Jeremiah 49
1 Concerning the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: “Has Israel no sons? Is he without heir? Why then has Milcom taken possession of Gad? Why have his people settled in their cities?
১অম্মোনীয়দের বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “ইস্রায়েলের কি কোন ছেলে নেই? ইস্রায়েলের উত্তরাধিকারী কি কেউ নেই? তাহলে মিলকম মূর্তির উপাসকরা কেন গাদের জায়গা অধিকার করে এবং মিলকমের লোকেরা সেখানকার শহরগুলিতে বাস করে?
2 Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sound the battle cry against Rabbah of the Ammonites. It will become a heap of ruins, and its villages will be burned. Then Israel will drive out their dispossessors, says the LORD.
২তাই দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “যখন আমি অম্মোনীয়দের রব্বা শহরের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধের হাঁক দেব; তখন তা ধ্বংসস্তূপ হবে, আর তার মেয়েরা আগুনে পুড়ে যাবে। কারণ ইস্রায়েল তাদের দখল করবে, যারা তাকে দখল করে ছিল।” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai has been destroyed; cry out, O daughters of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth and mourn; run back and forth within your walls, for Milcom will go into exile together with his priests and officials.
৩“হে হিশবোন, বিলাপ কর, কারণ অয় শহর ধ্বংস হবে! হে রব্বা শহরের মেয়েরা, চিত্কার কর! চট পর। বিলাপ কর এবং দেয়ালগুলির মধ্যে দৌড়াদৌড়ি কর, কারণ মিলকম ও তার সঙ্গে তার যাজকরা ও নেতারা বন্দীদশায় যাবে।
4 Why do you boast of your valleys— your valleys so fruitful, O faithless daughter? You trust in your riches and say, ‘Who can come against me?’
৪কেন তুমি তোমার শক্তি নিয়ে গর্ব করছ? তোমার শক্তি বিলীন হয়ে যাবে, অবিশ্বস্ত মেয়ে; তুমি তোমার সম্পত্তির উপর নির্ভর কর। তুমি বল, ‘কে আমার বিরুদ্ধে আসবে?’
5 Behold, I am about to bring terror upon you, declares the Lord GOD of Hosts, from all those around you. You will each be driven headlong, with no one to regather the fugitives.
৫দেখ, আমি তোমার উপরে বিপদ আনব” এটা প্রভু, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “তোমার চারদিকের সবার কাছ থেকে বিপদ আসবে। তোমাদের প্রত্যেককে তার সামনে ছড়িয়ে পড়বে, পালিয়ে যাওয়া লোকদের কেউ তোমাদের জড়ো করার জন্য থাকবে না।
6 Yet afterward I will restore the Ammonites from captivity,” declares the LORD.
৬কিন্তু পরে আমি অম্মোনীয়দের অবস্থা ফেরাব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
7 Concerning Edom, this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?
৭ইদোমের বিষয়ে বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তৈমনে কি জ্ঞান নেই? বুদ্ধিমানদের কাছে কি উপদেশ শেষ হয়ে গেছে? তাদের জ্ঞান কি চলে গেছে?
8 Turn and run! Lie low, O dwellers of Dedan, for I will bring disaster on Esau at the time I punish him.
৮পালাও! ফিরে যাও! হে দদানের বাসিন্দারা, ভূমির গভীরে গিয়ে বাস কর। কারণ আমি এষৌর উপর তার বিপদ, তাকে শাস্তি দেবার দিন উপস্থিত করব।
9 If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleanings? Were thieves to come in the night, would they not steal only what they wanted?
৯যদি যারা আঙ্গুর তোলে, তারা তোমার কাছে আসে, তারা কি কিছু ফল অবশিষ্ট রাখবে না? চোরেরা যদি রাতে আসে, তবে তারা কি তাদের দরকার মত চুরি করবে না?
10 But I will strip Esau bare; I will uncover his hiding places, and he will be unable to conceal himself. His descendants will be destroyed along with his relatives and neighbors, and he will be no more.
১০কিন্তু আমি এষৌকে জনশূন্য করেছি। আমি তার গোপন জায়গাগুলি প্রকাশ করেছি, যাতে সে লুকাতে না পারে। তার বংশের লোকেরা, তার ভাইয়েরা ও তার প্রতিবেশীরা ধ্বংস হল, সেও চলে গেছে।
11 Abandon your orphans; I will preserve their lives. Let your widows trust in Me.”
১১তুমি তোমার অনাথ ছেলে মেয়েদের ত্যাগ কর; আমি তাদের জীবন রক্ষা করব। তোমার বিধবারাও আমার উপর বিশ্বাস করুক।”
12 For this is what the LORD says: “If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, can you possibly remain unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for you must drink it too.
১২কারণ সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “দেখ, সেই পাত্রে পান করার যাদের নিয়ম ছিল না, তাদের সেই পাত্রে পান করতে হবে, তাদের তুমি কি শাস্তি না পেয়েই চলে যাবে? তুমি শাস্তিভোগ না করে যাবে না, অবশ্যই পান করবে।”
13 For by Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that Bozrah will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and a curse, and all her cities will be in ruins forever.”
