< Isaiah 5 >

1 I will sing for my beloved a song of his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill.
Èmi yóò kọrin fún ẹni tí mo fẹ́ràn orin kan nípa ọgbà àjàrà rẹ̀. Olùfẹ́ mi ní ọgbà àjàrà kan ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ òkè ẹlẹ́tù lójú.
2 He dug it up and cleared the stones and planted the finest vines. He built a watchtower in the middle and dug out a winepress as well. He waited for the vineyard to yield good grapes, but the fruit it produced was sour!
Ó tu ilẹ̀ rẹ̀, ó ṣa òkúta ibẹ̀ kúrò ó sì gbin àyànfẹ́ àjàrà sí i. Ó kọ́ ilé ìṣọ́ sí inú rẹ̀ ó sì ṣe ìfúntí kan síbẹ̀ pẹ̀lú. Lẹ́yìn náà, ó ń retí èso àjàrà dáradára, ṣùgbọ́n èso búburú ni ó ti ibẹ̀ wá.
3 “And now, O dwellers of Jerusalem and men of Judah, I exhort you to judge between Me and My vineyard.
“Ní ìsinsin yìí ẹ̀yin olùgbé Jerusalẹmu àti ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Juda ẹ ṣe ìdájọ́ láàrín èmi àti ọgbà àjàrà mi.
4 What more could I have done for My vineyard than I already did for it? Why, when I expected sweet grapes, did it bring forth sour fruit?
Kín ni ó kù tí n ò bá túnṣe sí ọgbà àjàrà mi. Ju èyí tí mo ti ṣe lọ? Nígbà tí mo ń wá èso dáradára, èéṣe tí ó fi so kíkan?
5 Now I will tell you what I am about to do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be consumed; I will tear down its wall, and it will be trampled.
Ní ìsinsin yìí, èmi yóò wí fún ọ ohun tí n ó ṣe sí ọgbà àjàrà mi. Èmi yóò gé igi inú rẹ̀ kúrò, a ó sì pa á run, Èmi yóò wó ògiri rẹ̀ lulẹ̀ yóò sì di ìtẹ̀mọ́lẹ̀.
6 I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and thorns and briers will grow up. I will command the clouds that rain shall not fall on it.”
Èmi yóò sì sọ ọ́ di ahoro láì kọ ọ́ láì ro ó, ẹ̀wọ̀n àti ẹ̀gún ni yóò hù níbẹ̀. Èmi yóò sì pàṣẹ fún kurukuru láti má ṣe rọ̀jò sórí i rẹ̀.”
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plant of His delight. He looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard a cry of distress.
Ọgbà àjàrà Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni ilé Israẹli àwọn ọkùnrin Juda sì ni àyànfẹ́ ọgbà rẹ̀. Ó retí ìdájọ́ ẹ̀tọ́ ṣùgbọ́n, ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ni ó rí. Òun ń retí òdodo ṣùgbọ́n ó gbọ́ ẹkún ìpayínkeke.
8 Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field until no place is left and you live alone in the land.
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń kọ́lé mọ́lé tí ó sì ń ra ilẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀ tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ààyè kò ṣẹ́kù tí ó sì nìkan gbé lórí ilẹ̀.
9 I heard the LORD of Hosts declare: “Surely many houses will become desolate, great mansions left unoccupied.
Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti sọ ọ́ sí mi létí: “Ó dájú pé àwọn ilé ńlá ńlá yóò di ahoro, àwọn ilé dáradára yóò wà láìní olùgbé.
10 For ten acres of vineyard will yield but a bath of wine, and a homer of seed only an ephah of grain.”
Ọgbà àjàrà sáré oko mẹ́wàá yóò mú ìkòkò wáìnì kan wá, nígbà tí òsùwọ̀n homeri kan yóò mú agbọ̀n irúgbìn kan wá.”
11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning in pursuit of strong drink, who linger into the evening, to be inflamed by wine.
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí wọ́n dìde ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀ láti lépa ọtí líle, tí wọ́n sì mu ún títí alẹ́ fi lẹ́ títí wọ́n fi gbinájẹ pẹ̀lú wáìnì.
12 At their feasts are the lyre and harp, tambourines and flutes and wine. They disregard the actions of the LORD and fail to see the work of His hands.
Wọ́n ní dùùrù àti ohun èlò orin olókùn níbi àsè wọn, ṣaworo òun fèrè àti wáìnì, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò ka iṣẹ́ Olúwa sí, wọn kò sí bọ̀wọ̀ fún iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
13 Therefore My people will go into exile for their lack of understanding; their dignitaries are starving and their masses are parched with thirst.
Nítorí náà àwọn ènìyàn mi yóò lọ sí ìgbèkùn nítorí òye kò sí fún wọn, ebi ni yóò pa àwọn ọlọ́lá wọn kú; ẹgbàágbèje wọn ni òǹgbẹ yóò sì gbẹ.
