Isaiah 9
1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those in distress. In the past He humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future He will honor the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:
೧ಆದರೆ ಸಂಕಟಪಟ್ಟ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಧಕಾರವಿಲ್ಲ. ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೆಬುಲೋನ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ ಸೀಮೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಆತನು ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅನಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಆಚೆಯ ಸೀಮೆ, ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಕಡೆಗಿರುವ ಸೀಮೆ, ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಿರುವ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸೀಮೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಘನಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
೨ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳಕು ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲಾದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವು ಹೊಳೆಯಿತು.
3 You have enlarged the nation and increased its joy. The people rejoice before You as they rejoice at harvest time, as men rejoice in dividing the plunder.
೩ನೀನು ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೀ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ್ದೀ. ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ, ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಡುವವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
4 For as in the day of Midian You have shattered the yoke of their burden, the bar across their shoulders, and the rod of their oppressor.
೪ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಾರವಾದ ನೊಗವನ್ನೂ, ಬೆನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದ ಕೋಲನ್ನೂ, ಬಿಟ್ಟೀ ಹಿಡಿದವನ ದೊಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನಿನ ನಾಶನದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.
5 For every trampling boot of battle and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire.
೫ಯುದ್ಧದ ಗದ್ದಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಳಿದಾಡಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಗಳೂ, ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿದ ಉಡುಪುಗಳೂ, ಅಗ್ನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವವು.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
೬ಒಂದು ಮಗು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ, ವರದ ಮಗನು ನಮಗೆ ದೊರೆತನು; ಆಡಳಿತವು ಅವನ ಬಾಹುವಿನ ಮೇಲಿರುವುದು; ಅದ್ಭುತ ಸ್ವರೂಪನು, ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಕರ್ತನು, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದೇವರೂ, ನಿತ್ಯನಾದ ತಂದೆ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಪ್ರಭು ಎಂಬುದು ಆತನ ಹೆಸರು.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.
೭ಆತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಆಡಳಿತವು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಯಾಗುವುದು. ದಾವೀದನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಿರುವುದು. ಆ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೀತಿನ್ಯಾಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು. ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವು ಇದನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವುದು.
8 The Lord has sent a message against Jacob, and it has fallen upon Israel.
೮ಕರ್ತನು ಯಾಕೋಬ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಶಾಪದ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತಗುಲಿತು.
9 All the people will know it— Ephraim and the dwellers of Samaria. With pride and arrogance of heart they will say:
೯ಗರ್ವದಿಂದಲೂ, ಕೆಚ್ಚೆದೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಿಗೂ, ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆ ಮಾತು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು. ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
10 “The bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild with finished stone; the sycamores have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.”
೧೦“ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋದರೂ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟುವೆವು. ಅತ್ತಿ ಮರಗಳು ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರೂ ದೇವದಾರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವೆವು” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
11 The LORD has raised up the foes of Rezin against him and joined his enemies together.
೧೧ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ರೆಚೀನಿನ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
12 Aram from the east and Philistia from the west have devoured Israel with open mouths. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
೧೨ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪೂರ್ವದಿಂದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದಿಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸುವನು. ಇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಬಾಯಿದೆರೆದು ನುಂಗುವರು. ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆದರೂ ಆತನ ಕೋಪವು ತೀರದೆ ಕೈ ಇನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿಯೇ ಇದೆ.
13 But the people did not return to Him who struck them; they did not seek the LORD of Hosts.
೧೩ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದಾತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
14 So the LORD will cut off Israel’s head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day.
೧೪ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಿಂದ ತಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಲಗಳನ್ನು, ಖರ್ಜೂರದ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕುವನು.
15 The head is the elder and honorable man, and the tail is the prophet who teaches lies.
೧೫ಹಿರಿಯನು ಮತ್ತು ಘನವುಳ್ಳವನು ತಲೆಯಾಗಿರುವನು. ಸುಳ್ಳು ಬೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಬಾಲವಾಗಿರುವನು.
16 For those who guide this people mislead them, and those they mislead are swallowed up.
೧೬ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವವರು ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
17 Therefore the Lord takes no pleasure in their young men; He has no compassion on their fatherless and widows. For every one of them is godless and wicked, and every mouth speaks folly. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
೧೭ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿನ ಅನಾಥರನ್ನೂ, ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಕರುಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನೂ, ದುಷ್ಟನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರ ಬಾಯಿಯೂ ಮೂರ್ಖತನದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಎಷ್ಟು ದಂಡಿಸಿದರೂ ಆತನ ಕೋಪವು ತೀರದೆ ಕೈ ಇನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿಯೇ ಇದೆ.
18 For wickedness burns like a fire that consumes the thorns and briers and kindles the forest thickets which roll upward in billows of smoke.
೧೮ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಂತೆ ಉರಿದು, ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಪೊದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಅವು ಹೊಗೆ ಹೊಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಏರುತ್ತದೆ.
19 By the wrath of the LORD of Hosts the land is scorched, and the people are fuel for the fire. No man even spares his brother.
೧೯ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೋಪೋದ್ರೇಕದಿಂದ ದೇಶವು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ಅಗ್ನಿಗೆ ಆಹುತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
20 They carve out what is on the right, but they are still hungry; they eat what is on the left, but they are still not satisfied. Each one devours the flesh of his own offspring.
೨೦ಅವನು ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ತಿಂದರೂ ಹಸಿದೇ ಇರುವನು. ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ತಿಂದರೂ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ತೋಳಿನ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೇ ತಿನ್ನುವನು.
21 Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; together they turn against Judah. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
೨೧ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮನ್ನು, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದು. ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆದರೂ ಆತನ ಕೋಪವು ತೀರದೆ ಕೈ ಇನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿಯೇ ಇರುವುದು.
