Job 8
1 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
૧ત્યારે બિલ્દાદ શૂહીએ જવાબ આપ્યો અને કહ્યું કે,
2 “How long will you go on saying such things? The words of your mouth are a blustering wind.
૨“તું ક્યાં સુધી આવી વાતો કરીશ? તારા તોફાની શબ્દો ક્યાં સુધી વંટોળિયાની જેમ તારા મુખમાંથી નીકળ્યા કરશે?
3 Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?
૩શું ઈશ્વર અન્યાય કરે છે? સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વર ઈન્સાફ ઊંધો વાળે છે?
4 When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.
૪જો તારા સંતાનોએ તેમની વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કર્યું હશે, તો ઈશ્વરે તેમને તેમના પાપનું ફળ આપ્યું છે.
5 But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy,
૫જો તું ખંતથી ઈશ્વરની શોધ કરશે, અને સર્વશક્તિમાનની યાચના કરશે,
6 if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.
૬અને તું જો પવિત્ર અને પ્રામાણિક હોત; તો નિશ્ચે તે હમણાં તારે સારુ જાગૃત થઈને, તારાં ધાર્મિક ઘરને આબાદ કરત.
7 Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish.
૭જો કે તારી શરૂઆત નહિ જેવી હતી. તોપણ આખરે તે તને બહુ સફળ કરત.
8 Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers.
૮કૃપા કરીને તું અગાઉની પેઢીઓને પૂછી જો; આપણા પિતૃઓએ શોધી નાખ્યું તે જાણી લે.
9 For we were born yesterday and know nothing; our days on earth are but a shadow.
૯આપણે તો આજકાલના છીએ અને કંઈ જ જાણતા નથી. પૃથ્વી પરનું આપણું જીવન પડછાયા જેવું છે.
10 Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding?
૧૦શું તેઓ તને નહિ શીખવે? અને કંઈ નહિ કહે? તેઓ પોતાના ડહાપણના શબ્દો તને નહિ કહે?
11 Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Do reeds flourish without water?
૧૧શું કાદવ વિના છોડ ઊગે? કે, જળ વિના બરુ ઊગે?
12 While the shoots are still uncut, they dry up quicker than grass.
૧૨હજી તો તે લીલાં હોય છે. અને કપાયેલાં હોતાં નથી. એટલામાં બીજી કોઈ વનસ્પતિ અગાઉ તે સુકાઈ જાય છે.
13 Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so the hope of the godless will perish.
૧૩ઈશ્વરને ભૂલી જનાર સર્વના એવા જ હાલ થાય છે અને અધર્મીની આશા એમ જ નાશ પામશે.
14 His confidence is fragile; his security is in a spider’s web.
૧૪તેની આશા ભંગ થઈ જશે. તેનો ભરોસો કરોળિયાની જાળ જેવો નાજુક છે.
15 He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure.
૧૫તે પોતાના ઘર પર આધાર રાખશે, પણ તે ઊભું નહિ રહેશે. તે તેને મજબૂતાઈથી પકડી રાખશે પણ તે ટકશે નહિ.
16 He is a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden.
૧૬સૂર્યના પ્રકાશથી તે લીલો હોય છે. તેની ડાળીઓ ફૂટીને આખા બગીચામાં ફેલાય છે.
17 His roots wrap around the rock heap; he looks for a home among the stones.
૧૭તેનાં મૂળ ઝરાની પાસે પથ્થરોને વીંટળાયેલાં હોય છે; તેઓ પર્વતો પર સારી જગ્યાઓ શોધે છે.
18 If he is uprooted from his place, it will disown him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’
૧૮જો તે નાશ પામે તો તેની જગા તેનો નકાર કરશે કે, ‘મેં તને જોયો જ નથી.’
19 Surely this is the joy of his way; yet others will spring from the dust.
૧૯જુઓ, આ તો તેના માર્ગની ખૂબી છે; અને જમીનમાંથી અન્ય ઊગી નીકળશે.
20 Behold, God does not reject the blameless, nor will He strengthen the hand of evildoers.
૨૦ઈશ્વર નિર્દોષ માણસનો ત્યાગ કરશે નહિ, અને દુષ્કર્મીઓનો તે નિભાવ કરશે નહિ.
21 He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with a shout of joy.
૨૧હજી પણ તેઓ તારા ચહેરાને હાસ્યથી ભરશે. અને તારા હોઠોને આનંદના પોકારોથી ભરી દેશે.
22 Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
૨૨તારા દુશ્મનો શરમથી છુપાઈ જશે અને દુર્જનોનો તંબુ નાશ પામશે.”
