Jeremiah 13
1 This is what the LORD said to me: “Go and buy yourself a linen loincloth and put it around your waist, but do not let it touch water.”
౧యెహోవా నాతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “నువ్వు వెళ్లి అవిసెనార నడికట్టు కొనుక్కుని నీటితో తడపకుండానే నీ నడుముకు కట్టుకో.”
2 So I bought a loincloth as the LORD had instructed me, and I put it around my waist.
౨కాబట్టి యెహోవా మాట ప్రకారం నేను నడికట్టు ఒకటి కొనుక్కుని నడుముకు కట్టుకున్నాను.
3 Then the word of the LORD came to me a second time:
౩యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు రెండోసారి ప్రత్యక్షమై ఇలా చెప్పాడు.
4 “Take the loincloth that you bought and are wearing, and go at once to Perath and hide it there in a crevice of the rocks.”
౪“నువ్వు కొని నడుముకు కట్టుకున్న నడికట్టును తీసి, యూఫ్రటీసు నది దగ్గరికి పోయి అక్కడ ఉన్న బండ సందులో దాన్ని దాచిపెట్టు.”
5 So I went and hid it at Perath, as the LORD had commanded me.
౫యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్టే నేను వెళ్ళి యూఫ్రటీసు దగ్గర దాన్ని దాచిపెట్టాను.
6 Many days later the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to Perath, and get the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there.”
౬చాలా రోజుల తరవాత యెహోవా “నువ్వు యూఫ్రటీసు దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి, అక్కడ దాచిపెట్టిన నడికట్టు తీసుకో” అని నాతో చెప్పాడు.
7 So I went to Perath and dug up the loincloth, and I took it from the place where I had hidden it. But now it was ruined—of no use at all.
౭నేను యూఫ్రటీసు దగ్గరికి పోయి తవ్వి దాచిపెట్టిన నడికట్టును తీసుకున్నాను. అయితే ఆ నడికట్టు చెడిపోయి ఉంది. అది దేనికీ పనికిరాకుండా ఉంది.
8 Then the word of the LORD came to me:
౮అప్పుడు యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై ఇలా చెప్పాడు.
9 “This is what the LORD says: In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
౯“యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ఇదే విధంగా యూదా ప్రజల గర్వాన్ని, యెరూషలేము ప్రజల మహా గర్వాన్ని నేను అణచివేస్తాను.
10 These evil people, who refuse to listen to My words, who follow the stubbornness of their own hearts, and who go after other gods to serve and worship them, they will be like this loincloth—of no use at all.
౧౦ఈ ప్రజలు అన్య దేవుళ్ళను పూజిస్తూ, వాటికే నమస్కారం చేస్తున్నారు. వాటినే అనుసరిస్తూ, నా మాటలు వినకుండా తమ హృదయ కాఠిన్యం చొప్పున నడుస్తున్నారు. వారు ఎందుకూ పనికిరాని ఈ నడికట్టులాగా అవుతారు.
11 For just as a loincloth clings to a man’s waist, so I have made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to Me, declares the LORD, so that they might be My people for My renown and praise and glory. But they did not listen.
౧౧వారిని నా ప్రజలుగా చేసుకుని వారి ద్వారా నాకు కీర్తి ప్రతిష్టలు, మహిమ కలగాలని నేను ఆశించాను. ఒకడు నడికట్టు కట్టుకున్నట్టుగా నేను ఇశ్రాయేలు, యూదా ప్రజలందరినీ నా నడుము చుట్టూ కట్టుకున్నాను గానీ, వారు నా మాటలు వినలేదు.”
12 Therefore you are to tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Every wineskin shall be filled with wine.’ And when they reply, ‘Don’t we surely know that every wineskin should be filled with wine?’
౧౨కాబట్టి నువ్వు వారితో ఇలా చెప్పు. “ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ప్రతి ద్రాక్ష తిత్తీ రసంతో నిండి ఉండాలి.” “ద్రాక్ష తిత్తులు రసంతో నిండి ఉండాలి అని మాకు తెలియదా” అని వారు నీతో అంటే, వారితో ఈ మాటలు చెప్పు.
13 then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD says: ‘I am going to fill with drunkenness all who live in this land—the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the people of Jerusalem.
౧౩“యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ఈ దేశ ప్రజలందరినీ, అంటే, దావీదు సింహాసనం మీద కూర్చునే రాజులను, యాజకులను, ప్రవక్తలను, యెరూషలేము ప్రజలను, అందరినీ నేను మత్తులో మునిగేలా చేయబోతున్నాను.
14 I will smash them against one another, fathers and sons alike, declares the LORD. I will allow no mercy or pity or compassion to keep Me from destroying them.’”
౧౪అప్పుడు నేను తండ్రులూ కొడుకులూ అందరూ కూలిపోయి ఒకడి మీద ఒకడు పడేలా చేస్తాను. వారి మీద జాలీ, కనికరమూ చూపకుండా వారిని నాశనం చేస్తాను.”
