Jeremiah 18
1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
১যিহোৱাৰ পৰা যিৰিমিয়ালৈ এই বাক্য আহিল,
2 “Go down at once to the potter’s house, and there I will reveal My message to you.”
২বোলে, “তুমি উঠি কুমাৰৰ ঘৰলৈ নামি যোৱা, আৰু তাতেই মই তোমাক মোৰ বাক্য শুনাম।”
3 So I went down to the potter’s house and saw him working at the wheel.
৩তেতিয়া মই কুমাৰৰ ঘৰলৈ নামি গ’লো, আৰু চোৱা! কুমাৰে তাৰ চাকত নিজৰ কাম কৰি আছে।
4 But the vessel that he was shaping from the clay became flawed in his hand; so he formed it into another vessel, as it seemed best for him to do.
৪আৰু তেওঁ মাটিৰে তৈয়াৰ কৰা পাত্ৰ তেওঁৰ হাতত বেয়া হোৱা দেখি, তেওঁ তাক লৈ পুনৰায় নিজ ইচ্ছামতে আন এটা পাত্ৰ বনালে।
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
৫তেতিয়া যিহোৱাৰ পৰা মোলৈ বাক্য আহিল আৰু ক’লে,
6 “O house of Israel, declares the LORD, can I not treat you as this potter treats his clay? Just like clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
৬যিহোৱাই কৈছে, “হে ইস্ৰায়েল বংশ, এই কুমাৰৰ দৰে তোমালোকৰ লগত মই জানো ব্যৱহাৰ কৰিব নোৱাৰোঁ?” “হে ইস্ৰায়েল-বংশ, চোৱা! যেনেকৈ কুমাৰৰ হাতত মাটি, তেনেকৈ মোৰ হাতত তোমালোক আছা।
7 At any time I might announce that a nation or kingdom will be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed.
৭যি মুহুৰ্ত্ততে তুমি কোনো এক জাতি আৰু কোনো এক ৰাজ্যৰ বিষয়ে উঘলা, ভঙা আৰু তাক বিনষ্ট কৰা কথা কওঁ,
8 But if that nation I warned turns from its evil, then I will relent of the disaster I had planned to bring.
৮মই কোৱা সেই জাতি যদি সেই মুহুৰ্ত্ততে তেওঁলোকৰ দুষ্টতাৰ পৰা ঘূৰে, তেন্তে মই তেওঁলোকলৈ কৰিব খোজা মঙ্গলৰ পৰা মন পালটাম।
9 And if at another time I announce that I will build up and establish a nation or kingdom,
৯আৰু যি মুহুৰ্ত্ততে কোনো এক জাতি আৰু কোনো এক ৰাজ্যৰ বিষয়ে সজা আৰু ৰোৱা কথা কওঁ,
10 and if it does evil in My sight and does not listen to My voice, then I will relent of the good I had intended for it.
১০সেই মুহুৰ্ত্ততে যদি সেই জাতিয়ে মোৰ বাক্য পালন নকৰি মোৰ সাক্ষাতে কু-আচৰণ কৰে, তেন্তে মই তেওঁলোকলৈ কৰিব খোজা মঙ্গলৰ পৰা মন পালটাম।
11 Now therefore, tell the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem that this is what the LORD says: ‘Behold, I am planning a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways, and correct your ways and deeds.’
১১এই হেতুকে এতিয়া তুমি যিহূদাৰ লোকসকলক আৰু যিৰূচালেম-নিবাসীসকলক কোৱাগৈ, যিহোৱাই এইদৰে কৈছে, “চোৱা, মই তোমালোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে মঙ্গল-চিন্তা কৰিছোঁ। আৰু তোমালোকৰ অহিতে কল্পনা কৰিছোঁ; তোমালোক প্ৰতিজনে নিজ নিজ কু-পথৰ পৰা ওলটা, নিজ নিজ পথ আৰু কাৰ্য শুধৰোৱা।”
12 But they will reply, ‘It is hopeless. We will follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.’”
১২কিন্তু তেওঁলোকে কয়, ‘কি কাম আছে? কিয়নো আমি নিজ নিজ কল্পনা অনুসাৰে চলিম, আৰু প্ৰতিজনে নিজ নিজ দুষ্ট মনৰ কঠিনতা অনুসাৰে কাৰ্য কৰিম’।”
13 Therefore this is what the LORD says: “Inquire among the nations: Who has ever heard things like these? Virgin Israel has done a most terrible thing.
১৩এই হেতুকে যিহোৱাই এইদৰে কৈছে: “তোমালোকে এতিয়া জাতি সমূহৰ মাজত সোধা, এনে কথা কোনে শুনিলে? কুমাৰী ইস্ৰায়েলে অতিশয় নোম শিয়ৰি যোৱা কাৰ্য কৰিলে।
14 Does the snow of Lebanon ever leave its rocky slopes? Or do its cool waters flowing from a distance ever run dry?
১৪লিবানোনৰ হিমে জানো দেশৰ মাজত থকা এই পৰ্ব্বতকেইটাক ত্যাগ কৰে? বা দূৰৰ পৰা বৈ অহা শীতল জলৰ জুৰি জানো শুকায়?
