Jeremiah 23
1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” declares the LORD.
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “ধিক্ সেই পালকদের, যারা আমার চারণভূমির মেষদের ছিন্নভিন্ন ও ধ্বংস করে!”
2 Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the shepherds who tend My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your deeds, declares the LORD.
সেই কারণে, যারা আমার প্রজাদের চরায়, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে এই কথা বলেন: “তোমরা যেহেতু আমার মেষদের ছিন্নভিন্ন করেছ, তাদের বিতাড়িত করেছ এবং তাদের প্রতি কোনো যত্ন করোনি, তোমরা তাদের প্রতি যে অন্যায় করেছ, তার জন্য আমি তোমাদের শাস্তি দেব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
3 Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock from all the lands to which I have banished them, and I will return them to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and multiply.
“আমি যে সমস্ত দেশে আমার প্রজাপালকে বিতাড়িত করেছি, আমি স্বয়ং সেখান থেকে তাদের অবশিষ্টাংশকে সংগ্রহ করে তাদের চারণভূমিতে ফিরিয়ে আনব। সেখানে তারা ফলবান হবে ও সংখ্যায় বৃদ্ধি পাবে।
4 I will raise up shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or dismayed, nor will any go missing, declares the LORD.
আমি তাদের উপরে পালকদের নিযুক্ত করব। তারা তাদের তত্ত্বাবধান করবে। তারা আর ভীত বা আতঙ্কগ্রস্ত হবে না, কেউ হারিয়েও যাবে না,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
5 Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and He will reign wisely as King and will administer justice and righteousness in the land.
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “সেদিন আসন্ন,” যখন দাউদের বংশ থেকে আমি এক ধার্মিক পল্লবকে তুলে ধরব, সেই রাজা জ্ঞানপূর্বক রাজত্ব করবে এবং সেদেশে যথার্থ ও ন্যায়সংগত কাজ করবে।
6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is His name by which He will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
তার সময়ে যিহূদা পরিত্রাণ পাবে এবং ইস্রায়েল নিরাপদে বসবাস করবে। আর এই নামে সে আখ্যাত হবে, সদাপ্রভু আমাদের ধার্মিক ত্রাণকর্তা।
7 So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt.’
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “তাহলে সেই দিনগুলি আসছে, যখন লোকেরা আর বলবে না, ‘জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্যি, যিনি ইস্রায়েলীদের মিশর থেকে মুক্ত করে এনেছেন,’
8 Instead they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought and led the descendants of the house of Israel up out of the land of the north and all the other lands to which He had banished them.’ Then they will dwell once more in their own land.”
কিন্তু তারা বলবে, ‘জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্যি, যিনি ইস্রায়েলের বংশধরদের উত্তরের দেশ থেকে এবং যে সমস্ত দেশে তাদের নির্বাসিত করেছিলেন, সেখান থেকে তাদের নিয়ে এসেছেন।’ তখন তারা স্বদেশে বসবাস করবে।”
9 As for the prophets: My heart is broken within me, and all my bones tremble. I have become like a drunkard, like a man overcome by wine, because of the LORD, because of His holy words.
ভাববাদীদের সম্পর্কিত বিষয়: আমার অন্তর আমার মধ্যে ভেঙে পড়েছে, আমার সব হাড় কাঁপতে থাকে; আমি এক মাতাল ব্যক্তির মতো হয়েছি, দ্রাক্ষারসে পরাভূত কোনো লোকের মতো, সদাপ্রভু ও তাঁর পবিত্র বাক্যের কারণে।
10 For the land is full of adulterers— because of the curse, the land mourns and the pastures of the wilderness have dried up— their course is evil and their power is misused.
দেশ সব ব্যভিচারীতে পূর্ণ; অভিশাপের কারণে দেশ শুকনো হয়ে পড়ে আছে, মরুপ্রান্তের সব চারণভূমি শুকিয়ে গেছে। ভাববাদীরা এক মন্দ উপায় অবলম্বন করে, তারা তাদের ক্ষমতার অন্যায় ব্যবহার করে।
11 “For both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in My house I have found their wickedness,”
“ভাববাদী ও যাজক, উভয়েই ভক্তিহীন; এমনকি, আমার মন্দিরেও আমি তাদের দুষ্টতা দেখি,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
12 “Therefore their path will become slick; they will be driven away into the darkness and fall into it. For I will bring disaster upon them in the year of their punishment,”
“সেই কারণে তাদের পথ পিচ্ছিল হবে, তাদের অন্ধকারে তাড়িয়ে দেওয়া হবে এবং সেখানেই তাদের পতন হবে। যে বছরে তারা শাস্তি পাবে, আমি তাদের উপরে বিপর্যয় নিয়ে আসব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
13 “Among the prophets of Samaria I saw an offensive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray.
“শমরিয়ার ভাববাদীদের মধ্য আমি এই বিরক্তিকর ব্যাপার দেখেছি, তারা বায়াল-দেবতার নামে ভাববাণী করে আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে বিপথগামী করেছে।
14 And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: They commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns his back on wickedness. They are all like Sodom to Me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.”
