Isaiah 58
1 “Cry aloud, do not hold back! Raise your voice like a ram’s horn. Declare to My people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.
Clama a alta voz, no detengas: alza tu voz como trompeta, y anuncia a mi pueblo su rebelión, y a la casa de Jacob su pecado.
2 For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”
Que me buscan cada día, y quieren saber mis caminos, como nación que hubiese obrado justicia, y que no hubiese dejado el derecho de su Dios: pregúntanme derechos de justicia, y quieren acercarse de Dios.
3 “Why have we fasted, and You have not seen? Why have we humbled ourselves, and You have not noticed?” “Behold, on the day of your fast, you do as you please, and you oppress all your workers.
¿Por qué ayunamos, y no hiciste caso: humillamos nuestras almas, y no lo supiste? He aquí que en el día de vuestro ayuno halláis lo que queréis, y todos pedís vuestras haciendas.
4 You fast with contention and strife to strike viciously with your fist. You cannot fast as you do today and have your voice be heard on high.
He aquí que para contiendas y debates ayunáis; y para herir del puño malamente. No ayunéis como hasta aquí, para que sea oída en lo alto vuestra voz.
5 Is this the fast I have chosen: a day for a man to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the LORD?
¿Es tal el ayuno que yo escogí, que de día aflija el hombre su alma, que encorve su cabeza como junco, y haga cama de saco y ceniza? ¿Esto llamaréis ayuno, y día agradable a Jehová?
6 Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to break the chains of wickedness, to untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and tear off every yoke?
¿No es antes el ayuno que yo escogí, desatar los líos de impiedad, deshacer los haces de opresión, y soltar libres a los quebrantados, y que rompáis todo yugo?
7 Isn’t it to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your home, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
¿Que partas tu pan con el hambriento, y a los pobres vagabundos metas en casa: cuando vieres al desnudo, le cubras; y que no te escondas de tu carne?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
Entonces nacerá tu luz como el alba; y tu sanidad reverdecerá presto; e irá tu justicia delante de ti, y la gloria de Jehová te recogerá.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry out, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and malicious talk,
Entonces invocarás, y oírte ha Jehová: clamarás, y dirá: Heme aquí. Si quitares de en medio de ti el yugo, el extender el dedo, y hablar vanidad;
10 and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will go forth in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday.
Y si derramares tu alma al hambriento, y hartares el alma afligida: en las tinieblas nacerá tu luz; y tu oscuridad será como el mediodía.
11 The LORD will always guide you; He will satisfy you in a sun-scorched land and strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Y pastorearte ha Jehová siempre, y en las sequedades hartará tu alma, y engordará tus huesos; y serás como huerta de riego, y como manadero de aguas, cuyas aguas nunca faltan.
12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets of Dwelling.
Y edificarán de ti los desiertos antiguos: los cimientos caídos de generación y generación levantarás; y serás llamado, reparador de portillos, restaurador de calzadas para habitar.
13 If you turn your foot from breaking the Sabbath, from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words,
Si retrajeres del sábado tu pie, de hacer tu voluntad en mi día santo, y al sábado llamares delicias, santo, glorioso de Jehová; y le venerares, no haciendo tus caminos, ni buscando tu voluntad, ni hablando palabra:
14 then you will delight yourself in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the land and feed you with the heritage of your father Jacob.”
Entonces te deleitarás en Jehová; y hacerte he subir sobre las alturas de la tierra, y hacerte he comer la heredad de Jacob tu padre; porque la boca de Jehová ha hablado.