১৩কারণ সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “আমি নিজের নামে এই শপথ করছি যে, বস্রা আতঙ্ক, মর্যাদাহীন, ধ্বংস ও অভিশাপের পাত্র হবে। তার সমস্ত শহর চিরকালের জন্য ধ্বংস হয়ে থাকবে।”
14 I have heard a message from the LORD; an envoy has been sent to the nations: “Assemble yourselves to march against her! Rise up for battle!”
১৪আমি সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে এই খবর শুনেছি এবং একজন দূতকে জাতিদের কাছে পাঠানো হয়েছে, “জড়ো হও ও তাকে আক্রমণ কর। যুদ্ধ করার জন্য তৈরী হও।
15 “For behold, I will make you small among nations, despised among men.
১৫কারণ দেখ, আমি জাতিদের মধ্যে তোমাকে সবচেয়ে ছোট করব এবং লোকদের মধ্যে ঘৃণার পাত্র করব।
16 The terror you cause and the pride of your heart have deceived you, O dwellers in the clefts of the rocks, O occupiers of the mountain summit. Though you elevate your nest like the eagle, even from there I will bring you down,”
১৬তোমার আতঙ্কের জন্য, তোমার অন্তরের গর্ব তোমাকে ছলনা করেছে; হে শিলার বাসিন্দা, যদিও তুমি ঈগলের মত উঁচু জায়গায় বাস কর, তবুও সেখান থেকে আমি তোমাকে নীচে নামিয়ে আনব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
17 “Edom will become an object of horror. All who pass by will be appalled and will scoff at all her wounds.
১৭“ইদোমের প্রত্যেকের কাছে বিস্ময়ের পাত্র হবে, যারা তার পাশ দিয়ে যাবে তারা সবাই ভীষণ কাঁপবে এবং তার সব আঘাতের জন্য তাকে শিশ ধ্বনি দেবে।
18 As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown along with their neighbors,” says the LORD, “no one will dwell there; no man will abide there.
১৮তাদের প্রতিবেশীর সঙ্গে যেমন সদোম ও ঘমোরাকে ধ্বংস করা হয়েছিল” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “তেমনি ইদোমে কেউ বাস করবে না; তার মধ্যে কোন মানুষ থাকবে না।
19 Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will chase Edom from her land. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can challenge Me? What shepherd can stand against Me?”
১৯দেখ, সিংহের মত যর্দ্দনের জঙ্গল থেকে উঠে এসে ভাল চারণ ভূমিতে শিকার করবে। তেমনি করে আমি মুহূর্তের মধ্যে ইদোমকে তার দেশ থেকে তাড়া করব। আমি তার উপর আমার মনোনীত লোককে নিযুক্ত করব। কে আমার মত ও কে আমাকে ডাকতে পারে? কোন পালক আমার বিরুদ্ধে টিকে থাকতে পারে?”
20 Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against Edom and the strategies He has devised against the people of Teman: Surely the little ones of the flock will be dragged away; certainly their pasture will be made desolate because of them.
২০তাই ইদোমের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভু কি সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন, তৈমনের বাসিন্দাদের বিরুদ্ধে তিনি কি পরিকল্পনা করেছেন তা শোনো। লোকেরা অবশ্যই তাদের টেনে নিয়ে, এমনকি পালের বাচ্চাদেরও। তাদের কাজের জন্য তাদের চারণ ভূমি তিনি একেবারে ধ্বংস করে দেবেন।
21 At the sound of their fall the earth will quake; their cry will resound to the Red Sea.
২১তাদের পতনের শব্দে পৃথিবী কাঁপে; তাদের কান্না লোহিত সাগর পর্যন্ত শোনা যায়।
22 Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down, spreading its wings over Bozrah. In that day the hearts of Edom’s mighty men will be like the heart of a woman in labor.
২২দেখ, কোনো একজন ঈগলের মত আক্রমণ করবে, ছোঁ মারবে এবং বস্রার উপরে তার ডানা মেলে দেবে। সেই দিন ইদোমের সৈনিকদের অন্তর প্রসবযন্ত্রণা ভোগকারিণী স্ত্রীলোকের অন্তরের মত হবে।
23 Concerning Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard a bad report; they are agitated like the sea; their anxiety cannot be calmed.
২৩দম্মেশকের বিষয়: “হমাৎ ও অর্পদ লজ্জিত হবে, কারণ তারা বিপদের খবর শুনেছে। তারা নরম হল! তারা অস্থির সাগরের মত, যা শান্ত হতে পারে না।
24 Damascus has become feeble; she has turned to flee. Panic has gripped her; anguish and pain have seized her like a woman in labor.
২৪দম্মেশক দুর্বল হয়েছে, সে পালাবার জন্য ফিরেছে এবং ভয় তাকে আঁকড়ে ধরেছে। প্রসব যন্ত্রণা ভোগকারিণী স্ত্রীলোকের মত যন্ত্রণা ও ব্যথা তাকে গ্রাস করেছে।
25 How is the city of praise not forsaken, the town that brings Me joy?
২৫যার লোকেরা বলে, ‘কেমন সেই বিখ্যাত শহর! যাকে নিয়ে আমি আনন্দ করেছি, কেন পরিত্যক্ত হয়নি’?”