আবার জেরুশালেমের ভাববাদীদের মধ্যে, আমি এই ভয়ংকর ব্যাপার দেখেছি, তারা ব্যভিচার করে ও মিথ্যাচারের জীবন কাটায়। তারা অন্যায়কারীদের হাত শক্ত করে, যেন কেউই তার দুষ্টতার পথ থেকে না ফেরে। তারা সবাই আমার কাছে সদোমের লোকদের মতো; জেরুশালেমের লোকেরা ঘমোরার মতো।”
15 Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts says concerning the prophets: “I will feed them wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink, for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land.”
অতএব, ভাববাদীদের সম্পর্কে বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “আমি তাদের খেতে দেব তেতো আহার, পান করার জন্য বিষাক্ত জল, কারণ জেরুশালেমের সব ভাববাদীর কাছ থেকে ভক্তিহীনতা ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে সমস্ত দেশে।”
16 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “ভাববাদীরা তোমাদের কাছে যে ভাববাণী বলে, তোমরা সেই কথা শুনো না; তারা মিথ্যা আশা তোমাদের মনে ভরায়। তাদের মনগড়া দর্শনের কথা তারা বলে, যা সদাপ্রভুর মুখ থেকে নির্গত হয়নি।
17 They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘The LORD says that you will have peace,’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, ‘No harm will come to you.’
যারা আমাকে অবজ্ঞা করে, তারা তাদের কাছে বলে যায়, ‘সদাপ্রভু বলেন: তোমাদের শান্তি হবে।’ আর যারাই তাদের হৃদয়ের একগুঁয়েমির অধীনে চলে, তারা বলে, ‘তোমাদের কোনো ক্ষতি হবে না।’
18 But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and obeyed it?
কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে কে সদাপ্রভুর সভায় দাঁড়িয়েছে তাঁকে দেখার বা তাঁর কথা শোনার জন্য? কে তাঁর বাক্য শুনে তা অবধান করেছে?
19 Behold, the storm of the LORD has gone out with fury, a whirlwind swirling down upon the heads of the wicked.
দেখো, সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ ঝড়ের মতো আছড়ে পড়বে, তা ঘূর্ণিবায়ুর মতো ঘুরে ঘুরে দুষ্টদের মাথায় পড়বে।
20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has fully accomplished the purposes of His heart. In the days to come you will understand this clearly.
সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ ফিরে আসবে না যতক্ষণ না তা তাঁর হৃদয়ের অভিপ্রায় পূর্ণরূপে সাধন করে। আগামী দিনগুলিতে তোমরা তা স্পষ্ট বুঝতে পারবে।
21 I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.
আমি এসব ভাববাদীকে প্রেরণ করিনি, তবুও তারা নিজেদেরই বার্তা আমার বলে দাবি করেছে। আমি তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলিনি, তবুও তারা ভাববাণী বলেছে।
22 But if they had stood in My council, they would have proclaimed My words to My people and turned them back from their evil ways and deeds.”
কিন্তু, যদি তারা আমার দরবারে দাঁড়াত, তারা আমার কথা আমার প্রজাদের কাছে ঘোষণা করত এবং তাদের মন্দ পথ ও সব মন্দ কর্ম করা থেকে ফেরাত।
23 “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the LORD, “and not a God far away?”
“আমি কি কেবলমাত্র নিকটের ঈশ্বর,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “আমি কি দূরের ঈশ্বর নই?
24 “Can a man hide in secret places where I cannot see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.
কেউ কি এমন কোনো গোপন স্থানে লুকাতে পারে, যেখানে আমি তাকে দেখতে পাব না?” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন। “আমি কি স্বর্গ ও মর্ত্য জুড়ে থাকি না?” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
25 “I have heard the sayings of the prophets who prophesy lies in My name: ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
“যে ভাববাদীরা আমার নামে মিথ্যা ভাববাণী বলে, সেই ভাববাদীরা কী বলে, আমি তা শুনেছি। তারা বলে, ‘আমি একটি স্বপ্ন দেখেছি! আমি একটি স্বপ্ন দেখেছি!’
26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these prophets who prophesy falsehood, these prophets of the delusion of their own minds?
এসব ভণ্ড ভাববাদীর মনে কত কাল এসব থাকবে, যারা নিজেদের ভ্রান্ত মন থেকে উৎপন্ন এসব ভাববাণী বলে?
27 They suppose the dreams that they tell one another will make My people forget My name, just as their fathers forgot My name through the worship of Baal.
তারা মনে করে, পরস্পরের কাছে তারা যে স্বপ্নের কথা বলে, তার ফলে আমার প্রজারা আমার নাম ভুলে যাবে, যেভাবে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা বায়াল-দেবতার উপাসনার মাধ্যমে আমার নাম ভুলে গিয়েছিল।
28 Let the prophet who has a dream retell it, but let him who has My word speak it truthfully. For what is straw compared to grain?” declares the LORD.
