< Job 41 >

1 “Can you pull in Leviathan with a hook or tie down his tongue with a rope?
Eske ou ka pran levyatan an nan zen? Eske ou ka mare lang li ak yon kòd?
2 Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook?
Eske ou ka pase yon bwa wozo nan nen l'? Eske ou ka pèse machwè l' ak yon gwo zen?
3 Will he beg you for mercy or speak to you softly?
Eske li pral mande ou: Tanpri souple, kite m' ale? Eske l'ap pale dous avè ou?
4 Will he make a covenant with you to take him as a slave for life?
Eske l'ap pase kontra avè ou pou l' sèvi ou pou tout tan?
5 Can you pet him like a bird or put him on a leash for your maidens?
Eske ou ka mare l' tankou yon ti zwezo pou pitit fi ou yo ka jwe avè l'?
6 Will traders barter for him or divide him among the merchants?
Eske moun k'ap fè lapèch yo pral fè lajan avè l'? Eske machann yo pral koupe l' an moso pou yo vann?
7 Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears?
Eske ou ka pike tout po kò l' ak fwenn? Eske ou ka pèse tèt li ak yon fwenn?
8 If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the battle and never repeat it!
Seye mete men ou sou li yon grenn fwa, ou p'ap janm fè sa ankò, lè w'a chonje sa l'a fè ou!
9 Surely hope of overcoming him is false. Is not the sight of him overwhelming?
Depi ou wè levyatan an, ou pèdi tout kouraj ou. Ou annik wè l', ou tonbe atè.
10 No one is so fierce as to rouse Leviathan. Then who is able to stand against Me?
Si yo leve l' nan dòmi, li move. Pa gen moun ki ka kanpe devan l'.
11 Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.
Ki moun ki ka atake l' san anyen pa rive l'? Pa gen moun sou latè ki ka fè sa.
12 I cannot keep silent about his limbs, his power and graceful form.
Mwen pa bezwen di ou anyen sou pa t' janm li yo. Men, m'a fè ou konnen pa gen bèt ki gen fòs pase l'.
13 Who can strip off his outer coat? Who can approach him with a bridle?
Pesonn pa janm rive dechire premye po li. Ni pesonn pa janm rive pèse karapas li.
14 Who can open his jaws, ringed by his fearsome teeth?
Ki moun ki janm fòse l' louvri bouch li? Dan nan bouch li, se bagay ki pou fè moun kouri.
15 His rows of scales are his pride, tightly sealed together.
Tout do l', se yon seri gwo kal mare yonn ak lòt. Yo di kou wòch.
16 One scale is so near to another that no air can pass between them.
Yo kole yonn ak lòt, yo fè yon sèl. Pa gen yon ti fant nan mitan yo pou lè pase.
17 They are joined to one another; they clasp and cannot be separated.
Yo sitèlman byen kole yonn ak lòt anyen pa ka separe yo.
18 His snorting flashes with light, and his eyes are like the rays of dawn.
Lè l' estènen, limyè fè yan-yan. Je l' klere tankou solèy lè l'ap leve.
19 Firebrands stream from his mouth; fiery sparks shoot forth!
Flanm dife ap soti nan bouch li. Tensèl dife ap vole soti ladan l'.
20 Smoke billows from his nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning reeds.
Lafimen ap soti nan tout twou nen l' tankou nan yon chodyè k'ap bouyi sou dife.
21 His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames pour from his mouth.
Souf li ta ka limen bwa dife. Flanm dife ap soti nan bouch li.
22 Strength resides in his neck, and dismay leaps before him.
Se nan kou li tout fòs li ye. Depi moun wè l', kè yo kase.
23 The folds of his flesh are tightly joined; they are firm and immovable.
Po li fè kal kal sou tout kò li. Yo kole yonn ak lòt. Yo di kou wòch.
24 His chest is as hard as a rock, as hard as a lower millstone!
Kè li di kou wòch, li pa pè anyen. Li fèm kou wòl moulen.
25 When Leviathan rises up, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw before his thrashing.
Lè li leve kanpe, ata gwonèg yo pè. Yo kouri san gad dèyè.
26 The sword that reaches him has no effect, nor does the spear or dart or arrow.
Pa gen nepe ki ka blese l'. Ni fwenn, ni lans, ni flèch pa ka fè l' anyen.
27 He regards iron as straw and bronze as rotten wood.
Pou li, nenpòt bout fè lejè kou pay, nenpòt bout asye mou tankou bannann mi.
28 No arrow can make him flee; slingstones become like chaff to him.
Pa gen kout flèch ki pou fè l' kouri. Wòch fistibal, se boul koton pou li.
29 A club is regarded as straw, and he laughs at the sound of the lance.
Yon baton fè se yon bwa mayi pou li. Li ri lè yo voye lans sou li.
30 His undersides are jagged potsherds, spreading out the mud like a threshing sledge.
Anba vant li graj graj tankou moso kannari kraze. Kote li pase nan labou a, li make l' tankou machin k'ap kraze boul tè nan jaden.
31 He makes the depths seethe like a cauldron; he makes the sea like a jar of ointment.
Lè l' plonje, li boulvèse fon lanmè a, se tankou dlo nan chodyè k'ap bouyi sou dife. Li fè l' bouyi tankou dlo nan veso y'ap boule odè.
32 He leaves a glistening wake behind him; one would think the deep had white hair!
Lè l'ap naje, li kite nan dlo a yon chemen ki klere nan solèy la. Li fè tout lanmè a kimen.
33 Nothing on earth is his equal— a creature devoid of fear!
Pa gen bèt tankou l' sou latè. Bondye kreye l' pou l' pa janm pè anyen.
34 He looks down on all the haughty; he is king over all the proud.”
Li gade bèt ki pi fewòs yo nan je. Se li ki wa tout bèt sovaj yo.