26 For her young men will fall in the streets, and all her warriors will be silenced in that day,”
২৬বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “এই জন্য তার যুবকেরা তার চকে পতিত হবে এবং সেই দিন সমস্ত সৈন্যরা বিনষ্ট হবে।
27 “I will set fire to the walls of Damascus; it will consume the fortresses of Ben-hadad.”
২৭দম্মেশকের দেয়ালগুলিতে আমি আগুন লাগিয়ে দেব; তা বিনহদদের দুর্গগুলি পুড়িয়ে ফেলবে।”
28 Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated, this is what the LORD says: “Rise up, advance against Kedar, and destroy the people of the east!
২৮কেদর ও হাৎসোর সম্মন্ধে বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরকে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন (এখন বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর সেই স্থানকে আক্রমণ করে যাচ্ছিলেন): “ওঠো, কেদর আক্রমণ কর এবং পূর্বদেশের লোকদের ধ্বংস কর।
29 They will take their tents and flocks, their tent curtains and all their goods. They will take their camels for themselves. They will shout to them: ‘Terror is on every side!’
২৯লোকে তাদের তাঁবুগুলি ও পশুপাল, তাঁবুর পর্দা ও তাদের সমস্ত জিনিস নিয়ে যাবে। তারা কেদরের লোকেদের থেকে উট নিয়ে যাবে এবং চিৎকার করে তাদের বলবে, ‘চারদিকে আতঙ্ক!’
30 Run! Escape quickly! Lie low, O residents of Hazor,” declares the LORD, “for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has drawn up a plan against you; he has devised a strategy against you.
৩০পালাও! দূরে চলে যাও! হে হাৎসোরের বাসিন্দারা, ভূমির গর্তে বাস কর” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “কারণ বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করেছে। পালাও! ফিরে যাও!
31 Rise up, advance against a nation at ease, one that dwells securely,” declares the LORD. “They have no gates or bars; they live alone.
৩১জেগে ওঠো! সেই নিরাপদে থাকা জাতিকে আক্রমণ কর” সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন। “তাদের কোনো ফটকও নেই, খিলও নেই; তারা একা বাস করে।
32 Their camels will become plunder, and their large herds will be spoil. I will scatter to the wind in every direction those who shave their temples; I will bring calamity on them from all sides,”
৩২কারণ তাদের উটগুলি লুটিত মাল হবে এবং তাদের অনেক পশুপাল লুট হবে। যারা চুলের কোন কাটে, তাদের আমি সমস্ত বায়ুর দিকে ছড়িয়ে দেব এবং সব দিক থেকেই তাদের উপর বিপদ আনব” সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন।
33 “Hazor will become a haunt for jackals, a desolation forever. No one will dwell there; no man will abide there.”
৩৩“হাৎসোর হবে শিয়ালদের বাসস্থান ও চিরস্থায়ী জনশূন্য জায়গা। কেউ সেখানে বাস করবে না, তার মধ্যে কোন মানুষ থাকবে না।”
34 This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah.
৩৪এলম সম্বন্ধে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য ভাববাদী যিরমিয়ের কাছে এল। এটা ঘটেছে, যখন যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয় রাজত্ব শুরু করেন। এটা হল,
35 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will shatter Elam’s bow, the mainstay of their might.
৩৫“বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘দেখ, আমি এলমের ধনুক, তাদের শক্তির প্রধান খুঁটি ভেঙে ফেলব।
36 I will bring the four winds against Elam from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which Elam’s exiles will not go.
৩৬কারণ আমি আকাশের চার কোন থেকে এলমের বিরুদ্ধে বাতাস আনব এবং সেই বাতাসে আমি এলমের লোকেদের ছড়িয়ে দেব; এমন কোন জাতি নেই, যেখান এলমের দূর করে দেওয়া লোকেরা যাবে।
37 So I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who seek their lives. I will bring disaster upon them, even My fierce anger,” declares the LORD. “I will send out the sword after them until I finish them off.
৩৭তাই আমি এলমকে তাদের শত্রুদের সামনে ও যারা তাদের প্রাণের খোঁজ করে তাদের সামনে ছড়িয়ে দেব। কারণ আমি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে বিপদ, আমার জ্বলন্ত রোষ নিয়ে আসব’ এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। ‘আমি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে তরোয়াল পাঠাব, যতক্ষণ না আমি তাদের বিলুপ্ত করি।
38 I will set My throne in Elam, and destroy its king and officials,”
৩৮তখন আমি এলমে আমার সিংহাসন স্থাপন করব এবং তার রাজা ও নেতাদের ধ্বংস করব’ এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
39 “Yet in the last days, I will restore Elam from captivity,”
৩৯‘এটা আগামীদিনের ঘটবে, আমি এলমের অবস্থা ফিরিয়ে আনব’ এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।”
