Jeremiah 39
1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his entire army and laid siege to the city.
येरूशलेम का पतन इस प्रकार हुआ: यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू के राज्य-काल के नवें वर्ष के दसवें माह में बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने अपनी सारी सेना के साथ आकर येरूशलेम की घेराबंदी की.
2 And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year, the city was breached.
सीदकियाहू के राज्य-काल के ग्यारहवें वर्ष के चौथे माह में नवीं तिथि को, नगर शहरपनाह तोड़ करके वे नगर में घुस गए.
3 Then all the officials of the king of Babylon entered and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-sarsekim the Rabsaris, Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
यह होते ही बाबेल के राजा के सभी अधिकारी भीतर आ गए और मध्य प्रवेश द्वार पर बैठ गए: ये अधिकारी थे सामगर का नेरगल-शारेज़र तथा नेबो-सारसेकिम, जो अधिकारियों में प्रमुख था, राजा का परामर्शक नेरगल-शारेज़र तथा अन्य सभी अधिकारी.
4 When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled. They left the city at night by way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls, and they went out along the route to the Arabah.
जब सीदकियाहू तथा उसके सैनिकों ने यह देखा; वे रात्रि में राजा के उद्यान में से होते हुए दोनों शहरपनाह के मध्य के द्वार से नगर से होते हुए पलायन कर गए, उन्होंने अराबाह घाटी की ओर भागना चाहा.
5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They seized him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced judgment on him.
किंतु कसदी सेना ने उनका पीछा किया और उन्होंने येरीख़ो के मैदान में यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू को जा पकड़ा. उसे बंदी बना लिया और उसे बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र की उपस्थिति में हामाथ देश के रिबलाह में ले गए, वहां सीदकियाहू पर दंड की आज्ञा प्रसारित कर दी गई.
6 There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he also killed all the nobles of Judah.
तत्पश्चात बाबेल के राजा ने सीदकियाहू के देखते-देखते रिबलाह में उसके पुत्रों का वध कर डाला, बाबेल के राजा ने यहूदिया के सारे अधिकारियों का भी वध कर दिया.
7 Then he put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him with bronze chains to take him to Babylon.
फिर नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने सीदकियाहू की आंखें निकाल लीं और उसे कांसे की सांकलों में बांधकर बाबेल ले गए.
8 The Chaldeans set fire to the palace of the king and to the houses of the people, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
कसदियों ने महलों को तथा प्रजा के आवासों को भस्म कर दिया तथा येरूशलेम की शहरपनाह तोड़ दीं.
9 Then Nebuzaradan captain of the guard carried away to Babylon the remnant of the people who had remained in the city, along with the deserters who had defected to him.
इस समय वे लोग जो नगर में शेष रह गए थे, वे लोग, जो नगर छोड़कर कसदियों की शरण में जा पहुंचे थे तथा अन्य लोगों को अंगरक्षकों का प्रधान नेबुज़रादान बंधुआई में बाबेल ले गया.
10 But Nebuzaradan left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people who had no property, and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.
किंतु कुछ अत्यंत निर्धन लोगों को जिनके पास कुछ भी न था, अंगरक्षकों का प्रधान नेबुज़रादान यहूदिया में ही पीछे छोड़ गया; इन्हें उसने द्राक्षाउद्यान एवं खेत सौंप दिए.
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan captain of the guard, saying,
इसी समय बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने येरेमियाह के विषय में अंगरक्षकों के प्रधान नेबुज़रादान के द्वारा यह आदेश प्रसारित कर दिया था:
12 “Take him, look after him, and do not let any harm come to him; do for him whatever he says.”
“उसे ले जाकर उसकी देखभाल करो; ध्यान रहे उसकी कोई हानि न होने पाए, उसके साथ वही किया जाए, जिसका वह तुमसे आग्रह करता है.”
13 So Nebuzaradan captain of the guard, Nebushazban the Rabsaris, Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag, and all the captains of the king of Babylon
इसलिये अंगरक्षकों के प्रधान नेबुज़रादान ने रब-सारिस नबूषाज़बान तथा रब-माग नेरगल-शारेज़र के द्वारा तथा बाबेल के राजा के सारे प्रमुख अधिकारियों के द्वारा यह संदेश प्रसारित कर दिया
14 had Jeremiah brought from the courtyard of the guard, and they turned him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So Jeremiah remained among his own people.
उन्होंने कुछ व्यक्तियों को भेजा और उन्होंने येरेमियाह को पहरे के आंगन से निकालकर शापान के पौत्र अहीकाम के पुत्र, गेदालियाह को सौंप दिया, कि वह येरेमियाह को अपने आवास ले जाए. इस प्रकार येरेमियाह लोगों के मध्य रहने लगे.
15 And while Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD had come to him:
ऐसा हुआ कि जब येरेमियाह पहरे के आंगन में बंदी बनाकर रखे गए थे, उनके पास याहवेह का यह संदेश आ चुका था:
16 “Go and tell Ebed-melech the Cushite that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to fulfill My words against this city for harm and not for good, and on that day they will be fulfilled before your eyes.
“जाकर कूश देशवासी एबेद-मेलेख को यह सूचित करो, ‘इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह की यह वाणी है: यह देखना, कि इस नगर के लिए की गई अपनी पूर्ववाणी को मैं कृतार्थ करने पर हूं—उस वाणी को, जो इसके विध्वंस की वाणी थी, समृद्धि की नहीं. विध्वंस के उस दिन को देखने के लिए तुम जीवित रहोगे.
17 But I will deliver you on that day, declares the LORD, and you will not be delivered into the hands of the men whom you fear.
किंतु उस दिन मैं तुम्हें इस विध्वंस से बचा लूंगा, यह याहवेह की वाणी है; तुम उन लोगों द्वारा बंदी नहीं बनाए जाओगे, जो तुम्हारे लिए भयास्पद हैं.
18 For I will surely rescue you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in Me, you will escape with your life like a spoil of war, declares the LORD.’”
क्योंकि मैं तुम्हें निःसंदेह उनसे बचा लूंगा, तुम तलवार से घात नहीं किए जाओगे. तुम्हारा अपना जीवन ही लूट सामग्री सदृश तुम्हारा छुटकारा होगा, क्योंकि तुमने मुझ पर भरोसा किया है, यह याहवेह की वाणी है.’”
