1 “Can you pull in Leviathan with a hook or tie down his tongue with a rope?
১তুমি কি লিবিয়াথনকে বঁড়শিতে তুলতে পার? অথবা তার চোয়াল দড়ি দিয়ে বাঁধতে পার?
2 Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook?
২তুমি তার নাকে দড়ি পরাতে পার, অথবা তার চোয়াল বঁড়শি দিয়ে ফুঁড়তে পার?
3 Will he beg you for mercy or speak to you softly?
৩সে কি তোমার কাছে অনেক মিনতি করবে? সে কি তোমার কাছে মিষ্টি কথা বলবে?
4 Will he make a covenant with you to take him as a slave for life?
৪সে কি তোমার সঙ্গে নিয়ম করবে, যাতে তুমি তাকে চিরকালের জন্য তোমার দাস করে নাও?
5 Can you pet him like a bird or put him on a leash for your maidens?
৫যেমন তুমি পাখিদের সঙ্গে খেলেছ, তেমনি কি তুমি তার সঙ্গে খেলবে? তুমি কি তাকে তোমার দাসের মেয়ের জন্য বাঁধবে?
6 Will traders barter for him or divide him among the merchants?
৬মাছ ধরার দল কি তার জন্য তোমার সঙ্গে দরাদরি করবে? তারা কি তাকে ব্যবসায়ীদের মধ্যে ভাগ করে দেবে?
7 Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears?
৭তুমি কি তার চামড়া লোহার ফলায় বিঁধতে পার অথবা তার মাথা মাছ ধরা বর্শায় বিঁধতে পার?
8 If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the battle and never repeat it!
৮একবার তোমার হাত তার ওপর রাখ এবং তোমার যুদ্ধের কথা মনে পরে যাবে এবং আর সেরকম কর না।
9 Surely hope of overcoming him is false. Is not the sight of him overwhelming?
৯দেখ, তাকে ধরার আশা হল মিথ্যা; তাকে দেখামাত্র লোকেরা কি মাটিতে পড়ে যায় না?
10 No one is so fierce as to rouse Leviathan. Then who is able to stand against Me?
১০কেউ এমন সাহসী নেই যে সাহস করে লিবিয়াথনকে ওঠাবে; তবে কে, কে আমার সামনে দাঁড়াবে?
11 Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.
১১কে আমাকে প্রথমে কিছু দিয়েছে, যাতে আমি তার উপকার করব? আকাশের নিচে যা কিছু আছে সবই আমার।
12 I cannot keep silent about his limbs, his power and graceful form.
১২আমি লিবিয়াথনের পায়ের বিষয়ে চুপ করে থাকব না, না তার শক্তির বিষয়ে, না তার সুন্দর গঠনের বিষয়ে চুপ করে থাকব।
13 Who can strip off his outer coat? Who can approach him with a bridle?
১৩কে তার বাইরের পোশাক খুলে নিতে পারে? কে তার জোড়া বর্মের মধ্যে দিয়ে যেতে পারে?
14 Who can open his jaws, ringed by his fearsome teeth?
১৪তার মুখের দরজা কে খুলতে পারে তার দাঁতের চারিদিকে আতঙ্ক?
15 His rows of scales are his pride, tightly sealed together.
১৫তার পিছন ঢালের সারি দিয়ে তৈরী করা হয়েছে, একটা সিলমোহরের মত একসঙ্গে বন্ধ।
16 One scale is so near to another that no air can pass between them.
১৬একটা আরেকটার এত কাছে যে তাদের মধ্যে দিয়ে হওয়াও যেতে পারে না।
17 They are joined to one another; they clasp and cannot be separated.
১৭তারা একে অপরের সঙ্গে যুক্ত; তারা একসঙ্গে যুক্ত, যাতে তাদের আলাদা করা না যায়।
18 His snorting flashes with light, and his eyes are like the rays of dawn.
১৮তার হাঁচিতে আলো বেরিয়ে আসে; তার চোখ ভোরের সূর্য্যের চোখের পাতার মত।
19 Firebrands stream from his mouth; fiery sparks shoot forth!
১৯তার মুখ থেকে জ্বলন্ত মশাল বের হয়, আগুনের ফুলকি লাফিয়ে ওঠে।
20 Smoke billows from his nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning reeds.
২০তার নাকের ফুটো দিয়ে ধোঁয়া বের হয়, যেন আগুনের ওপরে ফুটন্ত জলের পাত্র রাখা যা হওয়া দেওয়া হয়েছে খুব গরম করার জন্য।
21 His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames pour from his mouth.
২১তার নিঃশ্বাসে কয়লা জ্বলে ওঠে; তার মুখ থেকে আগুন বের হয়।
22 Strength resides in his neck, and dismay leaps before him.
২২তার ঘাড়েই শক্তি এবং তার সামনে আতঙ্ক নাচে।
23 The folds of his flesh are tightly joined; they are firm and immovable.
২৩তার মাংসের ভাঁজ একসঙ্গে যুক্ত; তারা তার ওপর অনড়; তারা সরতে পারে না।
24 His chest is as hard as a rock, as hard as a lower millstone!
২৪তার হৃদয় পাথরের মত শক্ত (সে ভয়শূন্য) সত্যি, জাঁতার নিচের পাথরের মত শক্ত।
25 When Leviathan rises up, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw before his thrashing.
২৫যখন সে নিজেকে ওঠায়, এমনকি দেবতারা ভয় পায়; ভয়ের জন্য, তারা পিছিয়ে যায়।
26 The sword that reaches him has no effect, nor does the spear or dart or arrow.
২৬যদি তলোয়ার তাকে আঘাত করে, তাতে তার কিছু হয় না এবং না বর্শা কিছু করতে পারে, না তীর অথবা না অন্য কোন সুচালো অস্ত্র কিছু করতে পারে।
27 He regards iron as straw and bronze as rotten wood.
২৭সে লোহাকে খড়ের মত মনে করে এবং পিতলকে পচা কাঠের মত মনে করে।
28 No arrow can make him flee; slingstones become like chaff to him.
২৮তীর তাকে তাড়াতে পারে না; তার কাছে গুলতির পাথর তুষের মত হয়ে যায়।
29 A club is regarded as straw, and he laughs at the sound of the lance.
২৯সে গদাকে খড়ের মত মনে করে; বর্শা উড়ে আসার শব্দে সে হাঁসে।
30 His undersides are jagged potsherds, spreading out the mud like a threshing sledge.
৩০তার নিচের অংশটা মাটির খোলার মত ধারাল; সে কাদার ওপরে ধারালো কাঁটার মত জিনিস ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছে যেন সে নিজে হাতুড়ি।
31 He makes the depths seethe like a cauldron; he makes the sea like a jar of ointment.
৩১সে অগাধ জলকে পাত্রে ফোঁটান জলের মত করে; সে সমুদ্রকে পাত্রের মলমের মতন করে।
32 He leaves a glistening wake behind him; one would think the deep had white hair!
৩২তার পিছনে রাস্তা চক চক করে; কেউ কেউ মনে করে অগাধ জল সাদা চুলের মত।
33 Nothing on earth is his equal— a creature devoid of fear!
৩৩পৃথিবীতে তার সমান কিছু নেই, যাকে ভয়শূন্য করে বানান হয়েছে।
34 He looks down on all the haughty; he is king over all the proud.”
৩৪সে সবকিছু দেখে যা গর্বিত; গর্বের সন্তানদের ওপর তিনি রাজা।