যে ভাববাদী স্বপ্ন দেখেছে, সে তার স্বপ্নের কথা বলুক, কিন্তু যার কাছে আমার বাক্য আছে, সে তা বিশ্বস্তভাবে বলুক। কারণ শস্যদানার সঙ্গে খড়ের কী সম্পর্ক?” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
29 “Is not My word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that smashes a rock?”
“আমার বাক্য কি আগুনের মতো নয়,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “এবং তা কি কোনো হাতুড়ির মতো নয়, যা পাথরকে খণ্ড খণ্ড করে?
30 “Therefore behold,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words they attribute to Me.”
“সেই কারণে,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “আমি সেইসব ভাববাদীর বিরুদ্ধে, যারা পরস্পরের কাছ থেকে বাক্য চুরি করে ও দাবি করে যে সেই বাক্যগুলি আমার কাছ থেকে পেয়েছে।”
31 “Yes,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and proclaim, ‘The LORD declares it.’”
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি সেইসব ভাববাদীর বিরুদ্ধে, যারা নিজেরা নিজেদের জিভ নাড়ায়, অথচ বলে, ‘সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন।’
32 “Indeed,” declares the LORD, “I am against those who prophesy false dreams and retell them to lead My people astray with their reckless lies. It was not I who sent them or commanded them, and they are of no benefit at all to these people,” declares the LORD.
প্রকৃতপক্ষে, আমি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে, যারা আমার নামে মিথ্যা স্বপ্নের ভাববাণী বলে,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন। “তারা তাদের সেগুলি বলে এবং তাদের ভাবনাচিন্তাহীন মিথ্যার দ্বারা আমার প্রজাদের বিপথগামী করে, যদিও আমি তাদের পাঠাইনি বা নিয়োগ করিনি। তারা এই লোকদের বিন্দুমাত্রও উপকার করতে পারে না,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
33 “Now when this people or a prophet or priest asks you, ‘What is the burden of the LORD?’ you are to say to them, ‘What burden? I will forsake you, declares the LORD.’
“মনে করো, কোনো প্রজা বা ভাববাদীদের বা যাজকদের মধ্যে কোনো একজন তোমাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করে, ‘সদাপ্রভু কোনও ভাববাণী দিয়ে এখন তোমাকে ভারগ্রস্ত করেছেন?’ তাহলে তাদের বোলো, ‘তোমরাই হলে সেই ভার। সদাপ্রভু বলেছেন, তিনি তোমাদের পরিত্যাগ করবেন।’
34 As for the prophet or priest or anyone who claims, ‘This is the burden of the LORD,’ I will punish that man and his household.
কোনো ভাববাদী বা যাজক বা অন্য কেউ যদি দাবি করে, ‘এই হল সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে পাওয়া প্রত্যাদেশ,’ তাহলে আমি সেই ব্যক্তিকে এবং তার পরিজনদের শাস্তি দেব।
35 This is what each man is to say to his friend and to his brother: ‘What has the LORD answered?’ or ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
তোমাদের প্রত্যেকে তার বন্ধু বা আপনজনকে এই কথা বলতে থাকো: ‘সদাপ্রভু কি উত্তর দিয়েছেন?’ অথবা ‘সদাপ্রভু কী কথা বলেছেন?’
36 But refer no more to the burden of the LORD, for each man’s word becomes the burden, so that you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of Hosts, our God.
কিন্তু তোমরা আর ‘সদাপ্রভুর ভাববাণী’ বলে উল্লেখ করবে না, কারণ সব মানুষের নিজেরই কথা তার পক্ষে ভারস্বরূপ হবে এবং এইভাবে তোমরা জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের সব বাক্যকে বিকৃত করে থাকো, যিনি হলেন বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের ঈশ্বর।
37 Thus you are to say to the prophet: ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
তোমরা এই কথা কোনো ভাববাদীকে বলতে থাকো, ‘আপনাকে সদাপ্রভু কী উত্তর দিয়েছেন?’ বা ‘সদাপ্রভু কী কথা বলেছেন?’
38 But if you claim, ‘This is the burden of the LORD,’ then this is what the LORD says: Because you have said, ‘This is the burden of the LORD,’ and I specifically told you not to make this claim,
তোমরা যদিও দাবি করো, ‘এই হল সদাপ্রভুর ভাববাণী,’ একথা সদাপ্রভু বলেন: তোমরা এই কথাগুলি ব্যবহার করো, ‘এই হল সদাপ্রভুর ভাববাণী,’ যদিও আমি তোমাদের বলেছি, তোমরা ‘এই হল সদাপ্রভুর ভাববাণী,’ একথা অবশ্যই আর বলবে না।
39 therefore I will surely forget you and will cast you out of My presence, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers.
অতএব, আমি নিশ্চিতরূপে তোমাদের ভুলে যাব এবং যে নগর আমি তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের দিয়েছিলাম, তা আমার উপস্থিতি থেকে দূরে নিক্ষেপ করব।
40 And I will bring upon you everlasting shame and perpetual humiliation that will never be forgotten.”
আমি তোমাদের উপরে চিরস্থায়ী দুর্নাম নিয়ে আসব—এক চিরকালীন লজ্জা, যা লোকেরা ভুলে যাবে না।”
