฯ
36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of light.” After Jesus had spoken these things, He went away and was hidden from them.
อเตอว ยาวตฺกาลํ ยุษฺมากํ นิกเฏ โชฺยติราเสฺต ตาวตฺกาลํ โชฺยตีรูปสนฺตานา ภวิตุํ โชฺยติษิ วิศฺวสิต; อิมำ กถำ กถยิตฺวา ยีศุ: ปฺรสฺถาย เตภฺย: สฺวํ คุปฺตวานฺฯ
37 Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him.
ยทฺยปิ ยีศุเสฺตษำ สมกฺษมฺ เอตาวทาศฺจรฺยฺยกรฺมฺมาณิ กฺฤตวานฺ ตถาปิ เต ตสฺมินฺ น วฺยศฺวสนฺฯ
38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
อเตอว ก: ปฺรเตฺยติ สุสํวาทํ ปเรศาสฺมตฺ ปฺรจาริตํ? ปฺรกาศเต ปเรศสฺย หสฺต: กสฺย จ สนฺนิเธา? ยิศยิยภวิษฺยทฺวาทินา ยเทตทฺ วากฺยมุกฺตํ ตตฺ สผลมฺ อภวตฺฯ
39 For this reason they were unable to believe. For again, Isaiah says:
เต ปฺรเตฺยตุํ นาศนฺกุวนฺ ตสฺมินฺ ยิศยิยภวิษฺยทฺวาทิ ปุนรวาทีทฺ,
40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.”
ยทา, "เต นยไน รฺน ปศฺยนฺติ พุทฺธิภิศฺจ น พุธฺยนฺเต ไต รฺมน: สุ ปริวรฺตฺติเตษุ จ ตานหํ ยถา สฺวสฺถานฺ น กโรมิ ตถา ส เตษำ โลจนานฺยนฺธานิ กฺฤตฺวา เตษามนฺต: กรณานิ คาฒานิ กริษฺยติฯ "
41 Isaiah said these things because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.
ยิศยิโย ยทา ยีโศ รฺมหิมานํ วิโลกฺย ตสฺมินฺ กถามกถยตฺ ตทา ภวิษฺยทฺวากฺยมฺ อีทฺฤศํ ปฺรกาศยตฺฯ
42 Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue.
ตถาปฺยธิปตินำ พหวสฺตสฺมินฺ ปฺรตฺยายนฺฯ กินฺตุ ผิรูศินสฺตานฺ ภชนคฺฤหาทฺ ทูรีกุรฺวฺวนฺตีติ ภยาตฺ เต ตํ น สฺวีกฺฤตวนฺต: ฯ
43 For they loved praise from men more than praise from God.
ยต อีศฺวรสฺย ปฺรศํสาโต มานวานำ ปฺรศํสายำ เต'ปฺริยนฺตฯ
44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me.
ตทา ยีศุรุจฺไจ: การมฺ อกถยทฺ โย ชโน มยิ วิศฺวสิติ ส เกวเล มยิ วิศฺวสิตีติ น, ส มตฺเปฺรรเก'ปิ วิศฺวสิติฯ
45 And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me.
โย ชโน มำ ปศฺยติ ส มตฺเปฺรรกมปิ ปศฺยติฯ
46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.
โย ชโน มำ ปฺรเตฺยติ ส ยถานฺธกาเร น ติษฺฐติ ตทรฺถมฺ อหํ โชฺยติ: สฺวรูโป ภูตฺวา ชคตฺยสฺมินฺ อวตีรฺณวานฺฯ
47 As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
มม กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา ยทิ กศฺจินฺ น วิศฺวสิติ ตรฺหิ ตมหํ โทษิณํ น กโรมิ, ยโต เหโต รฺชคโต ชนานำ โทษานฺ นิศฺจิตานฺ กรฺตฺตุํ นาคตฺย ตานฺ ปริจาตุมฺ อาคโตสฺมิฯ
48 There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.
ย: กศฺจินฺ มำ น ศฺรทฺธาย มม กถํ น คฺฤหฺลาติ, อนฺยสฺตํ โทษิณํ กริษฺยติ วสฺตุตสฺตุ ยำ กถามหมฺ อจกถํ สา กถา จรเม'นฺหิ ตํ โทษิณํ กริษฺยติฯ
49 I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it.
ยโต เหโตรหํ สฺวต: กิมปิ น กถยามิ, กึ กึ มยา กถยิตวฺยํ กึ สมุปเทษฺฏวฺยญฺจ อิติ มตฺเปฺรรยิตา ปิตา มามาชฺญาปยตฺฯ
