Jeremiah 29

1 This is the text of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets, and all the others Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

೧ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಸೆರೆಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರಿಗೂ, ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಅಂತು ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆ ಒಯ್ದಿದ್ದ ಸಕಲ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಬರೆದು ರವಾನಿಸಿದ ಕಾಗದದ ಮಾತುಗಳು.

2 (This was after King Jeconiah, the queen mother, the court officials, the officials of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the metalsmiths had been exiled from Jerusalem.)

೨ಇದು ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು, ರಾಜಮಾತೆಯು, ಕಂಚುಕಿಗಳು, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸರದಾರರು, ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಗಳು, ಕಮ್ಮಾರರು ಇವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು.

3 The letter was entrusted to Elasah son of Shaphan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It stated:

೩ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನಿಂದ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾಸ, ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆಮರ್ಯ ಇವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

4 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says to all the exiles who were carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:

೪ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದ ಸೆರೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,

5 “Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat their produce.

೫ನೀವು ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿರಿ, ತೋಟಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿರಿ.

6 Take wives and have sons and daughters. Take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Multiply there; do not decrease.

೬ಸಂಸಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಗಂಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಅವರೂ ಗಂಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲಿ; ನೀವು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿರಿ, ಕೊರತೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸದಿರಿ.

7 Seek the prosperity of the city to which I have sent you as exiles. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

೭ನಾನು ಯಾವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಾಗಿಸಿದೆನೋ, ಅದರ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಹಾರೈಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿರಿ; ಅದರ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಷೇಮ.

8 For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Do not be deceived by the prophets and diviners among you, and do not listen to the dreams you elicit from them.

೮ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಶಕುನದವರಿಂದಲೂ ಮೋಸಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಕನಸುಕಂಡು ಹೇಳುವವರಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.

9 For they are falsely prophesying to you in My name; I have not sent them, declares the LORD.”

೯ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ” ಎಂದು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.

10 For this is what the LORD says: “When Babylon’s seventy years are complete, I will attend to you and confirm My promise to restore you to this place.

೧೦ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಬಾಬೆಲ್ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಬಲಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂಬ ನನ್ನ ಶುಭವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವೆನು.

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.

೧೧ಇವರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಲಿ, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ಅವು ಅಹಿತದ ಯೋಚನೆಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಹಿತದ ಯೋಚನೆಗಳೇ.

12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

೧೨ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವಿರಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುವಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವೆನು.

13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

೧೩ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವಿರಿ, ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಹುಡುಕಿದಾಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ.

14 I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and places to which I have banished you, declares the LORD. I will restore you to the place from which I sent you into exile.”

೧೪ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ದೊರೆಯುವೆನು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುರವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಸಕಲಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದೆನೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು, ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ” ಎಂಬುದೇ.

15 Because you may say, “The LORD has raised up for us prophets in Babylon,”

೧೫ನೀವೋ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ.

16 this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city, your brothers who did not go with you into exile—

೧೬ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಾರೂಢನಾದ ಅರಸನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋಗದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸಕಲ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ,

17 this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will send against them sword and famine and plague, and I will make them like rotten figs, so bad they cannot be eaten.

೧೭“ಆಹಾ, ನಾನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಖಡ್ಗ, ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ ಯಾರೂ ತಿನ್ನದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟು ಕೇವಲ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಗತಿಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತರುವೆನು.

18 I will pursue them with sword and famine and plague. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth—a curse, a desolation, and an object of scorn and reproach among all the nations to which I banish them.

೧೮ನಾನು ಖಡ್ಗ, ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾ, ಲೋಕದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಾಸ್ಪದವಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಪ, ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ, ದೂಷಣೆ, ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.

19 I will do this because they have not listened to My words, declares the LORD, which I sent to them again and again through My servants the prophets. And neither have you exiles listened, declares the LORD.”

೧೯ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ; ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪದೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದರೂ ಅವರು ಕೇಳಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರು ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.”

20 So hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.

೨೦ನಾನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದ ಸೆರೆಯವರೇ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ.

21 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you lies in My name: “I will deliver them to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will kill them before your very eyes.

೨೧ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರೆತ್ತಿ ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಕೊಲಾಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹಾಬ, ಮಾಸೇಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯ ಇವರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನ ಕೈಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು; ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೆ ಇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸುವನು.

22 Because of them, all the exiles of Judah who are in Babylon will use this curse: ‘May the LORD make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!’

೨೨ಇವರ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ಶಪಿಸುವ ಮಾತಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ‘ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನ ಮತ್ತು ಅಹಾಬನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ತರಲಿ’ ಎಂದು ಶಪಿಸುವರು.

23 For they have committed an outrage in Israel by committing adultery with the wives of their neighbors and speaking lies in My name, which I did not command them to do. I am He who knows, and I am a witness, declares the LORD.”

೨೩ಇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದುರಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ, ನೆರೆಯವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಮಾಡಿ, ನಾನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಸಾರಿದಿರಲ್ಲಾ; ನಾನೇ ಬಲ್ಲೆ, ನಾನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂಬುದೇ.

24 You are to tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite that

೨೪ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಈ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು, ನೀನು ನೆಹೆಲಾಮ್ಯನಾದ ಶೆಮಾಯನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕು,

25 this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “In your own name you have sent out letters to all the people of Jerusalem, to the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah, and to all the priests. You said to Zephaniah:

೨೫ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನೀನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ, ಜನರಿಗೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಚೆಫನ್ಯನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಕಾಗದದಲ್ಲಿ,

26 ‘The LORD has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada, to be the chief officer in the house of the LORD, responsible for any madman who acts like a prophet—you must put him in stocks and neck irons.

೨೬“ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಜಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿ, ಯಾರು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಂತೆ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೋಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ, ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಕವೆಯೊಡ್ಡುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ.

27 So now, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you?

೨೭ಹೀಗಿರಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸುವ ಅನಾತೋತಿನವನಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಏಕೆ ಖಂಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ?

28 For he has sent to us in Babylon, claiming: Since the exile will be lengthy, build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat their produce.’”

೨೮ಇವನು, ‘ಪರದೇಶ ವಾಸವು ನಿಮಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘವಾಗುವುದು, ನೀವು ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿರಿ, ತೋಟಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿರಿ’ ಎಂದು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ನೋಡು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬರೆದ ಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ.”

29 (Zephaniah the priest, however, had read this letter to Jeremiah the prophet.)

೨೯ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚೆಫನ್ಯನು ಈ ಕಾಗದವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಿದನು.

30 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

೩೦ಅನಂತರ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.

31 “Send a message telling all the exiles what the LORD says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite. Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you—though I did not send him—and has made you trust in a lie,

೩೧ನೀನು ಸೆರೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸು, “ನೆಹೆಲಾಮ್ಯನಾದ ಶೆಮಾಯನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನಾನು ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೂ ಶೆಮಾಯನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಮಾಡಿ ಸುಳ್ಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಇಗೋ,

32 this is what the LORD says: ‘I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good that I will bring to My people, declares the LORD, for he has preached rebellion against the LORD.’”

೩೨ನಾನು ಆ ನೆಹೆಲಾಮ್ಯನಾದ ಶೆಮಾಯನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರನ್ನೂ ದಂಡಿಸುವೆನು; ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಆಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸಂತಾನವೂ ಇರದು; ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಮೇಲನ್ನು ಅವನು ನೋಡದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು; ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