14 Therefore Sheol enlarges its throat and opens wide its enormous jaws, and down go Zion’s nobles and masses, her revelers and carousers! (Sheol h7585)
Nítorí náà isà òkú ti ń dátọ́mì gidigidi, ó sì ti ya ẹnu rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ gbagada, nínú rẹ̀ ni àwọn gbajúmọ̀ àti mẹ̀kúnnù yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí pẹ̀lú ọlá àti ògo wọn. (Sheol h7585)
15 So mankind will be brought low, and each man humbled; the arrogant will lower their eyes.
Báyìí, ènìyàn yóò di ìrẹ̀sílẹ̀ àti ọmọ ènìyàn ni a sọ di onírẹ̀lẹ̀ ojú agbéraga ni a sì rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
16 But the LORD of Hosts will be exalted by His justice, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni a ó gbéga nípa ẹ̀tọ́ rẹ̀, Ọlọ́run ẹni mímọ́ yóò sì fi ara rẹ̀ hàn ní mímọ́ nípa òdodo rẹ̀.
17 Lambs will graze as in their own pastures, and strangers will feed in the ruins of the wealthy.
Nígbà náà ni àwọn àgùntàn yóò máa jẹ́ ko ní ibùgbé e wọn, àwọn ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn yóò máa jẹ nínú ahoro àwọn ọlọ́rọ̀.
18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of deceit and pull sin along with cart ropes,
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń fi ohun asán fa ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, àti àwọn tí o dàbí ẹni pé wọ́n ń fi okùn kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹ̀sìn fa ẹsẹ̀,
19 to those who say, “Let Him hurry and hasten His work so that we may see it! Let the plan of the Holy One of Israel come so that we may know it!”
sí àwọn tí ó sọ pé, “Jẹ́ kí Ọlọ́run ṣe kíákíá, jẹ́ kí ó yára ṣiṣẹ́ rẹ̀ kí a lè rí i, jẹ́ kí ó súnmọ́ bí jẹ́ kí ètò ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli kí ó dé, kí àwa kí ó le mọ̀ ọ́n.”
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń pe ibi ní rere, àti rere ní ibi, tí ń fi òkùnkùn ṣe ìmọ́lẹ̀ àti ìmọ́lẹ̀ ṣe òkùnkùn, tí ń fi ìkorò ṣe adùn àti adùn ṣe ìkorò.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ó gbọ́n lójú ara wọn tí wọ́n jáfáfá lójú ara wọn.
22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine and champions in mixing beer,
Ègbé ni fún àwọn akọni nínú wáìnì mímu àti àwọn akíkanjú nínú àdàlú ọtí,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deprive the innocent of justice.
tí wọ́n dá ẹlẹ́bi sílẹ̀ nítorí àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀, tí wọn sì du aláre ní ẹ̀tọ́.
24 Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes the straw, and as dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will decay and their blossoms will blow away like dust; for they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of Hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Nítorí náà, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ahọ́n iná ṣe ń jó àgékù koríko run àti bí koríko ṣe rẹlẹ̀ wẹ̀sì nínú iná, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni egbò wọn yóò jẹrà tí òdodo wọn yóò sì fẹ́ lọ bí eruku: nítorí pé wọ́n ti kọ òfin Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun sílẹ̀ wọ́n sì gan ọ̀rọ̀ Ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli.
25 Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His hand is raised against them to strike them down. The mountains quake, and the corpses lay like refuse in the streets. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
Nítorí náà, ìbínú Olúwa gbóná si àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀, ó ti gbé ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sókè, ó sì lù wọ́n bolẹ̀. Àwọn òkè sì wárìrì, òkú wọn sì dàbí ààtàn ní àárín ìgboro. Pẹ̀lú gbogbo èyí, ìbínú rẹ̀ kò yí kúrò, ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀wọ́ rẹ̀ sì ná jáde síbẹ̀.
26 He lifts a banner for the distant nations and whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Behold—how speedily and swiftly they come!
Yóò sì gbé ọ̀págun sókè sí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó jìnnà, yóò sì kọ sí wọn tí ó wà ní ìpẹ̀kun ilẹ̀. Sì kíyèsi, wọ́n yóò yára wá kánkán.
27 None of them grows weary or stumbles; no one slumbers or sleeps. No belt is loose and no sandal strap is broken.
Kò sí ẹni tí yóò rẹ̀ nínú wọn, tàbí tí yóò kọsẹ̀, kò sí ẹni tí yóò tòògbé tàbí tí yóò sùn; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àmùrè ẹ̀gbẹ́ wọn kì yóò tú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni okùn sálúbàtà wọn kì yóò ja.
28 Their arrows are sharpened, and all their bows are strung. The hooves of their horses are like flint; their chariot wheels are like a whirlwind.
Àwọn ọfà wọn múná, gbogbo ọrun wọn sì le; pátákò àwọn ẹṣin wọn le bí òkúta akọ, àwọn àgbá kẹ̀kẹ́ wọn sì dàbí ìjì líle.
29 Their roaring is like that of a lion; they roar like young lions. They growl and seize their prey; they carry it away from deliverance.
Bíbú wọn dàbí tí kìnnìún, wọ́n bú bí ẹgbọrọ kìnnìún, wọ́n ń kọ bí wọ́n ti di ẹran ọdẹ wọn mú tí wọn sì gbé e lọ láìsí ẹni tí yóò gbà á là.
30 In that day they will roar over it, like the roaring of the sea. If one looks over the land, he will see darkness and distress; even the light will be obscured by clouds.
Ní ọjọ́ náà, wọn yóò hó lé e lórí gẹ́gẹ́ bí i rírú omi Òkun. Bí ènìyàn bá sì wo ilẹ̀, yóò rí òkùnkùn àti ìbànújẹ́; pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú ìmọ́lẹ̀ yóò di òkùnkùn pẹ̀lú kurukuru rẹ̀.
