< Job 15 >
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
Ket simmungbat ni Elifaz a Temanita ket kinunana,
2 “Does a wise man answer with empty counsel or fill his belly with the hot east wind?
“Sumungbat aya ti masirib a tao babaen iti awan serserbina a pannakaammo ken punoenna ti bagina iti angin ti daya?
3 Should he argue with useless words or speeches that serve no purpose?
Agkalintegan aya isuna babaen iti awan serserbina a sasao wenno kadagiti panagsasao nga awan ti nasayaat a maibungana?
4 But you even undermine the fear of God and hinder meditation before Him.
Pudno, kiskissayam ti panagraem iti Dios; laplapdam ti panangutob kenkuana,
5 For your iniquity instructs your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.
ta isursuro ti kinadangkesmo ti ngiwatmo; pilpiliem ti maaddaan iti dila ti tao a nasikap.
6 Your own mouth, not mine, condemns you; your own lips testify against you.
Uk-ukomennaka ti bukodmo a ngiwat, saan a siak; wen, agsaksi dagiti bukodmo a bibig a maibusor kenka.
7 Were you the first man ever born? Were you brought forth before the hills?
Sika kadi ti umuna a tao a naiyanak? Napaaddaka kadi sakbay dagiti turturod?
8 Do you listen in on the council of God or limit wisdom to yourself?
Nangngegmo kadi ti nalimed a pannakaammo ti Dios? Sika laeng kadi ti tao a masirib?
9 What do you know that we do not? What do you understand that is not clear to us?
Ania ti ammom a saanmi nga ammo? Ania ti maawatam nga awan met kadakami?
10 Both the gray-haired and the aged are on our side— men much older than your father.
Kaduami dagiti ubanan ken dagiti nataengan unayen a tattao a laklakay ngem ti amam.
11 Are the consolations of God not enough for you, even words spoken gently to you?
Bassit kadi unay dagiti pangliwliwa ti Dios para kenka, dagiti sasao a naalumamay a para kenka?
12 Why has your heart carried you away, and why do your eyes flash,
Apay nga ipanawnaka ti pusom? Apay nga agkusilap dagiti matam,
13 as you turn your spirit against God and pour such words from your mouth?
tapno iturongmo ti espiritum a maibusor iti Dios ken iruarmo dagiti kasta a sasao manipud iti ngiwatmo?
14 What is man, that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?
Ania ti tao a nadalus koma isuna? Ania isuna a naiyanak iti babai a nalinteg koma isuna?
15 If God puts no trust in His holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in His eyes,
Adtoy, saan nga agtaltalek ti Dios uray kadagiti sasantona; wen, saan a nadalus dagiti langit iti imatangna;
16 how much less man, who is vile and corrupt, who drinks injustice like water?
ad-adda pay a narugit ti maysa a makarimon ken nakillo, ti maysa a tao nga umin-inom iti kinadangkes a kasla danum!
17 Listen to me and I will inform you. I will describe what I have seen,
Ipakitak kenka; dumngegka kaniak; Ibagakto kenka dagiti banbanag a nakitak,
18 what was declared by wise men and was not concealed from their fathers,
dagiti banbanag nga imbaga met dagiti mamasirib a lallaki manipud kadagiti ammada, dagiti banbanag a saan nga inlemmeng dagiti kapuonanda.
19 to whom alone the land was given when no foreigner passed among them.
Dagitoy dagiti kapuonanda, nga isu laeng ti nakaitedan ti daga, ken awan a pulos ti gangganaet a limmabas kadakuada.
20 A wicked man writhes in pain all his days; only a few years are reserved for the ruthless.
Agtiritir ti ut-ot ti nadangkes a tao kadagiti amin nga al-aldawna, ti bilang dagiti tawtawen a naisagana a maipaay iti panagsagaba ti mangparparigat.
21 Sounds of terror fill his ears; in his prosperity the destroyer attacks him.
Adda kadagiti lapayagna ti uni dagiti pamutbuteng; bayat iti kinarang-ayna, umayto kenkuana ti managdadael.
22 He despairs of his return from darkness; he is marked for the sword.
Saanna a panpanunoten nga agsublinto isuna manipud iti kinasipnget; agur-uray ti kampilan kenkuana.
23 He wanders about as food for vultures; he knows the day of darkness is at hand.
Mapan isuna iti nadumaduma a disso para iti tinapay, a kunkunana, “Sadinno ti ayanna daytoy?' Ammona a dandanin umay ti aldaw ti kinasipnget.
24 Distress and anguish terrify him, overwhelming him like a king poised to attack.
Butbutngen isuna ti rigat ken ut-ot; agballigi dagitoy a maibusor kenkuana, a kas ti ari a nakasagana a makigubat.
25 For he has stretched out his hand against God and has vaunted himself against the Almighty,
Gapu ta inyunnatna ti imana a maibusor iti Dios ken sitatangsit a maibusor iti Mannakabalin amin,
26 rushing headlong at Him with a thick, studded shield.
daytoy a nadangkes a tao ket agtaray a mapan iti Dios a sisisikkel ti tengngedna, nga addaan ti napuskol a kalasag.
27 Though his face is covered with fat and his waistline bulges with flesh,
Pudno daytoy, uray no kinallubanna ti rupana babaen ti kinalukmegna ken nagurnong ti taba kadagiti lomlomona,
28 he will dwell in ruined cities, in abandoned houses destined to become rubble.
ken nagnaed kadagiti nabaybay-an a siudad; kadagiti balbalay nga awan ti agnanaed ita ken nakasagana nga agbalin a gabsuon.
29 He will no longer be rich; his wealth will not endure. His possessions will not overspread the land.
Saanto a bumaknang isuna; saanto nga agpaut ti kinabaknangna; saanto pay nga agpaut uray ti aniniwanna iti daga.
30 He will not escape from the darkness; the flame will wither his shoots, and the breath of God’s mouth will carry him away.
Saanto isuna a makapanaw iti kinasipnget; pagangngoento ti apuy dagiti sangsangana; pumanawto isuna gapu iti anges ti ngiwat ti Dios.
31 Let him not deceive himself with trust in emptiness, for emptiness will be his reward.
Saan koma nga agtalek isuna kadagiti awan serserbina a banbanag, nga al-allilawenna ti bagina; ta ti kinaawan-mammaayna ket isunto ti gungonana.
32 It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not flourish.
Mapasamakto daytoy sakbay nga umay ti tiempo ti ipapatayna; saanto a lumangto ti sangana.
33 He will be like a vine stripped of its unripe grapes, like an olive tree that sheds its blossoms.
Iregregnanto dagiti naganus nga ubasna a kas iti lanut ti ubas; itinnagnanto dagiti sabsabongna a kas iti kayo ti olibo.
34 For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.
Ta malupesto dagiti bunggoy dagiti awan diosna a tattao; uramento ti apuy dagiti toldada ti pannakapasuksok.
35 They conceive trouble and give birth to evil; their womb is pregnant with deceit.”
Agsikugda ti kinaranggas ken ipasngayda ti kinadangkes; agsikug ti aanakanda iti panangallilaw.”
