Job 6
1 Then Job replied:
૧પછી અયૂબે જવાબ આપ્યો અને કહ્યું કે,
2 “If only my grief could be weighed and placed with my calamity on the scales.
૨“અરે, મારી વિપત્તિઓનો તોલ થાય, અને મારું સંકટ એકત્ર કરીને ત્રાજવે તોલી શકાય તો કેવું સારું!
3 For then it would outweigh the sand of the seas— no wonder my words have been rash.
૩કેમ કે ત્યારે તો તે સમુદ્રોની રેતી કરતાં પણ ભારે થાય. તેથી મારું બોલવું અવિચારી હતું.
4 For the arrows of the Almighty have pierced me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.
૪કેમ કે સર્વશક્તિમાનનાં બાણ મારા હૃદયમાં વાગે છે, અને તેમનું વિષ મારો આત્મા ચૂસી લે છે; ઈશ્વરનો ત્રાસ મારી સામે લડવા ઊભો છે.
5 Does a wild donkey bray over fresh grass, or an ox low over its fodder?
૫શું જંગલી ગધેડાની આગળ ઘાસ હોય તો તે ભૂંકે? અથવા બળદની આગળ ઘાસ હોય છતાં શું તે બરાડા પાડે?
6 Is tasteless food eaten without salt, or is there flavor in the white of an egg?
૬શું ફિક્કી વસ્તુ મીઠા વગર ખવાય? અથવા શું ઈંડાની સફેદીમાં કંઈ સ્વાદ હોય?
7 My soul refuses to touch them; they are loathsome food to me.
૭હું તેને અડકવા માગતો નથી; તે મને કંટાળાજનક અન્ન જેવાં લાગે છે.
8 If only my request were granted and God would fulfill my hope:
૮અરે, જો મારી વિનંતી સફળ થાય; અને જેની હું આશા રાખું છું તે જો ઈશ્વર મને બક્ષે!
9 that God would be willing to crush me, to unleash His hand and cut me off!
૯એટલે ઈશ્વર કૃપા કરીને મને કચરી નાખે, અને પોતાના છૂટા હાથથી મને મારી નાખે તો કેવું સારું!
10 It still brings me comfort, and joy through unrelenting pain, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
૧૦તેથી હજીયે મને દિલાસો થાય. હા, અસહ્ય દુ: ખ હોવા છતાં હું આનંદ માનું, કેમ કે મેં પવિત્ર ઈશ્વરનાં વચનોની અવગણના કરી નથી.
11 What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What is my future, that I should be patient?
૧૧મારું બળ શું છે કે હું સહન કરું? અને મારો અંત કેવો આવવાનો છે કે હવે હું ધીરજ રાખું?
12 Is my strength like that of stone, or my flesh made of bronze?
૧૨શું મારી મજબૂતી પથ્થરોની મજબૂતી જેવી છે? શું મારું શરીર પિત્તળનું છે?
13 Is there any help within me now that success is driven from me?
૧૩શું તે સાચું નથી કે હું મારી જાતને મદદ કરી શકતો નથી, શું બુદ્ધિથી કામ કરવાની શક્તિનો મારામાં લોપ થયો નથી?
14 A despairing man should have the kindness of his friend, even if he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
૧૪નિરાશ થયેલા માણસ પર તેના મિત્રએ કરુણા રાખવી જોઈએ; રખેને તે સર્વશક્તિમાનનો ભય ત્યજી દે.
15 But my brothers are as faithless as wadis, as seasonal streams that overflow,
૧૫પણ મારા ભાઈઓ નાળાંની માફક ઠગાઈથી વર્ત્યા છે. એટલે લોપ થઈ જતાં ઝરણાં કે,
16 darkened because of the ice and the inflow of melting snow,
૧૬જેઓ બરફના કારણે કાળાં દેખાય છે. અને જેઓમાં હિમ ઢંકાયેલું હોય છે.
17 but ceasing in the dry season and vanishing from their channels in the heat.
૧૭તેઓ ગરમીમાં અદ્રશ્ય થઈ જાય છે; અને તાપ પડતાં તેઓ પોતાની જગ્યાએથી નાશ પામે છે.
18 Caravans turn aside from their routes; they go into the wasteland and perish.
૧૮તેઓની પાસે કાફલા જાય છે અને તેઓ અરણ્યમાં દાખલ થઈને નાશ પામે છે.
19 The caravans of Tema look for water; the travelers of Sheba hope to find it.
૧૯તેમા ના કાફલા પાણીને ઝંખી રહ્યા હતા, શેબાના સંઘે તેઓની રાહ જોઈ.
20 They are confounded because they had hoped; their arrival brings disappointment.
૨૦પણ આશા નિષ્ફળ જવાથી તેઓ લજ્જિત થયા. પરંતુ ત્યાં પહોંચ્યા ત્યારે તેઓ નિરાશ થયા હતા.
21 For now you are of no help; you see terror, and you are afraid.
૨૧કેમ કે હવે તમે એવા જ છો; મારી ભયંકર દશા જોઈને તમે બીહો છો.
22 Have I ever said, ‘Give me something; offer me a bribe from your wealth;
૨૨શું મેં તમને કહ્યું કે, મને કંઈ આપો?’ અથવા તમારી દ્રવ્યમાંથી મારે સારુ ખર્ચ કરો?’
23 deliver me from the hand of the enemy; redeem me from the grasp of the ruthless’?
૨૩અથવા, ‘મને મારા શત્રુઓના હાથમાંથી ઉગારો?’ કે, ‘જુલમીના હાથમાંથી મને છોડાવો?’
24 Teach me, and I will be silent. Help me understand how I have erred.
૨૪મને સમજાવો એટલે હું ચૂપ રહીશ; અને મેં કરેલી ભૂલ મને બતાવો.
25 How painful are honest words! But what does your argument prove?
૨૫સત્ય વચન કેવાં અસરકારક હોય છે! પણ તમે જે ઠપકો આપો છો તે શાનો ઠપકો?
26 Do you intend to correct my words, and treat as wind my cry of despair?
૨૬પણ હતાશ માણસનાં શબ્દો પવન જેવા હોય છે. તેમ છતાં કે તમે શબ્દોને કારણે ઠપકો આપવાનું ધારો છો?
27 You would even cast lots for an orphan and barter away your friend.
૨૭હા, તમે તો અનાથો પર ચિઠ્ઠીઓ નાખો છો, તથા તમારા મિત્રોનો વેપાર કરો એવા છો.
28 But now, please look at me. Would I lie to your face?
૨૮તો હવે, કૃપા કરીને મારી સામે જુઓ, કેમ કે તમારી સમક્ષ તો હું જૂઠું બોલીશ નહિ.
29 Reconsider; do not be unjust. Reconsider, for my righteousness is at stake.
૨૯તો હવે કૃપા કરીને પાછા ફરો; કંઈ અન્યાય થવો ન જોઈએ; હા, પાછા ફરો, મારી દલીલ વાજબી છે.
30 Is there iniquity on my tongue? Can my mouth not discern malice?
૩૦શું મારી જીભમાં અન્યાય છે? શું હાનિકારક વસ્તુઓને પારખવાની શક્તિ મારામાં રહી નથી?”
