< Isaiah 41 >

1 “Be silent before Me, O islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come forward and testify; let us together draw near for judgment.
Waaqayyo akkana jedha; “Yaa biyyoota bishaan gidduu, fuula koo duratti calʼisaa! Saboonni jabina isaanii haa haaromfatan! Isaan fuula duratti baʼanii haa dubbatan; walii wajjin murtiidhaaf haa dhiʼaannu.
2 Who has aroused one from the east and called him to his feet in righteousness? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow.
“Kan baʼa biiftuutii nama tokko kakaasee qajeelummaadhaan tajaajila isaatiif isa waame eenyu? Inni saboota dabarsee harka isaatti kenna; moototas isa jalatti bulcha. Inni goraadee isaatiin daaraa, xiyya isaatiinis habaqii bubbeedhaan bittinnaaʼu isaan godha.
3 He pursues them, going on safely, hardly touching the path with his feet.
Inni isaan ariʼee, daandii miilli isaa irra deemee hin beekne irra nagaan darba.
4 Who has performed this and carried it out, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD—the first and the last— I am He.”
Jalqabaa kaasee dhaloota waamee waan kana kan tolchee fi hojjete eenyu? Ani Waaqayyo isa duraa ti; isa dhumaatiifis ani isuma.”
5 The islands see and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward.
Biyyoonni bishaan gidduu arganii sodaatu; daariiwwan lafaa ni hollatu. Isaanis ni dhiʼaatu; gara fuula duraattis dhufu;
6 Each one helps the other and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
tokkoon tokkoon namaa wal gargaara; obboleessa isaatiinis, “Jabaadhu!” jedha.
7 The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who wields the hammer cheers him who strikes the anvil, saying of the welding, “It is good.” He nails it down so it will not be toppled.
Tumtuun sibiilaa tumtuu warqee ni jajjabeessa; inni burruusaan wal qixxeessus, isa gemmoo irratti sibiila tumu jajjabeessa. Waaʼee sibiila walitti baqsuu, “Wanni kun gaarii dha” jedha. Akka inni hin sochooneefis Waaqa tolfamaa sana mismaaraan walitti qabsiisa.
8 “But you, O Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham My friend—
“Ati garuu, yaa garbicha koo Israaʼel, yaa Yaaqoob kan ani filadhe, sanyii Abrahaam michuu kootii,
9 I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said, ‘You are My servant.’ I have chosen and not rejected you.
ani handaara lafaatii si fudhadhe; golee fagoodhaan si waammadhe. Ani, ‘Ati garbicha koo ti’ siin jedhe; ani si filadheera; si hin gannes,
10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.
Kanaafuu ati hin sodaatin; ani si wajjin jiraatii; hin raafamin; ani Waaqa keetii. Ani sin jabeessa; sin gargaaras; ani harka koo mirgaa qajeelaa sanaan hirkisee ol sin qaba.
11 Behold, all who rage against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will be reduced to nothing and will perish.
“Kunoo, warri sitti aaran hundi, ni qaanaʼu; ni salphatus; warri siin morman akka waan hin jirree taʼu; ni badus.
12 You will seek them but will not find them. Those who wage war against you will come to nothing.
Ati diinota kee barbaadduu iyyuu, isaan hin argattu. Warri waraana sitti banan, guutumaan guutuutti akka waan hin jirree taʼan.
13 For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and tells you: Do not fear, I will help you.
Ani Waaqayyo Waaqni kee harka kee mirgaa nan qabaatii; inni, ‘Hin sodaatin; ani sin gargaaraa’ siin jedhus anuma.
14 Do not fear, O worm of Jacob, O few men of Israel. I will help you,” declares the LORD. “Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Yaa Yaaqoob raammoo nana, Yaa Israaʼel xinnoo nana hin sodaatin; ani mataan koo sin gargaaraatii” jedha Waaqayyo, Furaan kee, Qulqullichi Israaʼel sun.
15 Behold, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.
“Ani kunoo, meeshaa ittiin midhaan dhaʼan, meeshaa haaraa fi qaramaa kan ilkaan baayʼee qabu sin taasisa. Ati tulluuwwan dhooftee caccabsita; gaarran immoo akka habaqii goota.
16 You will winnow them, and a wind will carry them away; a gale will scatter them. But you will rejoice in the LORD; you will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
Ati jara ni afarsita; qilleensis ol isaan fudhata; bubbeen jabaan isaan bittinneessa. Ati garuu Waaqayyotti ni gammadda; Qulqullicha Israaʼelinis ulfina argatta.
