Job 13
1 “Indeed, my eyes have seen all this; my ears have heard and understood.

2 What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.
Sé lo que sabes. No eres mejor que yo.
3 Yet I desire to speak to the Almighty and argue my case before God.
Pero aun así me gustaría hablar con el Todopoderoso: ¡Quiero probarme ante Dios!
4 You, however, smear with lies; you are all worthless physicians.
En cuanto a ustedes, ¡encubren las cosas diciendo mentiras! ¡Todos ustedes son como los médicos que no pueden curar a nadie!
5 If only you would remain silent; for that would be your wisdom!
¡Cuánto desearía que se callaran todos! Eso sería lo más sensato para ustedes.
6 Hear now my argument, and listen to the plea of my lips.
Escuchen mi argumento y presten atención a lo que tengo que decir.
7 Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf or speak deceitfully for Him?
¿Creen que pueden decir mentiras para defender a Dios? ¿Hablan con engaño en su nombre?
8 Would you show Him partiality or argue in His defense?
¿O es que quieren demostrar su favoritismo a Dios? ¿Argumentarán en favor de Dios?
9 Would it be well when He examined you? Could you deceive Him like a man?
¿Concluirá Dios que hacen el bien cuando los examine? ¿Podrán engañarlo como si se tratara de un ser humano?
10 Surely He would rebuke you if you secretly showed partiality.
¡No, definitivamente los reprenderá si le muestran secretamente su favoritismo!
11 Would His majesty not terrify you? Would the dread of Him not fall upon you?
¿No les aterra su majestad? ¿Acaso no se paralizarían de miedo ante él?
12 Your maxims are proverbs of ashes; your defenses are defenses of clay.
Sus dichos son tan útiles como la ceniza; sus argumentos tan débiles como el barro.
13 Be silent, and I will speak. Then let come to me what may.
Callen y no me hablen. Déjenme hablar, pase lo que pase.
14 Why do I put myself at risk and take my life in my own hands?
Me hago responsable de mí mismo y estoy dispuesto a arriesgar mi vida.
15 Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. I will still defend my ways to His face.
Aunque me mate, esperaré en él. Todavía seguiré defendiendo mis caminos ante él.
16 Moreover, this will be my salvation, for no godless man can appear before Him.
Haciendo esto me salvaré, ya que ningún impío podría presentarse ante él.
17 Listen carefully to my words; let my declaration ring in your ears.
Escuchen atentamente lo que digo, y presten atención a mi explicación.
18 Behold, now that I have prepared my case, I know that I will be vindicated.
Miren que he preparado mi caso y sé que se me dará la razón.
19 Can anyone indict me? If so, I will be silent and die.
¿Quién quiere discutir conmigo? Si se demuestra que estoy equivocado, estoy dispuesto a callar y morir.
20 Only grant these two things to me, so that I need not hide from You:
Dios, tengo dos peticiones, entonces podré enfrentarme a ti.
21 Withdraw Your hand from me, and do not let Your terror frighten me.
Deja de golpearme, y deja de aterrorizarme.
22 Then call me, and I will answer, or let me speak, and You can reply.
Entonces llama, y yo responderé. O déjame hablar, y luego respóndeme.
23 How many are my iniquities and sins? Reveal to me my transgression and sin.
¿Cuáles son mis pecados e iniquidades? Muéstrame qué he hecho mal; ¿cómo me he rebelado contra ti?
24 Why do You hide Your face and consider me as Your enemy?
¿Por qué eres tan hostil conmigo? ¿Por qué me tratas como tu enemigo?
25 Would You frighten a windblown leaf? Would You chase after dry chaff?
¿Asustarías a una hoja movida por el viento o cazarías un pedazo de paja?
26 For You record bitter accusations against me and bequeath to me the iniquities of my youth.
Porque escribes cosas amargas contra mí y me haces pagar por los pecados de mi juventud.
27 You put my feet in the stocks and stand watch over all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet.
Pones mis pies en el cepo. Vigilas cada uno de mis pasos. Incluso inspeccionas mis huellas.
28 So man wastes away like something rotten, like a moth-eaten garment.
Me deshago como algo podrido, como ropa apolillada.
