< Isaiah 50 >
1 This is what the LORD says: “Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of My creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.
Vakai, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou ngaahi hia kuo mou fakatau ʻakimoutolu, pea ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou ngaahi angahala ko ia kuo tukuange ai hoʻomou faʻē.
2 Why was no one there when I arrived? Why did no one answer when I called? Is My hand too short to redeem you? Or do I lack the strength to deliver you? Behold, My rebuke dries up the sea; I turn the rivers into a desert; the fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.
Ko e hā, ʻi heʻeku haʻu, naʻe ʻikai ai ha tangata? ʻI heʻeku ui, naʻe ʻikai ha taha ke lea mai? He kuo fakanounou hoku nima, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa faʻa huhuʻi ia? Pe ʻoku ʻikai haku mālohi ke fakamoʻui? Vakai, ʻi heʻeku valoki ʻoku ou fakamōmoa ʻae tahi, ʻoku ou liliu ʻae ngaahi vaitafe ko e toafa: kuo namuaʻa ʻenau ngaahi ika, pea mate ʻi he fieinu koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻikai ha vai.
3 I clothe the heavens in black and make sackcloth their covering.”
ʻOku ou fakakofuʻaki ʻae langi ʻae fakapoʻuli, pea ʻoku ou ngaohi ʻae tauangaʻa ko honau kofu.”
4 The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of discipleship, to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
Kuo foaki kiate au ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova ʻae ʻelelo ʻoe poto, koeʻuhi ke u ʻilo ke lea ʻaki ha lea ʻi he kuonga totonu kiate ia ʻoku vaivai: ʻoku ne ʻa ʻi he pongipongi kotoa pē, ke ne fafangu hoku telinga ke ongoʻi ʻo hangē ko e poto.
5 The Lord GOD has opened My ears, and I have not been rebellious, nor have I turned back.
Kuo fakaava ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova ʻa hoku telinga, pea naʻe ʻikai te u angatuʻu, pe foki kimui.
6 I offered My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spittle.
Ne u ʻatu hoku tuʻa ki he kau taaʻi, pea mo hoku kouʻahe kiate kinautolu naʻe fusi ʻae kava: naʻe ʻikai te u fufū hoku mata mei he mā mo e ʻaʻanu.
7 Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame.
He ko e ʻEiki ko Sihova ko hoku tokoni; ko ia ʻe ʻikai ai te u puputuʻu: ko ia kuo u ngaohi hoku mata ke hangē ko e maka afi, pea ʻoku ou ʻilo ʻe ʻikai te u mā.
8 The One who vindicates Me is near. Who will dare to contend with Me? Let us confront each other! Who has a case against Me? Let him approach Me!
ʻOku ofi mai ʻaia ʻoku ne fakatonuhiaʻi au; ko hai te ne fai mo au? Ke ma tutuʻu fakataha: ko hai ʻoku fakafili kiate au? Tuku ke ne ʻunuʻunu mai.
9 Surely the Lord GOD helps Me. Who is there to condemn Me? See, they will all wear out like a garment; the moths will devour them.
Vakai, ʻe tokoniʻi au ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova; ko hai ia te ne fakahalaia au? Vakai, te nau hoko ʻo motuʻa ʻo hangē ko e kofu; ʻe kai ʻo ʻosi ʻakinautolu ʻe he ane.
10 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him lean on his God.
Ko hai ʻiate kimoutolu ʻoku manavahē kia Sihova, pea talangofua ki he leʻo ʻo ʻene tamaioʻeiki, ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he poʻuli, pea ʻoku ʻikai maʻu ha maama? Tuku ke ne falala ki he huafa ʻo Sihova, pea faʻaki ki hono ʻOtua.
11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who array yourselves with firebrands, walk in the light of your fire and of the firebrands you have lit! This is what you will receive from My hand: You will lie down in a place of torment.
Vakai, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku tutu ʻae afi, pea kāpui ʻakimoutolu ʻaki ʻae ngaahi kalofiama: mou ʻeveʻeva ʻi he maama ʻo hoʻomou afi, pea ʻi he ngaahi kalofiama kuo mou tutu, ka te mou maʻu eni ʻi hoku nima; te mou tokoto hifo ʻi he mamahi.