15 Listen and give heed. Do not be arrogant, for the LORD has spoken.
౧౫జాగ్రత్తగా వినండి. యెహోవా మాట్లాడుతున్నాడు, అహంకారం వద్దు.
16 Give glory to the LORD your God before He brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the dusky mountains. You wait for light, but He turns it into deep gloom and thick darkness.
౧౬మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా చీకటి కమ్మజేయక ముందే, చీకటిలో మీ కాళ్లు కొండలపై తొట్రుపడక ముందే, ఆయనను ఘనపరచి కొనియాడండి. ఎందుకంటే మీరు వెలుగు కోసం చూస్తుండగా ఆయన దాన్ని గాఢాంధకారంగా మారుస్తాడు.
17 But if you do not listen, I will weep in secret because of your pride. My eyes will overflow with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive.
౧౭ఇప్పుడు మీరు ఆ మాట వినకపోతే మీ గర్వం విషయంలో నేను రహస్యంగా విలపిస్తాను. యెహోవా మందను చెరగా పట్టుకున్నందుకు నేను కన్నీరు మున్నీరుగా విలపిస్తాను.
18 Say to the king and to the queen mother: “Take a lowly seat, for your glorious crowns have fallen from your heads.”
౧౮రాజుతో, రాజమాతతో ఇలా చెప్పు. “మిమ్మల్ని మీరు తగ్గించుకుని, నేల మీద కూర్చోండి. మీ తలపై కిరీటాలు, మీ అహంకారం, మీ మహిమ అన్నీ పడిపోయాయి.”
19 The cities of the Negev have been shut tight, and no one can open them. All Judah has been carried into exile, wholly taken captive.
౧౯దక్షిణదేశ పట్టణాలు మూతబడి ఉన్నాయి. వాటిని తెరిచేవాడు ఉండడు. యూదా ప్రజలంతా చెరలోకి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
20 Lift up your eyes and see those coming from the north. Where is the flock entrusted to you, the sheep that were your pride?
౨౦మీ కళ్ళెత్తి ఉత్తరం నుండి వస్తున్న వారిని చూడండి. నీకిచ్చిన సుందరమైన మంద ఎక్కడ ఉంది?
21 What will you say when He sets over you close allies whom you yourself trained? Will not pangs of anguish grip you, as they do a woman in labor?
౨౧వారిని నీకై నువ్వు స్నేహితులుగా చేసికొన్నావు. ఇప్పుడు వారినే ఆయన నీ మీద అధిపతులుగా నియమిస్తే నీవేం చేస్తావు? ప్రసవించే స్త్రీ పడే వేదన నీకు కలుగుతుంది కదా?
22 And if you ask yourself, “Why has this happened to me?” It is because of the magnitude of your iniquity that your skirts have been stripped off and your body has been exposed.
౨౨“ఇవన్నీ నాకెందుకు జరుగుతున్నాయి?” అని నీ మనస్సులో అనుకోవచ్చు. నువ్వు చేసిన విస్తారమైన దోషాలే దానికి కారణం. అందుకే నీ వస్త్రాలు తీసివేయడం, నీపై అత్యాచారం చేయడం జరుగుతుంది.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Neither are you able to do good— you who are accustomed to doing evil.
౨౩కూషు దేశ ప్రజలు తమ చర్మపు రంగు మాపుకోగలరా? చిరుతపులి తన మచ్చలను మార్చుకోగలదా? అదే గనుక సాధ్యమైతే చెడు చేయడానికి అలవాటు పడిన మీకు మంచి చేయడం సాధ్యమౌతుంది.
24 “I will scatter you like chaff driven by the desert wind.
౨౪కాబట్టి అడవిగాలికి పొట్టు ఎగిరిపోయినట్టు నేను వారిని చెదరగొడతాను.
25 This is your lot, the portion I have measured to you,” declares the LORD, “because you have forgotten Me and trusted in falsehood.
౨౫మీరు నన్ను మరచిపోయి మోసాన్ని నమ్ముకున్నారు కాబట్టి అదే మీ వంతుగా నేను కొలిచి ఇచ్చాను, అని యెహోవా చెబుతున్నాడు.
26 So I will pull your skirts up over your face, that your shame may be seen.
౨౬కాబట్టి మీకు సిగ్గు కలిగేలా నేను మీ బట్టల అంచులను లేపి మీ ముఖం మీద పడేలా చేస్తాను.
27 Your adulteries and lustful neighings, your shameless prostitution on the hills and in the fields— I have seen your detestable acts. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! How long will you remain unclean?”
౨౭నీ వ్యభిచారం, కామంతో కూడిన నీ సకిలింపులు నీ జార కార్యాలు నాకు తెలుసు. పొలాల్లోని ఉన్నత స్థలాల్లో నీవు చేసిన అసహ్యమైన కార్యాలు నాకు కనబడుతున్నాయి. యెరూషలేమా, నీకు శ్రమ. నిన్ను నువ్వు పవిత్ర పరచుకోవడం లేదు. ఇలా ఎంత కాలం కొనసాగుతుంది?
