Job 5
1 “Call out if you please, but who will answer? To which of the holy ones will you turn?

2 For resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.
Mañe-doza ami’ty minè ty hasosora’e, zevoñe’ i famarahia’ey ty derendereñe.
3 I have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly his house was cursed.
Fa nitreako te nivahatse ty dagola, fe nozoñeko amy zao ty akiba’e.
4 His sons are far from safety, crushed in court without a defender.
Lavi-pipalirañe o tiri’eo, demoheñe an-dalambey ey, vaho tsy eo ty mpandrombake.
5 The hungry consume his harvest, taking it even from the thorns, and the thirsty pant after his wealth.
Kamae’ o salikoeñeo ty nitatahe’e, tsindrohe’ iereo boak’am-patik’ao; midañadaña amo vara’eo ty kòboñe
6 For distress does not spring from the dust, and trouble does not sprout from the ground.
Tsy miboak’ an-debok’ ao ty hasotriañe, naho tsy mitiry an-tane ao ty hankàñe;
7 Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.
Fe ampoheke t’indaty te samake manahake ty fionjona’ ty fipitsin’afo.
8 However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and lay my cause before Him—
Izaho ho nipay an’Andrianañahare vaho i Andrianamboatse ty nitaroñako o entakoo—
9 the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number.

10 He gives rain to the earth and sends water upon the fields.

11 He sets the lowly on high, so that mourners are lifted to safety.

12 He thwarts the schemes of the crafty, so that their hands find no success.
Avorembore’e ty kilili’ o kalitakeo, soa tsy hahapi-draha o taña’eo.
13 He catches the wise in their craftiness, and sweeps away the plans of the cunning.
Tsepahe’e ami’ty fikitrofa’e o kanteo, vaho misaok’ añe ty fikinià’o mengokeo.
14 They encounter darkness by day and grope at noon as in the night.
Ie manjo ieñe te antoandro, mijimenjimè hoe an-kaleñe te tsipinde-mena.
15 He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth and from the clutches of the powerful.
Fe rombahe’e am-pibara am-bava’iareo, ty rarake am-pità’ o maozatseo.
16 So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.
Aa le aman-ko tamae’e o rarakeo, fe mampikite-bava ty haratiañe.
17 Blessed indeed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
Haha t’indaty endahan’ Añahare; le ko tsambolitio’o ty fandilova’ i El-Sadai.
18 For He wounds, but He also binds; He strikes, but His hands also heal.
Ie mandafa, le bandie’e; mitrabake, le melañe’ o fità’eo.
19 He will rescue you from six calamities; no harm will touch you in seven.
Ho haha’e irehe am-peh’ohatse eneñe; Eka, im-pito tsy hipaok’ azo ty hankàñe.
20 In famine He will redeem you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.
Ho jebañe’e ami’ty havilasy irehe an-tsan-kerè, naho ami’ty haozara’ i fibaray an-tsàn’aly.
21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and will not fear havoc when it comes.
Harovan-drehe ami’ty fifiaham-pameleke, f’ie tsy ho hembañe te itsatohan-kekoheko.
22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the beasts of the earth.
Hiankahafa’o ty hankàñe naho ty kerè, le tsy hatahora’o ze bibi’ ty tane toy.
23 For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
Ie hirai-lia amo vato an-tetekeo vaho hiharo-rehak’ ama’o o biby an-kivokeo.
24 You will know that your tent is secure, and find nothing amiss when inspecting your home.
Ho rendre’o te mierañerañe ty akiba’o, ho tilihe’o ty golobo’o le tsy ho motso ze ama’e ao.
25 You will know that your offspring will be many, your descendants like the grass of the earth.
Ho fohi’o te maro o ana’oo, ho mira ami’ty hatsifotofoto’ o ahetse an-tane atoio o tarira’oo.
26 You will come to the grave in full vigor, like a sheaf of grain gathered in season.
Homb’an-kibori’o ao irehe ami’ty haañon-kaantera’o, manahake ty fitroara’ o toboron’ ampembao an-tsa’e.
27 Indeed, we have investigated, and it is true! So hear it and know for yourself.”
