Job 26
1 Then Job answered:
Porém Job respondeu e disse:
2 “How you have helped the powerless and saved the arm that is feeble!
Como ajudaste aquelle que não tinha força? e sustentaste o braço que não tinha vigor?
3 How you have counseled the unwise and provided fully sound insight!
Como aconselhaste aquelle que não tinha sabedoria, e plenamente lhe fizeste saber a causa, assim como era?
4 To whom have you uttered these words? And whose spirit spoke through you?
A quem proferiste palavras? e cujo é o espirito que saiu de ti?
5 The dead tremble— those beneath the waters and those who dwell in them.
Os mortos tremem debaixo das aguas, com os seus moradores d'ellas.
O inferno está nú perante elle, e não ha coberta para a perdição. (Sheol h7585)
7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth upon nothing.
O norte estende sobre o vazio: a terra pendura sobre o nada.
8 He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight.
Prende as aguas nas suas nuvens, todavia a nuvem não se rasga debaixo d'ellas.
9 He covers the face of the full moon, spreading over it His cloud.
Encobre a face do seu throno, e sobre ella estende a sua nuvem.
10 He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.
Assignalou limite sobre a superficie das aguas ao redor d'ellas, até que se acabem a luz e as trevas.
11 The foundations of heaven quake, astounded at His rebuke.
As columnas do céu tremem, e se espantam da sua ameaça.
12 By His power He stirred the sea; by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
Com a sua força fende o mar, e com o seu entendimento abate a sua soberba.
13 By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
Pelo seu Espirito ornou os céus: a sua mão formou a serpente enroscadiça.
14 Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”
Eis que isto são só as bordas dos seus caminhos; e quão pouco é o que temos ouvido d'elle! Quem pois entenderia o trovão do seu poder?