15 Yet My people have forgotten Me. They burn incense to worthless idols that make them stumble in their ways, leaving the ancient roads to walk on rutted bypaths instead of on the highway.
১৫কিয়নো মোৰ প্ৰজাসকলে মোক পাহৰিলে, তেওঁলোকে অসাৰ দেৱতাবোৰৰ উদ্দেশ্যে ধুপ জ্বলালে; আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ দেশ আচৰিতৰ আৰু সদায় ইচ্ ইচ্ কৰাৰ বিষয় কৰিবৰ বাবে,
16 They have made their land a desolation, a perpetual object of scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and shake their heads.
১৬নবন্ধা পথ সৰু সৰু বাটত ফুৰাবলৈ সেইবোৰে তেওঁলোকৰ বাটত, প্ৰাচীন পথত উজুটি খুৱালে। যি কোনোৱে সেই দেশেদি যাব, তেওঁ আচৰিত হৈ নিজৰ মূৰ জুকাৰিব।
17 I will scatter them before the enemy like the east wind. I will show them My back and not My face in the day of their calamity.”
১৭মই পূব ফালৰ বতাহৰ দৰে শত্ৰূবোৰৰ আগত তেওঁলোকক চিন্ন-ভিন্ন কৰিম; তেওঁলোকৰ সঙ্কটৰ কালত মই তেওঁলোকক মুখ নেদেখুৱাই পিঠি দেখুৱাম।
18 Then some said, “Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an oracle to the prophet. Come, let us denounce him and pay no heed to any of his words.”
১৮তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে ক’লে, ‘আহাঁ, আমি যিৰিমিয়াৰ অহিতে কু-মন্ত্ৰণা কৰোঁহক; কিয়নো পুৰোহিতৰ পৰা ব্যৱস্থা, জ্ঞানীসকলৰ পৰা মন্ত্ৰণা আৰু ভাববাদীৰ পৰা বাক্য লুপ্ত নহ’ব; আহাঁ, আমি জিভাৰে তাক প্ৰহাৰ কৰোঁ, তাৰ কোনো বাক্যত মন নিদিওঁ।
19 Attend to me, O LORD. Hear what my accusers are saying!
১৯হে যিহোৱা! মোলৈ মন দিয়া, আৰু মোৰ বিপক্ষবোৰৰ কথা শুনা।
20 Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You to speak good on their behalf, to turn Your wrath from them.
২০উপকাৰৰ সলনি জানো অপকাৰ কৰা যাব? কিয়নো তেওঁলোকে মোৰ প্ৰাণলৈ গাত খানিলে; মই তেওঁলোকৰ পক্ষে হিত কথা কৈ তেওঁলোকৰ পৰা তোমাৰ ক্ৰোধ থমাবলৈ, তোমাৰ আগত কেনেকৈ থিয় হৈছিলোঁ, তাক সোঁৱৰণ কৰা।
21 Therefore, hand their children over to famine; pour out the power of the sword upon them. Let their wives become childless and widowed; let their husbands be slain by disease, their young men struck down by the sword in battle.
২১এই হেতুকে তুমি তেওঁলোকৰ সন্তান সকলক দুৰ্ভিক্ষত সমৰ্পণ কৰা, আৰু তেওঁলোকক তৰোৱালৰ হাতত শোধাই দিয়া; তেওঁলোকৰ স্ত্রীসকল পুত্ৰহীনা আৰু বিধৱা হওঁক, তেওঁলোকৰ পুৰুষবোৰ মহামাৰীত মৰক, আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ ডেকাবোৰ যুদ্ধত তৰোৱালৰ দ্বাৰাই হত হওঁক।
22 Let a cry be heard from their houses when You suddenly bring raiders against them, for they have dug a pit to capture me and have hidden snares for my feet.
২২তুমি তেওঁলোকলৈ অকস্মাতে সৈন্য এদল আনিলে তেওঁলোকৰ ঘৰবোৰৰ পৰা এটি চিঞঁৰ শুনা যাওঁক; কিয়নো তেওঁলোকে মোক ধৰিবলৈ এটা গাত খানিলে, আৰু মোৰ ভৰিলৈ ফান্দ পাতিলে!
23 But You, O LORD, know all their deadly plots against me. Do not wipe out their guilt or blot out their sin from Your sight. Let them be overthrown before You; deal with them in the time of Your anger.
২৩তথাপি হে যিহোৱা, মোক বধ কৰাবলৈ মোৰ অহিতে কৰা তেওঁলোকৰ সকলো মন্ত্ৰণা তুমি জানি আছা। তুমি তেওঁলোকৰ অপৰাধ ক্ষমা নকৰিবা, নাইবা তেওঁলোকৰ পাপ তোমাৰ দৃষ্টিৰ পৰা মচি নেপেলাবা; কিন্তু তেওঁলোকক তোমাৰ আগত উজুটি খুৱাই পেলোৱা হওঁক, তুমি নিজ ক্ৰোধৰ সময়ত তেওঁলোকলৈ কাৰ্য কৰা।
