Jeremiah 4
1 “If you will return, O Israel, return to Me,” declares the LORD. “If you will remove your detestable idols from My sight and no longer waver,
“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೇ, ನೀನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವಿಯಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಾ,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. “ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಸಹ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ, ಅಲೆದಾಡದೆ ಇರುವೆ.
2 and if you can swear, ‘As surely as the LORD lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then the nations will be blessed by Him, and in Him they will glory.”
ನೀನು ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದಲೂ ನೀತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡುವೆ. ಆಗ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಪಡೆಯ ಬಯಸುವರು. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡುವರು.”
3 For this is what the LORD says to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “Break up your unplowed ground, and do not sow among the thorns.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಂಜರು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಗೆಯ್ಯಿರಿ. ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಜ ಬಿತ್ತಬೇಡಿರಿ.
4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and remove the foreskins of your hearts, O men of Judah and people of Jerusalem. Otherwise, My wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it, because of your evil deeds.”
ಯೆಹೂದದವರೇ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳ ಮುಂದೊಗಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿರಿ. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಉಗ್ರವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊರಟು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಯಾರೂ ಆರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಉರಿಯುವುದು.”
5 Announce in Judah, proclaim in Jerusalem, and say: “Blow the ram’s horn throughout the land. Cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves and let us flee to the fortified cities.’
“ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಚಾರಪಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರಿ, ‘ಇಡೀ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತುತೂರಿ ಊದಿರಿ!’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ. ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಕೂಗಿರಿ, ‘ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸೋಣ!’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
6 Raise a signal flag toward Zion. Seek refuge! Do not delay! For I am bringing disaster from the north, and terrible destruction.
ಚೀಯೋನಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಧ್ವಜವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿರಿ; ವಿಳಂಬವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಉತ್ತರದಿಂದ ಕೇಡನ್ನೂ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ನಾಶವನ್ನೂ ತರುತ್ತೇನೆ.”
7 A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his lair to lay waste your land. Your cities will be reduced to ruins and lie uninhabited.
ಸಿಂಹವು ತನ್ನ ಪೊದೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಏರಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇತರ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಿವಾಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಾಳು ಬೀಳುವುದು.
8 So put on sackcloth, mourn and wail, for the fierce anger of the LORD has not turned away from us.”
ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸಿರಿ, ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಉಗ್ರಕೋಪದ ಉರಿಯು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
9 “In that day,” declares the LORD, “the king and officials will lose their courage. The priests will tremble in fear, and the prophets will be astounded.”
ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ, “ಅರಸನ ಹೃದಯವೂ ಎದೆಗುಂದುವುದು. ಅಧಿಪತಿಯ ಹೃದಯವೂ ಕುಗ್ಗುವುದು. ಯಾಜಕರು ಭ್ರಮೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಸ್ತಬ್ಧರಾಗುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
10 Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD, how completely You have deceived this people and Jerusalem by saying, ‘You will have peace,’ while a sword is at our throats.”
ಆಗ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಹಾ, ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೂ, ‘ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗುವುದು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಬಹಳ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ. ಖಡ್ಗವು ಅವರ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ” ಎಂದೆನು.
11 At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A searing wind from the barren heights in the desert blows toward the daughter of My people, but not to winnow or to sift;
ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೂ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು: “ಒಣ ಗಾಳಿಯು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದು ತೂರುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಆಗತಕ್ಕದ್ದಲ್ಲ.
12 a wind too strong for that comes from Me. Now I also pronounce judgments against them.”
ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಬಿರುಸಾದ ಗಾಳಿ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದು. ಈಗಲೂ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನು.”
13 Behold, he advances like the clouds, his chariots like the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!
ಇಗೋ, ಮೇಘಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಏರಿ ಬರುವನು. ಆತನ ರಥಗಳು ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರುವುವು. ಆತನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನು ಹೇಳೋಣ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಹಾಳಾದೆವು.
14 Wash the evil from your heart, O Jerusalem, so that you may be saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts within you?
ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೋ; ನಿನ್ನ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟರವರೆಗೆ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗುವುವು.
15 For a voice resounds from Dan, proclaiming disaster from the hills of Ephraim.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಶಬ್ದವು ದಾನಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕಟಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮಿನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಿಂದ ಆಪತ್ತನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
16 Warn the nations now! Proclaim to Jerusalem: “A besieging army comes from a distant land; they raise their voices against the cities of Judah.
“ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ. ಇಗೋ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿರಿ. ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ‘ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವ ಸೈನ್ಯದವರು ದೂರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಕೂಗನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
17 They surround her like men guarding a field, because she has rebelled against Me,” declares the LORD.
ಹೊಲ ಕಾಯುವವರಂತೆ ಸುತ್ತಲಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾಳೆಂದು,’” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
18 “Your ways and deeds have brought this upon you. This is your punishment; how bitter it is, because it pierces to the heart!”
“ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವು, ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ. ಅದು ಕಹಿಯಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಟುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?”
19 My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh, the pain in my chest! My heart pounds within me; I cannot be silent. For I have heard the sound of the horn, the alarm of battle.
ಓ, ನನ್ನ ಕರುಳು, ನನ್ನ ಕರುಳು! ನಾನು ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ನರಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಳಮಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ನಾನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಾರೆನು; ಓ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವೇ, ತುತೂರಿ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನೂ, ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆರ್ಭಟವನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.
20 Disaster after disaster is proclaimed, for the whole land is laid waste. My tents are destroyed in an instant, my curtains in a moment.
ನಾಶನದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಶನದ ಸುದ್ದಿಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಳಾಯಿತು. ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಗಳೂ, ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ತೆರೆಗಳೂ ಹಾಳಾದವು.
21 How long must I see the signal flag and hear the sound of the horn?
ಎಷ್ಟರವರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಯುದ್ಧದ ಧ್ವಜವನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿ? ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟರವರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೇಳಲಿ?
22 “For My people are fools; they have not known Me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing evil, but they know not how to do good.”
“ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರು ಮೂಢರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವರು ಅರಿಯರು; ಮೂರ್ಖ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರು ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರು; ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜಾಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಿಯರು.”
23 I looked at the earth, and it was formless and void; I looked to the heavens, and they had no light.
ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು, ಇಗೋ, ಅದು ನಿರಾಕಾರವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಹಾಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ಶೂನ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇತ್ತು. ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ನೋಡಿದೆನು, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
24 I looked at the mountains, and behold, they were quaking; all the hills were swaying.
ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು, ಇಗೋ, ಅವು ನಡುಗಿದವು; ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ಹಗುರವಾಗಿ ಅದುರಿದವು.
25 I looked, and no man was left; all the birds of the air had fled.
ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು, ಇಗೋ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದವು.
26 I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert. All its cities were torn down before the LORD, before His fierce anger.
ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು, ಇಗೋ, ಫಲವುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಾಯಿತು; ಅದರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ, ಅವರ ಉಗ್ರಕೋಪದ ಉರಿಯ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದವು.
27 For this is what the LORD says: “The whole land will be desolate, but I will not finish its destruction.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ: “ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಳಾಗುವುದು. ಆದರೂ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ.
28 Therefore the earth will mourn and the heavens above will grow dark. I have spoken, I have planned, and I will not relent or turn back.”
ಇದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಭೂಮಿಯು ದುಃಖಿಸುವುದು. ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಆಕಾಶವು ಕಪ್ಪಾಗುವುದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಮಾನಸಾಂತರ ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.”
29 Every city flees at the sound of the horseman and archer. They enter the thickets and climb among the rocks. Every city is abandoned; no inhabitant is left.
ರಾವುತರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನವರ ಶಬ್ದದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು. ಪೊದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಕ್ಕು, ಬಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತುವರು. ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶವಾಗುವುವು. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡನು.
30 And you, O devastated one, what will you do, though you dress yourself in scarlet, though you adorn yourself with gold jewelry, though you enlarge your eyes with paint? You adorn yourself in vain; your lovers despise you; they want to take your life.
ಆಗ ನೀನು ನಿರ್ಜನನಾದಾಗ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವೆ? ನೀನು ಕಡುಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೊಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೇನು? ಚಿನ್ನದ ಆಭರಣಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೇನು? ಕಾಡಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಗಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಶೃಂಗರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೇನು? ನೀವು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
31 For I hear a cry like a woman in labor, a cry of anguish like one bearing her first child— the cry of the Daughter of Zion gasping for breath, stretching out her hands to say, “Woe is me, for my soul faints before the murderers!”
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಸವವೇದನೆ ಪಡುವವಳಂತೆ, ಚೊಚ್ಚಲನ್ನು ಹೆರುವವಳ ಸಂಕಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿರುವ ಚೀಯೋನಿನ ಮಗಳ ಕಿರಿಚುವ ಕೂಗನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆಕೆಯು ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ, ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ, “ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನಗೀಗ ಕಷ್ಟ! ಕೊಲೆಗಾರರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಬೇಸರಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅರಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