17 The poor and needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I, the LORD, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
“Hiyyeeyyii fi rakkattoonni bishaan barbaadu; garuu homaa hin argatan; arrabni isaanii dheebuudhaan goggogeera. Ani Waaqayyo garuu deebii nan kennaaf; ani Waaqni Israaʼel jara hin gatu.
18 I will open rivers on the barren heights, and fountains in the middle of the valleys. I will turn the desert into a pool of water, and the dry land into flowing springs.
Lafa ol kaʼaa qullaa irra lageen nan yaasa; sululoota keessa immoo burqaa nan burqisiisa. Gammoojjii haroo bishaaniitti, lafa goges burqaa bishaaniitti nan geeddara.
19 I will plant cedars in the wilderness, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees. I will set cypresses in the desert, elms and boxwood together,
Gammoojjii keessatti gaattiraa, laaftoo, kusaayee fi ejersa nan biqilcha. Lafa onaa keessatti immoo, Birbirsa, qararoo fi hadheessa wal faana nan dhaaba.
20 so that all may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Kunis akka namoonni akka harki Waaqayyoo waan kana hojjete, akka Qulqullichi Israaʼel waan kana uume arganii beekaniif, akkasumas akka hundi isaanii waan kana qalbeeffatanii hubataniif.
21 “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Submit your arguments,” says the King of Jacob.
“Dhimma keessan dhiʼeeffadhaa” jedha Waaqayyo; “Ragaa keessan fidadhaa” jedha mootiin Yaaqoob.
22 “Let them come and tell us what will happen. Tell the former things, so that we may reflect on them and know the outcome. Or announce to us what is coming.
“Akka isaan waan taʼuuf jiru nutti himaniif, waaqota keessan tolfamoo fidadhaa. Akka nu isaan hubannee waan isaan dhuma irratti taʼan beeknuuf, wantoonni bara dur maal akka turan nutti himaa. Yookaan wantoota dhufuuf jiran nutti odeessaa;
23 Tell us the things that are to come, so that we may know that you are gods. Yes, do something good or evil, that we may look on together in dismay.
akka nu akka isin waaqota taatan beeknuuf, waan fuul duratti taʼuuf jiru nutti himaa. Akka nu rifannee sodaan guutamnuuf, waan gaarii yookaan waan hamaa hojjedhaa.
24 Behold, you are nothing and your work is of no value. Anyone who chooses you is detestable.
Kunoo isin wayittuu hin hedamtan; hojiin keessanis gonkumaa gatii hin qabu; kan isin filatu kam iyyuu jibbisiisaa dha.
25 I have raised up one from the north, and he has come— one from the east who calls on My name. He will march over rulers as if they were mortar, like a potter who treads the clay.
“Ani nama tokko kaabaa nan kaase; innis dhufa; inni baʼa biiftuutii dhufus maqaa koo ni waammata. Inni akkuma suphee dhooftuun suphee dhidhiitu sana, bulchitoota akka dhoqqeetti dhidhiita.
26 Who has declared this from the beginning, so that we may know, and from times past, so that we may say: ‘He was right’? No one announced it, no one foretold it, no one heard your words.
Akka nu beekuu dandeenyuuf eenyutu jalqabumaa kaasee waan kana dubbate? Yookaan akka nu, ‘Inni sirrii dha’ jechuu dandeenyuuf eenyutu duraan dursee waan kana dubbate? Eenyu iyyuu waan kana hin himne; namni tokko iyyuu duraan dursee hin himne; namni tokko iyyuu dubbii keessan hin dhageenye.
27 I was the first to tell Zion: ‘Look, here they are!’ And I gave to Jerusalem a herald of good news.
Namni jalqabatti, ‘Kunoo isaan as jiru!’ jedhee Xiyoonitti hime ana ture. Ani nama oduu gaarii himu tokko Yerusaalemiif kenneera.
28 When I look, there is no one; there is no counselor among them; when I ask them, they have nothing to say.
Ani nan ilaale; garuu homtuu hin turre; isaan keessaa namni gorsa kennu tokko iyyuu hin jiru; yommuu ani isaan gaafadhus namni deebii kennu tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
29 See, they are all a delusion; their works amount to nothing; their images are as empty as the wind.
Kunoo, hundi isaanii faayidaa hin qaban! Hojiin isaaniis gatii hin qabu; fakkiiwwan isaaniis qilleensuma duwwaa dha.
